  1. In watching the SB highlight films on the nfl network today, I watched the two Pats 3 point victoriess in Super Bowls 36 and 38. These were two games that could have gone to either the Rams or the Panthers. Belicheck going for the win and not playing for ot in sb36 was a great coaching decision that paid off for them. The Panthers John Kasey kicking the ball out of bounds and giving the Pats the ball at the 40 yard line late in sb38 was a huge mistake that the Pats capitalized on and won the game on the last play. Does two 3 point victories in the biggest game of the year make a team a budding dynasty? I say the Patriots need to dominate the Eagles next Sunday to be considered in the class of the 70's Steelers, 80's 49ers and 90's Cowboys. A loss Sunday and I think they're a very good team along the lines of the Dolphins of the 70's or the Broncos of the late 90s - not a dynasty.
  2. It's hard to be a Bills fan at this time of year. Spent a good part of today watching the SB highlight shows on the NFL Network. It is still tough to watch those four losses. As great a run as it was to just have had one win would have been so deserving for that team and for Buffalo and all the fans. Damn shame....
  3. Here's another one that should be decommissioned: #66 Billy Shaw - the man, hall of famer, great player. After that it's been all down hill: Jerry Crafts Victor Allotey Lauvale Sape!!!!!! 66 needs to join the ranks of 32, 34 and 78 - numbers that just aren't given out anymore. Best number as far as the quality of all the players wearing it: #2 Steve Christie - he's the only one in Bills history to wear it!
  4. Congratulations Nate! Memo to TD - lock this kid up now! When he has another pro bowl season next year the Bills will be paying major bucks to keep him after '05.
  5. Parker's good - he's on the NFL Network's Playbook program. He does a good job too. I always thought the Bills made a mistake in letting him go.
  6. What's a year? It's not like we're talking about football here - losing a season of football would BLOW! Hockey needs change: salary structure/cap, rule changes to open up the game, contraction of the number of teams, reduction in ticket prices so that families can actually go to a game. If some or all of these things can be accomplished at the cost of losing this season, I'm on board and I'll be right there to support the Islanders when they start play again.
  7. If we're looking at great trilogies everyone's forgetting the Mad Max films. The first one was a great low budget film that really kickstarted Mel's career. Road Warrior is just a classic. Thunderdome was the weakest of the three but even that was fun.
  8. Ironically enough, three Bills free agents that did well with their new teams came from what has become the weakest group on the Bills. Will Wolford (Steelers), Glenn Parker (Chiefs/Giants) and Dusty Ziegler (Giants - a bit of a reach but he played well for them before getting injured and retiring after two years starting at C).
  9. Travis to the Fish for Sammy Morris and their third round pick. McMichael is too much to hope for even from the dumb a** fish management.
  10. LOL What ever happened to Norm MacDonald? He fell off the radar screen.
  11. Different when you're lining up against the Bills in the Orange and Teal unis. Thurman went down to Miami pissed off at the Bills and wanting to show the Bills something. AVP is looking for a coaching job and there's not as many of those available at this level. He's putting on the coach's shirt not the uniform. That and the fact that AVP was not a Bill at the level of Thurman - can't even mention him in the same sentence.
  12. Right on KD in CT! I just left a company after nearly 20 years. My company allowed six sick days per year. I was in management and took an average of less than two sick days a year over that time frame and those were legitimate sick days not f-off days. As the sick days were use 'em or lose 'em that's eighty plus days pay lost from that time. How am I supposed to feel when I compare it to the other employees who happily used up all their time and enjoyed the "benefit"? HR and upper management never saw the upside of paying out for the unused days.
  13. Good opportunity for AVP who is one of the good guys. This doesn't rank anywhere near as troubling as Thurman signing with the Fish. That was just wrong.
  14. Four months: September, October, November and December. That would be some real punishment.
  15. Just another Iggles fan trying to get down to Florida....
  16. Hey - don't make fun of him or his trade value will decrease...
  17. Pretty on the mark. I would have thrown Lee Evans into the honorable mentions.
  18. I think I can top that on the "gay meter". I went to the Bills - Patriots game in Foxboro back in '95. It was their first Monday Night game in years. They gave everybody a pom-pom as they walked in and then prompted the fans to wave them as the broadcast began. Nothing like being surrounded by 64,000 drunken Ma**holes waving pom-poms. And the Bills lost. And it was 2:30 am before I could even get out of the parking lot after the game. :I starred in Brokeback Mountain:
  19. A team doesn't get to 15-1 through dumb luck. This was a team that upgraded it's running game (with Duce Staley) and defense (by bringing back Dick LeBeau). They drafted a can't miss QB with a top ten pick. While most pre-season pundits didn't think they would be this good there was no reason to think that they wouldn't take their division over the Bungles, Brownies and Ravens. For a team to dominate the regular season and go 15- 1, beating the Super Bowl champions on the way, have home field advantage throughout the playoffs and then lose the Championship game at home - the bottom line is they choked.
  20. Chris Mohr used to be good. Peerless benefitted from playing second fiddle to Moulds. While he had some nice plays for us he was also immature and prone to stupid plays. Now he just sucks.
  21. You are talking about his headset, right????
  22. You would think a 15 -1 record would count for something in the NFL. Not for these two choke artists. As crappy as the Steelers looked today I wasn't surprised by their loss. My vote has to go with the Vikings - that was a great choke job
  23. Any playoff games without the Bills sucks
