  1. I want the all Pennsylvania Super Bowl because I hate the Patriots and am already tired of the Mike Vick super hero hype. So, as a Bills fan, because that is what I want it will then end up being Patriots - Falcons. And the winner is...the Pats. Bill Belicheck makes Michael Vick look like Doug Flutie and Drew Bledsoe rolled into one QB. The Atlanta defense plays hard but gets worn down in the second half (kinda like the Colts yesterday - did you see the hands on the hips, sucking wind look during the second drive of the second half. Perfect game plan by the Pats coaching staff.) Pats win 30 -14.
  2. F the Jets, Pats, Steelers, Vikings, Falcons and Rams. By process of elimination Colts vs. Eagles. Let offense win out for once - would love to see the Colts make the City of Brotherly Love even more miserable. Three straight Conference Championship losses and a Super Bowl loss - Sweet!
  3. Here's one that no one mentioned - Joe Strummer and Paul Simonon kicking Mick Jones out of the Clash. They went from being The Only Band That Matters to being a parody of themselves. The post Jones album ("Cut The Crap") is one of the worst albums I own and I loved this band back in the day.
  4. What a tool. Did anybody see McCombs on the field after the game. He was wearing this nasty fur coat - he looked like an old pimp hugging Randy Moss.
  5. While there is still some work to be done I think it's a nice addition. Point After is excellent, more detail than nfl prime time with the interviews tacked on. I was kind of hoping to see one of the Bills games as game of the week - maybe next year. In Their Own Words is also excellent. They had one on Dick Vermeil that was great and the one on Brian Billick actually made me dislike him less than I originally did. Hopefully in the offseason they go back to the archives for the classic games. I must of watched the Bills-Titans play off game a half dozen times (only once until the end, the rest of the time I bailed with five minutes left ) Overall I'd give it a B- for the first year.
  6. Schobel would have a new one ripped IMMEDIATELY and rightfully so. BTW, I'm with you - I'm still pissed at Bruce for missing that Pittsburgh playoff game. Bruce would have been the difference maker that day. Without him, the Steelers ran away from Paup all day.
  7. Bill Polian is a great GM. The fact that he's done it in three different cities, with different approaches (offense first for the Bills/Colts, defense first for the Panthers) before free agency and after free agency and that he has maintained a level of success through his runs as GM speaks volumes.
  8. I'm up to the KC years right now. I have to say I'm enjoying the book - I don't need all the stats and details, I have Sal Maiorana's "Relentless" books for that. It's just good to read the story of one of the nfl good guys.
  9. Vanderjagt is one of the top ten kickers in the league (in the top five depending on who you talk to ) To have him on the Bills would be a great upgrade. Kick Lindell out in '05
  10. I'm old school - I still think he's a bum. We're talking play offs not some week 2 game against the 49ers. Yes I know that the nfl is a business and that a player is fortunate to get one or two huge contracts if he's lucky before he's injured or forced out by a younger, less expensive player. The bottom line is that for Abraham to even bring the money issue to the surface in a discussion about whether or not he was going to play in a playoff game just shows how out of touch he is with the concept of team player. Here's an article from superbowl.com that mentions the contract situation: HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (Jan. 11, 2005) -- Jets defensive end John Abraham is questionable for New York's playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a sprained right knee. Coach Herman Edwards said Abraham is still sore and would make a game-time decision on the status of his Pro Bowl player. Abraham was initially listed as probable to start the week after missing his fifth straight game with the injury. Last week, Abraham said he needed to weigh his options when deciding whether to play because of his impeding free agency. Though Abraham is still sore, Edwards expects him to participate when the team returns to practice Jan. 12. "When a player can't go full speed you really don't want to put him in harm's way," Edwards said. "It's best for John, best for the team until he can go full speed he shouldn't play. He's going to do everything he can this week to try to be prepared." http://www.superbowl.com/news/story/8089333
  11. John Abraham is a bum. If you're medically cleared, you suit up. Even if you're only put in for situational plays (i.e. third down plays). Hell, if you suit up and aren't able to contribute as you would pre-injury you still make the Chargers have to account for you when you're on the field. We're not talking about a walk on free agent here. This guy has already made good money. I'm can't feel sympathetic for him because he's looking at his big picture. I'm glad he's not a Bill.
  12. C'mon, the last twenty years have to count for something - that and the fact that he could have shuffled out of Buffalo back in '98. Yes, he made a lot of money at the time but he could have made even more had he sold or moved the team. It would be nice for Ralph to get the honor while he's still here on earth.
  13. Don't know if there are any players but they have Bill Polian as GM.
  14. The system's fine - the nfc just happens to blow this season. It is weird to see two 8-8 teams win on the road in the wild card round.
  15. NO WAY - He is just a tool. I don't care how much talent he has, I couldn't root for someone who is such an a**. I guess I'm old school - I used to get pissed off at Bruce when he would take his helmet off after a big play. As the nfl changed the rules regarding players taking their helmets off on the field of play, they will inevitably address these end zone celebrations in a more aggressive way.
  16. As much as I dislike the Vikings I gotta feel good for Teddy Cottrell. It was good to see the players recognize him with the gatorade shower.
  17. I was trying to think if there was any other occasions where he cost the Bills a game - other than the SD incident, I thought there was a game against Indy (last game of the season - 1994?) where he missed a potential game winner at the end of regulation. If that was the only two times that's not a bad run for ten seasons.
  18. I'm with you on this one - Christie was money when he was with the Bills. His stats are even more impressive when you take away the horror show day he had in GB earlier in the year. He missed from 30, 33 and 49 yards that day in what were described as awful wind conditions (the GB kicker didn't attempt a fg all day.). Take away those three attempts and he's at an 88% completion rate. Not bad for a guy the brain trust thought was finished four years ago. I would take a shot at him as a free agent pick up in a minute.
