Doug Marrone Not Getting Fired Per Ian Rapoport
C.Biscuit97 replied to Phil The Thrill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Has Daboll ever been a good OC? -
McDermott has shown he knows what he is doing on offense but he has looked terrible with offensive decisions. Enter Kliff. He was over his head as a first time head coach but he still had some great offenses. Coming off getting fired, a nfl OC job is the perfect way to fix his rep. He has shown a history of developing nfl qbs. You hire him and let him pick some offensive talent here. This regime is all about Josh Allen. Personally, I think it was an insult risky pick but hiring Daboll, as nice of a guy as he probably is, isn’t going all out for Allen. Hire a guy with a proven offensive track record. This is the type of thinking that separates teams like the Rams and the Jags. https://www.google.com/amp/s/touchdownwire.usatoday.com/2018/11/25/why-kliff-kingsbury-should-be-the-nfls-next-offensive-coordinator-hire/amp/

Doug Marrone Not Getting Fired Per Ian Rapoport

I mean he’s been living off his defense since Buffalo. His offenses consistently suck but maybe he’s that overseer coach type. that said, I personally think the Bills should move on from our OC this offseason. -

I hate Marrone but they were nearly in SB last year. -
Nice game but Allen needs to pass

That is a higher passing total than Allen has had in any game. Im not even trying to knock Allen but imo, Mahomes is really, really good. They are still a good D but not what they were last year. They basically are giving up a touchdown more a game and seems to have quit. But it was a good test. -
It’s so funny how people get worked up about football fights when hockey players can assault each other and it’s cool.

I mean I enjoyed our victory over the 3-7 Jags but are posters really asking if they would trade Allen for Rodgers???? I didn’t drink enough in celebration apparently. He’s been the MVP, led his team to a 15-1 record and the SB, and is consistently in playoff contention with less than stellar receivers. If Josh Allen comes close to that, he is a great pick.

Would you rather be the 3-7 Bills or 3-7 Jags?

The Jags are going to regret the LF pick. He isn’t that special of a back to spend that high of a pick on. Church is awful. -

Are you really comparing yesterday to a playoff game? They are completely different teams with different rosters. It’s completely unanswerable. Allen did only have 2 career 300 yards games in college against pretty crappy teams. -
Edmunds...he deserves some love too

He struggles big time in the first half but rebounded nice (though the ejection certainly helped). At the absolute worst, we have a great OLB. At the best, we have a freak at MLB. But those instincts separate the good and great MLBs and he certainly had some work to do there. Yeah, he misdiagnosed a bunch of plays in the first half. Fans underestimate how much reads and intelligence goes into being a good MLB. I’ve seen some non great athletes become great MLB just because of their ability to recognize plays. -
I mean it get it and it’s part of being a fan. But it’s kinda insane. Allen averages 141 yards passing/ game. I thought the Darnold hype was out of control and he has a major issue with turnovers. That said, he is asked to do much more than Allen. SD averages 10 more passing attempts per game. I would still take SD over Allen but he hasn’t exactly wowed me either. Honestly, besides Mayfield, it seems like this class was completely overhyped. That said, it is still so early and these guys all went to pretty bad teams (though we did make the playoffs). No one likes it but Allen is a lot closer to Lamar as a passer than Newton or Big Ben.

I can’t believe how simple you guys make football. You need threats on your roster. Watkins opened up things for other guys. It’s why the Rams tried to get another speed guy instead of just going with Kupp and Woods. It’s why the Chiefs signed Sammy. -

But you’re also forgetting about the huge offensive coaching upgrade they got. That is a huge reason for their rise. Personally, I’d fire Daboll and hire Kliff Kingsbury. I think he is the new young star offensive coach. -
I love Harry. I think he is held back by his qb too. Mans I’ll say good for Foster for making some plays. I still would never trust him in a clutch situation. Your hands don’t magically improve. But his physical skills will have him with a chance to be in a roster and crack a lineup. But this group needs to get much better.

I thought Goff was a much better prospect than Allen. They also upgraded to one of the best offensive coaches in the league. Gurley is the best rb in the nfl. But it’s a fair point that is going to depend on Allen. the Jags’ regression was pretty easy to see. In a weird way, this might be the best thing to happen to them because they will have a high pick and can add a qb or another good piece to a pretty good team. -
Best Cornerback in the Game!

Tre White is awesome. Hard to say he is the best but he is really up there. It also shows that having a great CB means really nothing in today’s nfl. A bunch of the best ones are in terrible teams - Peterson, Ramsey/ Bouye, slay. -
They have lost 7 games in a row and average 17.9 points per game. He was getting fired no matter what. And Daboll should be on the hot seat as well. I get being patient but it is also stupid to stay with an OC who really doesn’t have a great track record. Is there anything special Hackett does? also, I’m in the Kliff Kingsbury for nfl OC camp. I think he can be an awesome OC if he just focuses on that.

Agreed Allen has a cannon. But what you said is what terrifies me about Allen. He seems like a good dude who is a hard worker. But I rarely have seen a guy have more excuses made for him than him. He helped us win a game so I’m not trying to crush him. But in a league with 50 point games, we won with 8 completions. As for the drops, which there were, the Bills only have 10 this year. http://stats.washingtonpost.com/fb/tmleaders.asp?range=NFL&type=Receiving&rank=232 his physical skills are awesome. This regime did a terrible job surrounding him with weapons. But at some point, you need to be better than a 52% passer. And he has never been higher than 56% on any level. At some point, we just have to admit he needs to get more accurate.
