I mean it’s a business and I get that. But man, this is a bad look for a league that pretends like they care about the players. It’s why unless for a rare exception, you should never side with an owner over a player. These guys are just pieces of meat to them that they get rid of the second they can’t produce.

I mean we’re nitpicking here. Kelly is a HOFer and a very good QB. Marino and Elway are HOFers and IMO, all time great qbs. I think the Bills has way more talent than the Fins and Broncos. I think Elway and Marino had to carry their teams more and are better overall qbs than Kelly. It’s like a model isn’t as hot as a super model. But I would suspect if you asked non Bills fans, they would overwhelmingly agree with me. JMO obviously.

That also helped his nfl transition too. Imagine if rookie QBs got to play 2 seasons in a league other than the nfl before they played in the nfl. I bet a lot more qbs that failed would have had much more success. Good post. I was super young but I had a book called Relentless, which is an amazing collection of every Bills season for like 30 years or something. Kelly has matured and become a great representative of the Bills. But with all due respect, he was a Richard for a lot of his Bills career. A qb deserves a ton of blame when he causes team dysfunction. Also, Kelly could have been more of a positive leader during the SB but he sounds like the main one who was leading the partying. Then he played awful in those games.

Such a good point and there are so many simple things. Everyone wants to defend their “side.” The far majority of things aren’t just black and white but rather gray. Jim Kelly? ? and I had Jackson and Allen tied in their draft when they came out. Both super talented, both have some flaws. Pretty stupid to make any concrete judgements right now but I will say Jackson has made some questionable off the field things that makes me wonder. But Roman is the right OC (and very underrated here) for him.

Agreed. It’s an extremely stupid, especially with the resources and apps that are out there. But sadly, he is far from the exception. It’s daily life. Yeah, really no excuse for it in the any age, especially the Uber one. But being honest, I made the mistake before. Hopefully, he never does it again. Dude is a good player too.

You really can’t but your Bills bias and see the difference? Their qb tied a rookie record for td passes (ours completed 52% of his passes), our top receiver would struggle to crack their top 4, they have a super talented 1st round TE, they added a pro bowl and have a 2nd year guy who had a good rookie season, they have a 1overall DE and added a Pro Bowler pass rusher. Come on Promo! You are the ultimate Bills fan but you can try to be somewhat realistic. i mean it’s the Browns so I’m sure something bad will happen. But I’d trade our roster for theirs in a second. So would most rational people.

That is a very generous ranking. They have potential but they have a ton to prove. We don’t have Returning DT who had a sack last year, Star and Shaq are one dimensional players, and Murphy will get hurt. Love Oliver but he is a rookie. Definitely have a bunch of talent but they need to prove it.

Jamal Adams says this, he’s a cocky SOB. Tre says it, I love the confidence! Tre is one of the best players on the team and great value where he was picked. He is also going to cost big money. There is a world where the Bills re-sign Gilmore (1st team all pro) and draft White. There is also a world where the Bills re-sign Gilmore, keep the 10 pick and draft Mahomes or Watson. Then, instead of trading up for ZAy, they stay put and draft JuJu or Cooper Kupp. But I will be murdered for criticizing the process. Dear Josh Allen, please be really, really good because this will be hard to get past.

I get where you’re coming from but Wilson was like a 70% passer in college and is a career 64%. He’s pretty accurate and guys like that have an easier time spreading the ball around. my fear is Daboll is trying to copy NE and Allen shouldn’t play the same way as Brady. Good point but they say it’s really tough for young QBs to train their eyes from looking certain places. Allen, for better or worse, wants to make a big play. It will be an adjustment for him to look quickly down field and just take the short stuff. It seems like it should be super easy but he’s been playing a certain way his whole life.

For Tom Brady, nope, it doesn’t matter. But for Allen and most young QBs, they should have too target. You need a guy you can throw to with the game on the line. You also need a guy who draws consistent double teams and is a person defenses have to key on every play. I worry we don’t have that and that might hold his offense back.

I love Bills fans who hate on a qb who took us to back to back playoff games. But then again, we have been loaded with playoff berths since so I get it! Flutie was Johnny Manziel without the coke problem. This is an entirely different nfl then the one he entered. He would have been a 1st round pick instead of battle his way through the CFL.
