I don’t know anyone wants to sign a veteran rb to a deal when you can draft/ find a guy much cheaper with less miles. Miami had like 3 rbs better than Breida last year. It shouldn’t be that hard to find a Rb. it’s funny that we sucked for so many years but always could find a good rb. Now we’re good and it’s like our biggest problem haha.

Looks like John Brown was released

Basically, Brown got replaced by a better version of himself. Sucks but that’s the business. Seems like a legit good dude and he will have no problem finding a new team. -

Hughes had 5 sacks his first 3 years. I don’t think HR has any character or work ethic concerns. Sometimes it takes a bit. So trending up when you’re 26 is a bad thing? Would it have been better if he had 12.5 sacks as a rookie and went backwards? This team badly needs a legit number 1 pass rusher. Dude is probably going to be too expensive but I don’t why so many are quick to dismiss a guy trending in the right direction. Double digit sack guys entering their prime rarely hit the open market. -
Isn’t inconsistent his total career? But this is whatever. He made a couple of plays but I didn’t really notice him most games. But he’s young.

NFL Awards Compensatory Picks - Pats Get Highest One

The Pats Front office one of the most overrated groups in the history of sports. The only reason they were successful is they had Brady; didn’t sign him to a max deal; and then told FAs they could win a SB with Brady. -

I think this is one of the few times it has been universal wishing an ex bill well. proud of us. ☺️ -
Beane's salary cap management

Thanks but this is the hard part of the job. People love killing Whaley but when you have good talent getting second contracts, it costs a lot more. the good/ bad side is they actually have a legit franchise guy. But the problem is when they have to pay him a ton. This is the SB window. This is when you go all in with short year contracts. -
Old white dudes in America?

Beane's salary cap management
C.Biscuit97 replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A lot easier to do this when they don’t have to pay Allen $50 million/ year. This is their year to go all in because everything is about to become that much more difficult in 2022. -
For real. If Alex Smith (Cousins’ less dorky twin) does have his leg explode, there is almost no difference between Washington with or without Cousins. In fact, they were better (they were 6-3 when it happened). No team lets a legit franchise qb hit free agency unless there’s a major injury or they don’t believe in him. The fact that Cousins hasn’t taken Minnesota any further than Keenum and Washington was perfectly fine until Smith’s leg exploding shows he’s not elevating your franchise. And Minnesota is going to lose a lot of good talent because they paid cousins that much.
-
And keep pounding the table for a guy who signed at the time the richest contract in nfl history who has a .500 record (he is a whooping 4 games over .500 in Minny though!). washington is run by a stupid person. Doesn’t mean they were wrong about not paying Cousins.
-
They were 9-7 and 8-7-1 with Cousins and went 7-9 the first 2 years after he left. again, he’s not terrible but he’s not a franchise elevator. He’s dorky Alex Smith with throws the ball down the field a little more.
-
The Vikings went further with Case Keenum. No Washington fan ever says they miss Cousins. And Mario Williams was arguably the 1st or 2nd best DE when he was here. Cousins never came close to that level at his position. part of the reason the Vikings sucked this year is because they had to let talent go because they had to overpay Cousins. He’s solid but hardly a franchise changing qb. And the Vikings will be mediocre as long as they have him at that price.

Sucks but it was inevitable. Guy was great last year and I wish him nothing but the best. But given how Davis played, he was making too much for what his role probably is going to be. -
Very backside of his career

He’s just entering his prime; he’s the former 13 pick; we just saw this with Hughes; and he didn’t have a set position for a bunch of his career. If you believe in your coaches, it’s wild to dismiss a pass rusher this young who might have just figured out how to make it in the NFL. -

Cousins is nit worth what he is getting paid.

Don’t get wood camo. Don’t get animal heads over your house. Don’t get posing with dead animals. personally, I’d rather hunt people (bad people). -

So if you take away those sacks (which if you do that for every player, it would be crazy), he still leads us in sacks. He didn’t have a set position for a while in Arizona. Maybe he is a one year wonder but given his pedigree, this could just be a guy getting ready to take off. -

I just can’t believe he can’t gain a bunch of weight just living in Buffalo for a year. I’ve seen many a cute girl suffer that fate. 😞 -
Go get this guy!!! (Kyle Long returning)
C.Biscuit97 replied to glazeduck's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would welcome any Long on this team. Howie and his wife raised awesome kids. Instead of being entitled d bags, they are genuinely doing this to make the world better. Awesome dudes. -
Not sure how anyone can criticize this. Dude is an idiot and one of the biggest busts ever but this is no risk. The Fins just to to him and saw we don’t give a crap where you were drafted. You are basically a 7th rounder. You don’t play well or do anything dumb, you are gone and will have the rest of your life to party because you will be done in the nfl. love this type of moves provided the guy is not an abuser or killed someone. Sometimes it takes get traded for a bag of rocks to wake you up.

McDermott is off to a great start but this is insanely early. Say what you want to about Marv as an X and O, but he still led a team to 4 straight Super Bowls and countless division titles. To get a team to rebound after those losses (in which 3 of them, the Bills were the less talented team) and hold the team together during the bickering bills, is an insanely impressive coaching job. the league is so different with the cap so McDermott won’t need to make 4 straight SBs. But one would be a good start. But it’s an impressive start no doubt. But I think this is when it gets really challenging. Real expectations and a much tighter cap.
