  1. Poor Fish in the cold Fishmonger Mahomes has no pity for fishies.
  2. The fact that he is an alternate implies he was downgraded. He's not going to see the field for the postseason unless something crazy happens.
  3. That's gonna hurt. Unlike the Belichick situation, Carroll was the reason this team was as successful as it was. Don't need to look any further than Russell Wilson and Geno Smith having success here (and Russ' downfall with Denver). I think Seattle is gonna have a tough season. The locals want to draft Penix.
  4. Given it is a 1pm game, if I was flying in, I would be looking at Toronto. It's really easy to get nonstop flights there from most major US airports, and you will have significantly better hotel options.
  5. I feel like the Chargers would be a good fit for Vrabel... perennial underachievers that need a different culture. They have the QB.
  6. Every time I think of Tomlin... this is exactly what comes to mind.
  7. They are going to have to protect the ball. Cook is going to get a lot of carries in this one and I hope they keep Fournette active. If they can keep the turnovers to a minimum and put up 21 or more points, I think they win. I don't see Pittsburgh scoring more than 17 or so.
  8. I think it's the principle more than the money. Comcast is pretty universally loathed as a company and the thought of having to give them more money, on top of the $75-$80 per month we're giving them for mediocre internet, makes a lot of people upset. And I say this as someone who gets Peacock for free. Part of me wonders if the reaction would be the same if, say, Paramount+ or even Amazon had the game. Prime has a much larger subscriber base and has the TNF schedule... so many die hards have it even if they don't shop at Amazon.
  9. Whether we want to admit it or not, there is a big difference between a game on the Saturday night before Christmas involving Easton Stick and a playoff game involving Patrick Mahomes. Buffalo pulls strong from their own market, where the game was available free OTA. Kansas City has a larger national following... and it's a playoff game.
  10. To me, the strongest argument against streaming is that the NFL has an antitrust exemption and any fiddling with the playoff schedule will make, say, the Missouri delegation in Congress take a close look at it. The NFL seems to think they can get away with it. In that list - TNF is streaming, Black Friday is streaming, the international games and Saturday games are now NFLN games. These are games nobody asked for and were sort of forced on us with the move to a 17 game schedule and this whole international series.
  11. I could be wrong, but I just don't see Flacco maintaining that level of play. Their defense is legit though... so maybe we see another one of those 6-3 games if we end up seeing them in the playoffs.
  12. HOME Miami New England* New York Jets Kansas City Chiefs Jacksonville Jaguars Tennessee Titans Arizona Cardinals San Francisco 49ers AWAY Miami New England* New York Jets Baltimore Ravens Houston Texans Indianapolis Colts Los Angeles Rams Seattle Seahawks Detroit Lions
  13. The Fish are Squished Oh Tua, what could have been? Now off to KC.
  14. ... if we had only lost to the Cowboys, we would have been in such better position for tiebreakers.
  15. Trent Green is terrible, I don't understand why he is on CBS' third team. Archuleta is better.
  16. This game has the feel that the officials want the Steelers in.
  17. There are three ways to avoid getting scammed with the move to mobile ticketing - Ticketmaster's resale platform, buying from one of your friends, or finding an established person on a place like TBD. Stubhub, Vivid, or any of those other platforms are unfortunately no longer sure things like they used to be. They no longer verify that the seller actually has the tickets they claim to be selling. Before mobile ticketing, they would have sellers upload pdf tickets, which they would verify before approving the listing. None of that happens now, and if you have a problem (like I did three consecutive times in the last year) - it's a huge ordeal to get your money back. If it's close to the event, you may not be able to get tickets. Stubhub in particular is one I will no longer do business with. If a seller confirms your tickets, they often have until the day before the event to furnish tickets, even if you buy them months in advance. Most sellers will give you the tickets shortly after confirming the sale. But others don't, and I missed a concert because Stubhub refused to help until the day of the event.
  18. I just want to say for the record, our old friend @ieatcrayonz was a prophet: If we had only lost that Giants game, we'd be in much better position to be winning tiebreakers. 4-1 against the NFC is killing us.
  19. Ummm Chase grabbed an official, why is he still playing?
  20. The Fish are sushi Tua won't know what hit him The Bills squish the Fish!
  21. That changes things. I had assumed the WR was at the LOS.
  22. The ref didn't call it because they thought the lineman was ineligible. If that lineman was indeed eligible, it would have been an illegal formation flag. This article explains it well: https://www.shakinthesouthland.com/2012/5/10/3012755/inside-the-clemson-offense-tackle-eligible-formation#:~:text=Covered and uncovered are as,eligible to receive forward passes.
  23. I loved Steve Tasker as a player, but Steve Tasker the announcer could barely put together a coherent thought. Mind you the Tiffany network has Greg Gumbel announcing games at 77, had Verne Lundquist until he was 81, and had Dick Enberg announcing until he was nearly 80.
