Vrabel scares me. Always has, always will. Ugh just flipping around and ESPN2 is airing the Bills at KC AFC Championship game from last January. So frustrating listening to the players mic’d up.

A lot of people have already used the Bills, Eagles, Lions, Chiefs, etc.. in survivor so I'll give you some winners from the other group of teams.. if you need one of these. Vikings Colts Saints Seahawks Chargers

Must be nice for the Texans and Rams to go into Baltimore's stadium and not have to play Lamar. What a gift for them.
-
They're 4-0 and in good shape, I'd be surprised if they fire Babich or anyone really, unless something extraordinary happens like NE racking up 450 yards of offense. F

That's a good point. It's been noticeable that Josh is planted in the pocket on many passing plays and getting the ball out. Several times on 3rd and 7+ he's dumped it off well short of the sticks as the pocket was breaking down. Allen's best passing plays are when he leaves the pocket and throws on the run. Of course that exposes him to injury and I'm sure the Bills are instructing him to play it safe for now, then in playoffs he can do what he does.

I don't feel sorry for them. The organization and the Ravens fans can curl up at night with their Lombardi trophies and lament their injury issues. I feel sorry for the Bills and our fans. Maybe one of the most dominant teams statistically for several years running and we don't even have a SB appearance to show for it, let alone trophies.

This will probably be a close game for much of it. The Bills right now are intentionally holding some things back offensively. They don't want Allen running around and risking himself unless it's absolutely a second half emergency to get the W or close the game out. I can see the Pats trying to play like Miami did. Run the ball, control the clock and keep the Bills O off the field...., use the dump off passing game to convert short 3rd downs. Maye will use his legs a bit. When the Bills rarely beat Brady/Belichek all those years we would go in there and give NE a tough game, I expect the same.

Sauce Gardner is crying, but does he have a point?
zow2 replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree with Sauce. I felt that way during the drought seasons when Buffalo played, especially against the good teams. -
A few random thoughts about the Saints Game - Please share yours as well
zow2 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
My main thoughts are that we don’t have any game breaking WR beyond Shakir. Was hoping Palmer and Keon would step up but being at the game they were quite blanketed. The best receivers are tight ends and Cook. Also, Ray Davis is not special in any way and Ty has regressed. Need to see much more from them. -
The new kickoff rules are working and there's a real strategy to it. The Rams kickoff strategy vs Philadelphia last weekend has been making the rounds. They kicked knuckleballs to the Eagles returners which totally messed them up. Based on these stats through 3 games, the Bills have something that they can definitely improve upon.

Robert Kraft to sell a minority stake of the Patriots
zow2 replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's a copycat league... in all areas. -
Yep. people have short memories. The Saints had the ball on their final possessions with a chance to beat Arizona and SF. Those aren't horrible teams. The Seattle game got away because of 1st quarter special teams plays (punt return TD and blocked punt to set up another TD). Obviously those are one off plays that might happen once a seasons. This spread should be no more than the Miami game, maybe 10.5. It's just that oddsmakers view the Bills in such high esteem they can't get even money on both sides unless it's artificially high.

Ravens at Chiefs - who do you want to have their third loss?
zow2 replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think the Chiefs are gonna win and that is my preference. Baltimore is gonna have a big time MNF hangover from that Lions game. KC is at home and they have the defense to snuff out the Ravens O. -
Week 4, Ain'ts v. Bills, PREDICT THE SCORE!
zow2 replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
After the Miami game, McD challenges the defense to clean up their 3rd down act. Bills 34 Saints 17 -
Very true. Cowherd has been saying this on his show recently. About how time of possession is key because every play your defense is on the sidelines it’s fewer defensive injuries. We have to believe that’s part of the regular season philosophy this year. If we get behind and Allen has to shift to 5th gear then he will.

I don't think this will be the week, but I do think the Bills are going to force the running game so much it will lead to several 3 and outs and cost them a game at some point. Or leave some inferior team in the game too long (like Miami last week). Sometimes during games they get very ground and pound, let's not risk turnovers, etc...

The Amazon pregame show last week interviewed Cook and Keon during the week and aired it during TNF. Such bad television. They both sounded clueless and had nothing to say. Keon is goofy and speaks in slang and Cook is not comfortable speaking on camera, ever. Anyway, regarding the game. New Orleans is overmatched obviously but if they don't allow special teams returns and don't turn the ball over, they might be able to hang in there for a half. A division rival like Miami has some good ideas on how to slow Allen and the Bills. A bad NFC team who never plays Buffalo will not have that slight intangible.

Random talking head says something about the Bills
zow2 replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
The national talking heads have taken notice of the Bills poor 3rd down defense against decent QBs. A couple shows today talked about that aspect of the Bills that will hold them back from winning a SB. -
It is definitely a team accomplishment. I always use the example of the City of Pittsburgh vs City of Buffalo. In their two exceptional era (1970's and 2000's) the Steelers won 6 Super Bowls with Terry Bradshaw and Ben Roethlisberger. In the Bills two amazing era's of 1990's and 2020's we have the big ZERO. But who would you rather have as your QBs, Jim Kelly and Josh Allen? or Bradshaw and BigBen. I mean let's be honest, it's not even close. They had great defense and great coaching that didn't choke games away. It's the ultimate team sport.

It wasn't just the blitz. Did anyone else notice whenever Lamar stepped up in the pocket to run, there was almost always a spy there to slow him down. And in the process of Lamar starting to juke the spy, the D-Linemen that were already well out of the play, had time to run back and tackle Lamar from behind. Often times Lamar didn't know they were coming so he's lucky not to have fumbled a couple times. This was just a great scheme to slow Jackson and great effort by the Lions D-linemen.

Which is the first game we will lose this season?
zow2 replied to Fan in Chicago's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Bills losses will be from 3 categories. 1) They will lose to one very good team. Probably vs. Philadelphia to end the home winning streak. 2) They will lose to one mediocre team on the road. Either @ Atlanta or @ Pittsburgh are on the table. 3) They will lose one head scratcher when they are touchdown favorite. Possibly @ New England Unless they have the 1 seed wrapped up before week 18, I think they finish 14-3. If they rest everyone week 18 it could be 13-4. Prior to the season, I had them finishing 12-5. -
Boy, when you are a team with some expectations and start 0-3, there will be some shakeups....or losing to the Carolina Panthers 30-0. Those situations cannot happen.
