  1. The Jets defense is extremely good.
  2. And shaky penalties at that.
  3. That’s like the tenth really terrible throw by Darnold in a row.
  4. If I am Jets fan, I’m furious - clear dpi goes uncalled yet ticky tack dpis/defensive holds being called on the jets all game.
  5. It's worth watching the embedded clip, where he sounds like he's speaking with some authority about what happened. Him walking back is one of those non-retraction retractions, it seems to me ...
  6. Ya just hate to see it: https://nypost.com/2024/10/04/sports/patriots-own-reporter-says-team-is-teetering-on-mutiny/ Seems to me that all 3 AFC east opponents are in varying states of internal turmoil right now.
  7. Couldn't believe Beane was able to get a draft pick for Ford. He was awful in 2020 and 2021. He has actually started one game for Cincy this year!
  8. Getting Cody Ford vibes yet? He was passably decent (not great) in his first season too before the wheels came off.
  9. Earlier I listened to Devin McCourty on PFT talking about the consequences of the Jets going after Adams. It seems to me that the only way that works is if they trade Garrett Wilson for him because a) Adams would be taking Wilson's position and b) combined with Lazard, it'd be a Rodgers gang. Plus they have Mike Williams, who has looked increasingly explosive over the last couple of games. Wilson is also publicly complaining about the offensive design (which is basically Rodgers's design), so there's that to figure in. It's a really weird situation in that Wilson could end up being the third/fourth guy on that unit despite his immense talent. It'd be crazy to trade him, but I can see the Raiders demanding him and maybe even getting him. Plus he has a ton of trade value given his age and rookie contract. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/if-davante-adams-goes-to-jets-is-garrett-wilson-the-odd-man-out
  10. I will say this -- Baker is a very good player, and it's a real need. He's a huge upgrade and 100 days from turning 29, so not too old yet. Other teams looking to put themselves over the top will want him too, though. That said, is AZ giving up on the season THIS early? Granted, their next two games are at SF and GB, so they could well be 1-5.
  11. We're now at page 24 and I fear that the trade payoff will be the next iteration of Nyheim Hinds.
  12. You're forgetting the great AJ Green trade rumor of 2019. Also, D-Hop in 2023!
  13. Interesting. That said, the Bears are 2-2 and kinda loaded on defense, so I see no reason they'd throw in the towel now. Plus there QB is only going to succeed if he has weapons, and he's one of their two or three best weapons (I think Odunze is #1 and Allen is great when healthy).
  14. I don't even know how to argue with this.
  15. Huh? Cortland and Yankees is not equal to OT loss to the Chiefs/Kyle Shanahan not running the ball vs NE. Not the best of analogies to repudiate what I'm saying.
  16. He's a good player. Why would he want out? He's leading the team in targets and receptions (although the numbers are low given the overall state of that offense).
  17. In an alternative reality that is only slightly different from the real one, the last nine SB winners could have featured these receivers, every one of which put up elite X receiver numbers at certain points in their careers: 2023 season: Brandon Aiyuk (plus Deebo Samuel too) 2022 season: AJ Brown (plus Devonte Smith) 2021 season: Ja'maar Chase (plus Tee Higgins) 2020 season: Mike Evans 2019 season: Tyreek Hill 2018 season: Brandon Cooks 2017 season: Alshon Jeffery 2016 season: Julio Jones 2015 season: Demariyus Thomas Every one of these games was close, with all except the 2018 season SB coming down to the last two minutes/OT. And even that one was tied 3-3 with 10 minutes to go in the fourth quarter. And it wasn't the presence of those receivers that cost the losers those games (ahem, Kyle Shanahan).
  18. check out White's follow-up tweet:
  19. Don't look at numbers -- Kincaid is far more talented than Knox, and it's obvious on the field. Knox isn't a poor talent either. It's just that Kincaid has elite skills. It's not his fault he's seeing many passes right now, but I expect that to change. "Everybody eats" sounds nice, but that'll only get you so far in the NFL and you need to prioritize your best receiving threats.
  20. Well, he did spend a first pick on WR in this draft. Was he ideal? No, but they weren't going to get Odunze or BTJ. I had hope that they might land the latter, but they didn't have the ammo, apparently. In any event, I am quite sure Bean knows it's a hole on the team. Which is why the Bills are reportedly in the mix here.
  21. Issue is, Adams is way, way better than those other two. Hence the salary cost, of course.
