I honestly believe this is all he's capable of. He's not a real NFL talent, he lacks the physical and mental ability to play at this level. It's not his fault he sucks, he has no business playing in the NFL and the coaches are to blame for putting a replacement level player out there and trying to feed it to us that he belongs.

Talent-wise this is true. I suspect he is talking about team-players, which he really has no business being excited about, as they are not any good.

I just know that this team broke my football spirit yesterday. We clearly don't have enough talent to be competitive for at least 2 years. The defense was awful and the offense couldn't beat a college team. We can't address this must talent deficiency in 1 year. I don't think the defense will be the worst in the league, more like middle of the pack. But I don't disagree with the 6 win prediction.

I cannot remember being less enthusiastic about this team going into a year, that Bengals game killed it for me. If we win more than 6 games I will be shocked. It's not like we have an oline full of young guys who need to gel, these are journeymen and we know who these guys are. Peterman/McCarron are the best bets for this time to start the season. If we win a decent amount of games, let them play for a while. If not, pull them and let the Allen era begin around mid-season. I'd like Allen to start Week 8 and spend the rest of the season learning the position at this level. The D has regressed and our Oline is not winning us more than 5 games so we don't have the option to choose "win now"; we're only left with win later.
