I actually liked Rosen the best and thought Darnold was overhyped, but my opinion has flipped. Rosen's accuracy under duress and his inability to finish multiple games this season is a big concern of mine. He also has the sulking, woe is me look when things start to go south with his team, which happened a lot this season. His negative body language is very noticeable, which is a problem. I watched every throw for 4 games for each Rosen and Darnold, and I now believe Darnold is head and shoulders above Rosen. His ability to make free rushers miss and step up in the pocket and still deliver the ball are special. Darnold will be the #1 overall pick.

Not sure if he will be, but I do think at this point at least in the minds of many fans, especially after the Senior Bowl hype, he is being overhyped. I don't think he'll be a top 10 guy. I think he'll go int he 15-30 range. I also have a feeling Josh Rosen won't be going as high as projected right now. I think there's enough concern with his durability and his lack of pocket presence that will scare enough teams away. If the Bills do really like him I think they'll be a chance to move up and get him w/out having to sell the farm....I'm talking somewhere in the 5-12 range. Sam Darnold, by far the best QB in the draft, will be the #1 pick. He is very good. I will be shocked if he's not the 1st pick.

Chiefs trade Alex Smith to washington
Estro replied to Castellar's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I look forward to that if true. Last year he seemed to be very accurate. Do you know him outside of this forum? -
Nobody is trading for a QB that's a poor passer who's due $16M in cash in '18. If we had him locked in for like $12M or less I could see maybe getting a 6th round pick in '19, something like that, but at $16M there will be no takers. Don't forget Tyrod shopped himself last yr. and no one bit at the price the Bills offered, as evidenced by him coming back on a reworked deal, and he was available without having to give up any draft pick compensation. So why would there be a team now that would trade a pick and pay the $16M after what was a much worse statistical season?

Chiefs trade Alex Smith to washington
Estro replied to Castellar's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm guessing the 4 yr. extension Washington gives Alex Smith will be in the $84M range, bringing the total deal to an even $100M over 5 years. Considering, Smith will likely get a $15M signing bonus, not a bad day to be him! It's really a win win for him and the Chiefs. This trade makes the trade up for Mahomes look that much sweeter for the Chiefs, they likely get back close to what they gave up to get him. Cap tip to that franchise. Well done. -

Eric Galko, of optimum scouting, who is pretty plugged in on what's happening in the NFL seems to think Cousins to Denver is a strong possibility. He also states that the Cardinals seems to be Denver's biggest competition for Cousins. He mentioned the Bills possibly being interested in Case Keenum if he springs loose. With Smith off the market, and Cousins likely headed elsewhere I think the Keenum chatter is looking like a real possibility. Does it excite me? Not really, but we don't have to give up a pick, and that is very important to me. For more of Galko's rumors http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/news/nfl-draft-rumors-quarterbacks-sam-darnold-baker-mayfield-josh-rosen/k2o3vl3ntwmv130v4xuwokguq BTW, he already hit on Alex Smith to the Redskins. -
Have you ever been less excited for a SB?
Estro replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm contemplating not even watching. I'll probably end up caving....but to answer your question....No. I could care less. As I get older, I find myself caring less and less about football games outside of Bills games in general. -
There has been plenty of talk about the Bills trading up and trading down in the 2018 NFL Draft. It's that time of year, where the intrigue and speculation of what teams might be thinking come draft day. The excitement this year is ramped up even more with the multiple 1st & 2nd round picks. I thought it'd be helpful to run down the full list of the Bills draft picks and the value each one holds according to multiple draft charts. This way as a fan when you're envisioning different trade up or trade down scenarios you can have an idea of what it'll take to execute those trades. The first value listed is from the infamous Jimmy Johnson trade value chart, the second one is a more updated version since the last CBA which may be a bit more accurate: #21 (800, 260.8) #22 (780, 252.7) #53 (370, 106.3) #56 (340, 98.3) #95 (120, 40.3) I'll fill in the 4th round and later picks after compensatory picks have been handed out. For the record I'm all for flipping one of those 1st round picks for a 2018 2nd & 3rd plus a mid round 2019 draft pick. My dream scenario is heading into day 2 of the NFL draft with three 2nd round picks and two 3rd round picks. You can find a lot of talent in that area

Daniel Jeremiah's Top 50 Prospects in the 2018 NFL Draft
Estro replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First time I've seen the USC QB rated this high, and I have to say I agree. He looks like the complete package. Throw him in there with a group of good RBs I'd love to take in the 2nd round. -
Would love to have a RB with his ability on the roster. I think the 2nd round us likely where he will go too. I think the Bills will be looking to upgrade the RB position this offseason.

Where would Mahomes go in this years draft?
Estro replied to Klaista2k's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mahomes is a future star in the NFL. The Bills made a mistake not selecting him. Rosen has a chance to be nice, but I like Mahomes quite a bit more. Mahomes skill set reminds me so much of Aaron Rodgers. Accuracy is a plus, and his arm is probably the strongest I've seen. He made a throw in week 17 vs. the Broncos that literally made my jaw drop. I posted it a few weeks back, it was amazing. -
Pass. Rudolph sucks. Weak arm, and no where near good enough accuracy to ever be a good starter in the NFL If you don't like Tyrod as a QB than you're not going to like Lamar Jackson. I do think Jackson has the ability to be a more competent passer than TT, but I don't think he'll ever be a good passer. Avg. at best. He misses way too many throws and doesn't have the accuracy necessary to perform at a high level in the NFL.

The MMQB: Dareus Says Marrone is a Changed Man
Estro replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Marcell has done an awful lot of talking the past few weeks. He still seems to lack any type of self awareness, which was a large contributing factor to him being traded. I have one of those feelings he's going to stick a feather in his cap for his teams success this yr. and get into a total mess of a problem this offseason. He's a player you have to constantly worry about when he's not aorund the facility, which once again was a major contributing factor in him being moved off of the Bills roster. -
What would it (realistically) take to get Alex Smith?
Estro replied to NickelCity's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you give up a 2nd rounder you probably feel like you have up too much If you give up a 3rd rounder you probably feel okay. If you give up a 4th rounder you probably feel you got the better end of the deal My personal prediction: Bills give up Rams 2nd round pick & Jaguars 5th round pick for Alex Smith & KCs 5th round pick. -
our new OC, according to BuffaloBills.com What do we think?
-
Give me a bridge QB we can get without giving up drat picks, like a Same Bradford. Then I'll draft Mike White, QB, WKU, with one of my 2nd rounders.

Zay Jones played injured all season...
Estro replied to Domdab99's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Unless both his hands were broken I still have serious concerns about his ability to make contested catches. He was absolutely awful in those contested situations, which is the norm in the NFL -
I will be shocked if the Rams give Sammy the Franchise tag. He is not worth anywhere near that amount. My guess: this noise is coming from Sammy and his agent in an attempt to set a high floor for potential contract offers. I understand the Rams paid a healthy price for Sammy, but there is no way they watch the film from this yr. And think to themselves this guy deserves $15+ million. Not going to happen.

We need a stop gap QB and it can't be Tyrod
Estro replied to BuffaloBud420's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Louis Riddick was connecting Alex Smith to Buffalo today, and it seemed yo be more than just a wild guess. He seemed like he knew something. What will it take to get Alex Smith. A 2nd rounder? A 3rd and a 5th? I think it'll take something like that. He doesn't get me super pumped but you could do a lot worse. He's certainly a step up from Tyrod. With Alex Smith yesterday we probably win by 10. -
Offer the Colts both #1s, our #2, our #3 and next yea r's #1. Luck

Thompson running free.. thanks Romo!!!
Estro replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You forgot to mention what he did on 1st instead, which was immediately throw to his checkdown with plenty of time to still go through his progressions. And the ball ended up being tipped and falling incomplete. It was vintage Tyrod Taylor. Look at his primary read, panic when it's not there and immediately checkdown. He can't read defenses, he is not patient not comfortable sitting in an NFL pocket and going through his reads. I'm glad Tony Romo shows the misses and by misses I mean the throws that were never thrown. -
He may have slightly been interfered with, but you can just as easily say he dropped it to. Zay had as bad of a rookie yr. As one could've feared

Name the biggest NFL misconception by media and fans
Estro replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
punting on 4th down is a given kicking extra points is a given If teams consistently went for 4th and short and went for 2 instead of kicking XP's, teams would win on avg. an additional 1.5 games per yr. according to people way smarter than NFL HC's. Will anyone in the league ever have the stones to play the correct odds? I hope so. 39 receptions, 593 yards, 8 TD's The TD's are good, the receptions and yards are underwhelming, The Rams are going to have a tough call. Can't franchise him as he's no where near that amount of coin. OTOH, will he stick around if he's not franchised? Probably not. I'll be very curious to see how the league values him if he does hit FA. I think smart teams will pass. Can't you just see him in a Redskins uniform?
