  1. Less than 3 weeks out from the draft and there's a lot of rumors and smoke, most of which is nonsense, some though truth. And it's my belief that the Bills would like to trade down in this years draft. Of course they're doing work on a lot of the top 10 guys, as they should, you always have to be prepared to pick a guy at your spot.....but like I said if they had it their way I think they'd love to move down and pick up another premium pick. This sentiment has been tossed around by a few of the twitter guys I think tend to have good info, Eric Galko being one of them. That brings me to the 2 teams I think might mesh with the Bills desire to move down: The Raiders and the Giants. I think both teams would love to take a premium non QB player with their top pick, and then use their second 1st round pick as part of a package to move up and get their QB. The kicker is I don't think either team wants Haskins.....I think it's Daniel Jones and/or Drew Lock that'll be the guy that goes at #9 if the Bills are able to pull off a trade down. Here's how a potential trade down with both of these teams could look: TRADE w/ Giants: Giants get: #9 & #74 (worth 1570 pts. on the draft trade value chart) Bills get: #17, #37 & #95 (1600 pts.) TRADE w/ Raiders: Raiders get: #9 & #112 (1420 pts.) Bills get : #24 & #27 (1420 pts.) I'd love either of these scenarios, as I'm always a fan of trading down. I think we have a good chance 3 weeks from now!
  2. I'm probably taking Andre Dillard, my favorite LT prospect
  3. Looks like Marshall or Eastern Michigan jerseys, ugly......really bad job by whoever's job that was
  4. DK Metcalf Rashan Gary Montez Sweat The look like Tarzan play like Jane prospects always really worry me.
  5. As a matter of principle, I despise trading up in drafts. Hitting on 2nd, 3rd, 4the and 5th round picks is like gold. To surrender the opportunity to draft those players to get the guy you "HAVE" to have is bad business. Quinnen Williams perhaps being the guy of he gets past 3.
  6. Good post. I was thinking the same exact thing last night. I love Wilkins, and he fills a huge position of need as a penetrating 3 tech DT. He's also strong en8ugh to play some nose tackle as well when needed, which gives him versatility, a other trait the Bills love. I was watching some film on him last night and he really impresses. One key trait I like to see in DL is a quick get off. I hate when a DL is slow to pop out of his stance on the snap (shaq lawson). Wilkins routinely is the 1st guy to react to the snap. I think hes going sooner than I've seen in most mocks. I think 6-15 is his range, so I dont think 9 is too soon. He will be a player Side note: Hes got the exact character and love of football that McBeane covet. Guys a big time leader from everything I've read.
  7. Zay jones fetches you at best a 6th rounder and that's only because he has a couple up cheap years left of you can get anything out of him. His stock is low though.....hes shown very little on the field, and his off the field became a concern last year.
  8. No chance. By giving him the 5th year option you are announcing to Lawson and his representatives that his baseline worth is north of $9M per season, whih is the value of the 5th year option for a DE selected between pick 11-32. While some can argue Lawson had a nice year last year and showed some improvement....paying a player like Shaq Lawson $9M a year would be insane. He's at best an average player, and avg. players can be replaced by players playing for much less than $9M a season. If the Bills think Shaq is worth $5-$7M a year they simply can't put the option on him because the player and agent than totally over value their worth.
  9. This was also hinted big time by a guest on the Cowherd show this past week. I can't quite remember who the guest was, but it was at the very end of the interview, and he said it in a manner that made it seem like the Chargers were going to land him.
  10. Murray before pick 9 is a lock Lock before 9 is probable, IMO Haskins before 9 is 50/50 Unlike what you see in the media right now, I think Lock is viewed as a better prospect in NFL circles and if I were to bet I'd be surer about him going in the top 10 than Haskins. My ideal scenario is Murray goes right away, Lock goes somewhere in the 4-8 range and teams that want a QB start calling the Bill's looking to move up for what they view to be the last 1st r 08und quality QB, in Haskins. I'd love to move down about 8-10 spots and pick up an extra 2nd rounder this year and a 3rd rounder next year. More chances at the roulette wheel as far as I'm concerned. That's what the draft is and the smart teams tend to have more chances on the wheel.
  11. If Allen plays 16 games this year I want to see: -3500 yards passing -600 yards rushing -22 pass TD's -6 rush TD's -less than 12 INT's I would consider this nice progress for year 2.
  12. I actually like Andre Dillard quite a bit. Has the chance to be a very good LT, who excels in pass blocking. The Bills seemed to sign OL in FA that excelled especially in pass blocking, so I would think there would be definite interest in Dillard. Plus LT is a premium position, and I'm never against drafting premium positions early. A OL of: Dillard Dawkins Morse Long/Waddle Nsekhe could really be pretty strong:
  13. Cheaper than I imagined. I thought it was going to be in the $4M neighborhood. A well priced gamble, IMO.
  14. Personally, I'd prefer Justin Houston. Houston is 30, and still playing at a very high level. I believe his ask is likely much higher than Ansah's, as it should be.
  15. Many of the defenses Memphis played against were utterly putrid & I've taken that into account, but I think this kid is going to be really good in the NFL. He's quick, fast, and has great vision and contact balance. He also wastes no motion and explodes north south in a hurry. He has the type of juice I'd love to see added to the Bills offense this year. In Year 1, he could be a special teams demon & I believe a real contributor on offense. Think 100-120 touches on offense for 500-650 yards with plenty of explosive plays sprinkled in. Just what the doctor ordered! He reminds me of Devonta Freeman, coming out of FSU. They have almost identical frames and similar hair on fire running styles, although Henderson's 40 yard, vertical & broad jump all show he's a bit faster and more explosive. One potential downside is Henderson has fairly small hands for a RB, which always brings up fumble worries. Top of the 2nd round is a little too early for him, but I'm not sure he's available when we pick in the 3rd. I'd love to trade down in the 1st and pick up an additional 2nd rounder in order to maneuver for Henderson.
  16. Give me Darrell Henderson in the 3rd. I love him. He has the homerun ability that I want in a young RB prospect.
  17. It is a pretty generic comment by Lombardi. Kind of lame to put that out there without some details, which a lot of these guys love to do
  18. At this point I'd be pretty upset if any of them pulled the plug....maybe with the exception of Gore or Kroft who seem more likely to play as reserves. I like both WR signings quite a bit
  19. Let's hope none of the Bills signees has a change of heart prior to these signings becoming official at 4PM today. Lombardi had a tweet early this morning saying hes hearing Barr might not be the only one.....first thing I thought of was Beasley or Brown.
  20. I think trading high picks (which I consider 1st and 2nd rounders) for vets looking for huge $$$ is bad practice in the NFL. Draft picks are gold because the rookie contracts are so low. Just think of the value of contracts like Matt Milano, Dion Dawkins......you're literally paying .10-.20 on the dollar for what that player would be worth on the open market. You are forgoing the opportunity to get a player at a great price only to hand over an astronomical money to a player on his second contract. It's sexy and exciting when it happens, but in the long run it's bad business.
  21. This is one I want to stay away from. I'm all for drafting a 3rd or 4th round back and moving on from Shady, who I think is shot, but I think its foolish to spend heavy at the RB position. I'd much rather have $12-$15M per year be spent elsewhere on the roster, rather than at the RB position. That would be a very foolish move and unfortunately one I could see the Bills making, because they've proven time and time again that they are a foolish franchise.
  22. I really like Noah Fant. He is such a weapon in the passing game and big too....he looks like Gronk, the way he plays
  23. I always find this argument flawed. Just because you have a lot of $$$ doesnt mean you can start handing out reckless deals. Every player needs to be evaluated based on their production and value to the team vs. the amount of money the team is paying them. A $4.5M deal handed out to a player that grades out at best as a replacement level player is a $2-$3M overpay whether you have $100M to blow or you have $0. The team might think Phillips has room to grow, and the 1 year deal, in their eyes, might keep him from becoming complacent.......but based off of his production with the team in '18, he was at best replacement level. I believe the key to roster building is understanding the 30-40 guys on your roster that are the the replaceable parts.....and not fooling yourself into 08 overpaying for them just because their "yours". That means being disciplined enough to not overpay a marginal player who's production can almost certainly be replaced for the veteran minimum.
  24. An average player, I'm hoping the contract shows it. Not saying that in a negative way, average players are valuable in the NFL as long as their salary indicates that. In guessing Jordan Phillip's m8hhtve won this negotiation. Anything more than $3.5-$4M is an overpay IMO
  25. I watched a few of his games last season. He looked sluggish. Lot of negative rushes. Late round flyer, didn't look like a top 4 round pick to me.
