  1. Half the ND players were too busy celebrating instead of jumping on the guy and making sure he was down. Almost cost them!
  2. I think it's completely due to defenses figuring out how to stop it, suspect quality at the wide out position, and having a QB who doesn't have the best arm. I'm really not convinced the Fitz has a weak arm as much as just inaccurate. Last week he over threw two deep balls, then under-threw. So between defenses catching up and suspect QB play is the issue. Add to that last year early defenses didn't know a whole lot about the Bill's receivers either, now they know their strengths and weaknesses too. Probably a strong #2 would help.
  3. On the other side Baltimore had to play their three games in 18 days? They are one of the more glamor teams so there goes that theory. Unless someone wants to do an analysis of every teams schedule over a three or four season period, posts like this prove nothing. I'd be willing to bet if you visit the BB's of other temas you'll find similar posts how their team got screwed by the schedule, thye can't all be right. You also don't know what special requests the Bill's may give the schedule makers which makes other things happen more frequently. By special requests I mean like years back for example they requested no home Monday night games
  4. there is a certain irony here as the OP pointed out how he was injury free.
  5. I think this could be the week that either T Jackson or TT get cut to open up a roster spot. Up till now they were able to keep both, but may have to make a move this week.
  6. I thought he did fire Dehaven, then brought in some buddy of his the next season anf wouldn't fire him. Smith was his last name I believe??
  7. No that's quarters! 4 quarters in football.
  8. What Chan states publicly means nothing. If Fitz were to go down with an injury, then lets see what he says, until that happens it's pretty much a moot point anyway. It just amazes me how so many people seem to believe every word spoken by the Bills must be 100% correct. They are required to tell their fan base everything!
  9. I can't believe how many people here (and oelsewhere) always assume that whatever is stated publicly is what is really the case. Just becasue Chan or anyone else says everything is fine, doesn't mean they really think that. What do you expect him to say; "We suck. Dave W is clueless" Granted there are a small number of coaches who may say that, but no one has ever proven that tactic works any better than keeping things internal. And if you don't believe me I have some land to sell you!
  10. I'm not sure he's over his head as much as just to in love with the pass and doesn't have an elite QB to play that game with. Personally I think coaching is overrated, on the other hand the GM is underrated. Was Marv Levy really an elite coach, no way, but he had the most talented team in the league. Not sure if he couldn't be a real good head coach if he had the players to go along with it. Even if he were OC if he ran the same game plan with the same personal he's stil lbe in trouble. The only difference may be the HC could stranle him until he stops passing practically every down.
  11. I think it means little if nothing. You're backup QB's whether it be #2 or #3 don't get a whole lot of reps mid week to begin with so if Fitz were to go down in a game bringing in TT at that point in the game likely maybe be the best thing as TJ hasn't had much time to learn the offense. He may know the playbook, but likely hasn't had many plays to run the team on the field. You still could bring in TJ in the 4th quarter if he's the #3 if TT is looking real bad. If Fitz were to be out for a couple of weeks, then TJ could get work during the week with the 1st team and could be the starter. The other thing is right now they haven't yet needed the roster spot. If Fred Jackson and CJ were still going to be out for a couple more weeks they would have to make a roster move, then everything that Chan has told you to date about who's #2 or #3 means nothing.
  12. I predict at least one of them will sign over the bye-week. That always seems ot be a popular time for teams
  13. Well they could just go out of business instead! Sounds like that would make you happy. Why not just PAY for the paper. And if you're out of town, then all the more reason to buy the online subscription. Why should reading it online be free when you have to buy the paper edition. Hey no one is forcing you to buy it, but if you don't, then stop complaining. How do you expect them to survive if they give away their product. With all the articles available for free, I can't believe that not reading the D&C article would make a differecne anyway as there are so many others ot read. And BTW, I'm out of town myself.
  14. I'd say there are three holes left between the current roster and being a great team assuming no one of great talnet leaves as a free agent they still need: an outside LB, a legit #1 or #2 receiver, and ideally an upgrade at QB. I'd prefer signing a free agent LB as that takes longer to learn, then bring in a rookie WR with a high draft pick, QB, that's a crap shoot, do you draft someone, sign a FA?? I don't think the Bills will be bad enough to be near the top of the 1st round, and trading up that far can be very expensive. Best chance may be to hope they get lucky with someone drafted in the 2nd round which to be honest, unless you're getting Andrew Lucks twin, you have about the same likelihood of success either way. I'd also like to see around a 3rd rounder on another RB
  15. I agree, would rather see them sit out and be 100% than having him keep playing while somewhat nicked up.
  16. Assuming he doesn't get some big offer from another team, but the Bill's maye resign him as a return specialist and as an extra DB. Before the season started many thought he'd be done after this season, now can see a role for him.
  17. I'd be very surprised if Marcell Dareus doesn't get one because of the emotional toll of the past week. Often players dealing some type of personal issue like this will be given one.
  18. I reset my receiver over the weekend. the arrow keys worked properly today was able to switch between games, so guess it just needed a reboot to fix it. Seems the DTV boxes all need to be reset every month or so. I have the new believe it's called HHR ore something?? 5 tuners, holds 200 hours of HD, but seem to be many bugs in the software, have to reset it once a month or so.
  19. I thought intentional grpunding was a loss of down?? When KC had that called against them ,there was no down loss.
  20. Are you talking about Chan? Or Tony Dungy as all the comments you're stating CG lacks so does Tony Dungy, Likely if I thought some more for every intense coach you can come up with there's one on the other end who's very laid back, like say a Marv Levy. I'd even argue that Bill Belichick is laid back, kind of a different style, but not all that intense on the sidelines. There always have been and always will be both styles and both do work, just depends on the players and mainly the talent.
  21. I've often said the same thing, just becaue there's no public plan doesn't mean there isn't a plan. RW may not have told Larry Felser his plans, doesn't mean there's not a plan. RW has enough wealth outsdie the family t okeep them in good shape. It's also possible that RW may have some type of plan that gives Kelly or anyone who wants to keep the team in Buffalo first right of refusal.
  22. I do agree with you, the coaching staff doesn't play to Fitz strength which is handing the ball off! I say that in all seriousness, CG needs to run the ball and not rely on Fitz arm to win games, just let him mange games, run the ball and hopefully the D will improve which would be impossible not to happen considering where the bar was set.
  23. There is some truth in what you're saying, it's also possible the Jet's are much better than people thought. On the other hand tape or no tape can't explain away Fit'z terrible passes. You don't need to tape to be able to see that a defender is right in front of your receiver. I also think emotionaly the Jet's had more to prove as everyone was writing them off and making fun of them, while the Bill's were being praised. I do agree next week will tell alot, if the Jet's go into Pitt and win then they likely are better than many thought, though even with a loss they still may be better than thought as I really doubt Pitt will lose their home opener to anyone following an opening game road loss.
  24. McKelvin certainly struggled, but taking the knee with 20 seconds to go in the half and you're getting the 3rd quarter kickoff was the right thing to do.
  25. Just tried it on my other TV which does have an HD DVR attached and it works as you described. Maybe TV apps just doesn't work at all on receivers?? Only DVR's?? I'll try posting again during week when more DTV experts are around, maybe they will know. Thanks for the suggestions BTW, I'm down the road from you in Wilmington.
