  1. He was there guy last year, but I doubt they expected this leve lof play either. They will continue to tell everyone he's their guy until they select his replacement, then the new guy will be brought in to complete. Then he becomes the new starter. Unless there's a better option on the roster which right now is unlikely, they will continue to tell everyone he's their guy. That's all it means.
  2. OK, but thats more on the play calling than on Fitz. I was hoping for a QB bootleg, at worst it would have kept the clock moving and maybe even get a first down out of it.
  3. Can you show me that card?? From everything you hear and observe, most teams don't go for two until maybe five minutes or so to go as too much can change by going for it early. On the drive where Fitz had the INT, if we go down and get a field goal we're up by nine. If we went for two and failed, then we're only up eight and Tenn could tie with a TD and 2 point conversion. Tenn hadn't stopped the Bills' all game so was very good chance they could get at least a field goal out of it. That's the argument as to why not to go for two.
  4. While I don't disagree with any of your comments about Fitz, I can't blame him on the loss when he drove down the field for five long scoring drives, didn't need to punt until was half way through the 4th quarter. He was blind sided on the fumble, more an O-line thing than on him and you often see fumbles result from that. One Int while it was a terrible pass and terrible call, can't blame him for playing a one int game. I was hoping for the QB bootleg that they did earlier a couple of times with success. I put the blame on the D who could not stop anything all 1st half and half of the second. The problem I do see with Fitz among many is his game plan how he manged the game was good, dink and dunk, we have guys who are good at YAC, let them keep moving the chains and mix it in with the occasional 20 yarder when you have the chance. That's not a bad game plan as long as you're ahead. But with a minute left and the D knows you have to gain 15 to 20 yards at a clip, Fitz can't do it. That's the problem with Fitz!
  5. Yes but on the drive where Fitz had the INT, if we go down and get a field goal we're up by nine. If we went for two and failed, then we're only up eight and Tenn could tie with a TD and 2 point conversion. Tenn hadn't stopped the Bills' all game so was very good chance they could get at least a field goal out of it. I thought it was the correct thing to do as too much time left to go for two. Tenn had 4th and 8, we stop them get the ball back assume in that situation we run three times, gain very little and punt it back. If we had stopped the clock earlier Tenn would then have much more time to score. At the time it happened, I thought it was mistake on Tenn part not to stop the clock earlier. Lately too the Bill's were stopping Tenn some so wasn't totally out of the question that we'd stop them again.
  6. Actually I thought it was a mistake on Tenn part not calling a time out earlier rather than letting it wind down. It's 4th and 8, if the Bills stop him., they get the ball they run three times and punt, Tenn may still has time left to go back down and score so if you're taking the time out anyway, may as well take it earlier in case you need the time later. On the int, I thought they should have ran that Fitz bootleg play again that worked earlier
  7. I think the best way to use him would be to hide him in your offense, hide him in a nook someplace!
  8. He may get cut, but he won't be traded as he has no trade value.
  9. It tells you that at the time they had better options, bow due to injury it was worthwhile to bring him back. Hope that answers your questions about the staff!
  10. There was no blunder, he just couldn't get to the ball and keep it in play without touching the endzone. See it happen quite often during games.
  11. If we were 0-7 maybe they'd make a change but either 3-4 or 4-3, there's not going to be any change unless somehow the Packers cut Aaron Rodgers and we sign him, then maybe. Anything short or Rodgers, Brady, Rivers, and Brees, we're not making a change!
  12. Schedule is set based on where you ended in what division. Not only who they play, but where they play. I believe there is some flexibility in scheduling say for example every 4 years the Bills and SF play, well in 2016 the game may end up in SF again, if in 2020 for a third time in a row the game was set for SF, they may make an adjustment to play the game in Buffalo instead. But they try to keep these things to a minimum as it's just simply changing the site of the Bill's game, now they also need to change two other teams in the series of AFC east vs NFC west and there may not be another easy one to change so it's not a guarantee.
  13. Half the ND players were too busy celebrating instead of jumping on the guy and making sure he was down. Almost cost them!
  14. I think it's completely due to defenses figuring out how to stop it, suspect quality at the wide out position, and having a QB who doesn't have the best arm. I'm really not convinced the Fitz has a weak arm as much as just inaccurate. Last week he over threw two deep balls, then under-threw. So between defenses catching up and suspect QB play is the issue. Add to that last year early defenses didn't know a whole lot about the Bill's receivers either, now they know their strengths and weaknesses too. Probably a strong #2 would help.
  15. On the other side Baltimore had to play their three games in 18 days? They are one of the more glamor teams so there goes that theory. Unless someone wants to do an analysis of every teams schedule over a three or four season period, posts like this prove nothing. I'd be willing to bet if you visit the BB's of other temas you'll find similar posts how their team got screwed by the schedule, thye can't all be right. You also don't know what special requests the Bill's may give the schedule makers which makes other things happen more frequently. By special requests I mean like years back for example they requested no home Monday night games
  16. there is a certain irony here as the OP pointed out how he was injury free.
  17. I think this could be the week that either T Jackson or TT get cut to open up a roster spot. Up till now they were able to keep both, but may have to make a move this week.
  18. I thought he did fire Dehaven, then brought in some buddy of his the next season anf wouldn't fire him. Smith was his last name I believe??
  19. No that's quarters! 4 quarters in football.
  20. What Chan states publicly means nothing. If Fitz were to go down with an injury, then lets see what he says, until that happens it's pretty much a moot point anyway. It just amazes me how so many people seem to believe every word spoken by the Bills must be 100% correct. They are required to tell their fan base everything!
  21. I can't believe how many people here (and oelsewhere) always assume that whatever is stated publicly is what is really the case. Just becasue Chan or anyone else says everything is fine, doesn't mean they really think that. What do you expect him to say; "We suck. Dave W is clueless" Granted there are a small number of coaches who may say that, but no one has ever proven that tactic works any better than keeping things internal. And if you don't believe me I have some land to sell you!
  22. I'm not sure he's over his head as much as just to in love with the pass and doesn't have an elite QB to play that game with. Personally I think coaching is overrated, on the other hand the GM is underrated. Was Marv Levy really an elite coach, no way, but he had the most talented team in the league. Not sure if he couldn't be a real good head coach if he had the players to go along with it. Even if he were OC if he ran the same game plan with the same personal he's stil lbe in trouble. The only difference may be the HC could stranle him until he stops passing practically every down.
  23. I think it means little if nothing. You're backup QB's whether it be #2 or #3 don't get a whole lot of reps mid week to begin with so if Fitz were to go down in a game bringing in TT at that point in the game likely maybe be the best thing as TJ hasn't had much time to learn the offense. He may know the playbook, but likely hasn't had many plays to run the team on the field. You still could bring in TJ in the 4th quarter if he's the #3 if TT is looking real bad. If Fitz were to be out for a couple of weeks, then TJ could get work during the week with the 1st team and could be the starter. The other thing is right now they haven't yet needed the roster spot. If Fred Jackson and CJ were still going to be out for a couple more weeks they would have to make a roster move, then everything that Chan has told you to date about who's #2 or #3 means nothing.
  24. I predict at least one of them will sign over the bye-week. That always seems ot be a popular time for teams
  25. Well they could just go out of business instead! Sounds like that would make you happy. Why not just PAY for the paper. And if you're out of town, then all the more reason to buy the online subscription. Why should reading it online be free when you have to buy the paper edition. Hey no one is forcing you to buy it, but if you don't, then stop complaining. How do you expect them to survive if they give away their product. With all the articles available for free, I can't believe that not reading the D&C article would make a differecne anyway as there are so many others ot read. And BTW, I'm out of town myself.
