  1. Trump is doing no such thing. The first amendment says that government cannot stop you from saying what you want. It doesn’t say the NFL or the Buffalo Bills can’t. When you work somewhere, your First Amendment rights fall under the policies of your employer. The team owners and the league have every right to restrict these protests should they desire to do so. If they don’t, I hope the fans turn off their TV sets and radios, refuse to purchase any products or services advertised during the games, and walk out of the stadiums. As the President suggests. Another way to put it is the free speech clause of the first amendment does not grant anybody immunity from the consequences of what they say. Brandon Marshall of the Denver Broncos found that out the hard way. After he joined the anthem protests last season, he lost two lucrative endorsements. One with a local cable and internet provider. Another with a Denver area credit union. A lot of people may not like it, but the Constitution of the United States gave those private companies the right to fire Brandon Marshall.
  2. Two questions. Is Anthony Lynn going to remain running backs coach in addition to his new responsibilities as OC? Secondly, what exactly is Chris Palmer's role with the team? His title is Senior Offensive Assistant. Whatever that means. When you consider that he's had both head coaching and offensive coordinator experience in the league, I'm surprised Rex didn't promote him over Anthony Lynn.
  3. I’ve been a DTV customer for 19 years. Back in June, after we moved, I called them to come out to the new house to hook up my DTV receivers. The rep I spoke to said they would give NFL Sunday Ticket Max free of charge as a house warming gift. Last week my bill came. They are giving me Sunday Ticket Max at no charge. But they billed me for the regular Sunday Ticket that I’ve had since I’ve been with them. (This year six payments of $44.99). I feel I was deceived. When they said I’d get the Sunday Ticket Max for free, I thought they meant the whole package free of charge. Not that I would still be paying for the basic package. With Max added at no additional cost. Any thoughts?
  4. If you can’t offer an intelligent response to my posts, maybe you shouldn’t respond at all.
  5. Ok. The game is going to be on TV. There is a Yahoo file that a number of people posted which lists all the ways you can watch the game on the internet. Find the file here: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/sports-news/SLN26708.html?impressions=true Problem is, for those living outside the viewing area of Buffalo’s channel 4 you won’t be able to record the game for later viewing. It seems a downgrade of the fan experience that I haven’t heard anyone adress. With everything I have to do on Sundays, I’m seldom able to sit in front of my TV before 2 or 2:30 in the afternoon. Don’t know what I would due without my DVR. This game starts at 9:30am eastern time. At that hour on a Sunday morning, if we’re not sleeping in, a lot of us are at church. Or getting the family ready for church. Not being able to record the game for viewing from the beginning when we get home, is stupid. I don’t know what the league is thinking. It’s especially unfair to Bills fans in the Rochester area. Better than 15% of season tickets holders are from Rochester. Additionally, its been said that without the support of corporate Rochester, the Bills could not survive in WNY. That is no way to treat such a large and important piece of you fan base.
  6. 1. Except for the seasons first game and Thanksgiving Day, no more Thursday or Saturday games during the regular season. 2. All other games kickoff on Sunday at 1PM and 4PM eastern time. Except for one Monday night game. Which would start at 9pm as it did for the first 30 years of its existence. And I would put it on one of the over-the-air broadcast networks. Probably NBC since they currently do such a good job not only with the game, but with their Football Night in America program. 3. No more reviews. Sure the officials will occasionally get a call wrong. It’s part of the game. 4. No more dome or retractable roof stadiums. Football is meant to be played out of doors in elements. For those teams that currently play in a retractable roof stadium, I would require the roof be open no matter what the weather. For those that play in domes, the league would assume the costs of converting them to open-air stadiums. 5. The Super Bowl would be played at the home field of one of the participating teams. No more neutral sites. The only reason I ever heard for doing so was late January, early February weather in the northeast and mid-west. If conference championship games can be played in places like Orchard Park, Green Bay, Foxboro, or Pittsburgh in mid-January, there’s no reason why the Super Bowl can’t be played there two weeks later. 6. I’d make the extra point and two point conversions live plays. What I mean is the clock would start when the ball is snapped, if there is a blocked kick, fumble, or interception, the defense would be allowed to advance the ball just as they do on a regular play.
  7. I don't recall specifics, but I believe that Ralph was ticked off because Saban quit on him twice. He resigned following the 1965 season, was re-hired in 1972, then quit again part way through the 1976 season. When he quit the second time, Ralph reportedly promised him that he would never again work in the NFL. He never did. Coincidence? We'll probably never know.
  8. People have said that Snyder and the Redskins haven’t handled this name change controversy very well. But does anyone really believe they would be that stupid as to issue a press release about a plaque hanging in their office that really didn’t exist. I think not.
  9. I should have credited Dan Snyder with the info I provided about the Red Cloud Athletic Fund. My mistake. What is your source for saying that George Allan created that fund? Your source for saying the school denounced the name “Redskins”? Can you provide a link to the letter they sent to the Washington Post, accusing Snyder of misrepresenting their role in developing the logo? I too love debate. It make my blood boil when people post as fact things they can’t prove.
  10. Over the past few years, my daughter has purchased the NFL Sunday Ticket as a birthday present for both me and my son. I really didn’t like her spending that kind of money on me, but she knows both me and her brother are big football fans. And we both appreciate it. I thought DirecTV lowered the Sunday Ticket price to $199 for this season. But I recently learned that she paid almost $300. She was paying $49.99 a month since July. Was my info about lower prices wrong? Or was she being ripped off?
  11. Joshua Barber and Nicholas Kaiser who allegedly recorded a private conversation between Buddy Nix and Tampa Bay GM Mark Dominik are now facing federal charges that could see them imprisoned for five years. All for a non-violent crime that hurt no one. While they may have broken the law and deserve some kind of punishment, do they really deserve to go thru life with a felony conviction on their record? All for a harmless prank, where they had no criminal intent? Where is the excuse making in the media for these guys? As there is in the media every time a professional athlete gets into trouble. We always here how they are just young guys who need to mature and grow up. Shouldn’t the same standard apply to Barber and Kaiser? After all, they’re only 20 years old. As an example, a couple weeks ago, John Murphy, after interviewing Da’Rick Rogers on his nightly show, made it clear how much he believed in giving people a second chance. But last night he wasn’t talking about second chances when reporting on Barber and Kaiser’s indictment. I got the impression he wanted them severely punished for what they did.
  12. What does this player hope to gain by proclaiming to the world that he’s gay? As long as we’re talking about consenting adults, I don’t care who sleeps with who. But there had got to be something seriously wrong with people who feel the need to lead with their sexual orientation. And demand acceptance and inclusion based on that orientation. If they would just keep their mouths shut and their sex lives private, nobody would care what they do. Pope Frances is right. Same-sex marriage is of the devil. It is demonic in origon. Buffalo’s late, great mayor, Jimmy Griffen, hit the nail on the head when he said, “They’re not gay, they’re fruits.”
  13. I don’t understand why the NFL is forcing the Super Bowl Champs to open on the road. The Baltimore Orioles have a four game home stand against the White Sox September 5 thru September 8. Wouldn’t the simplest solution be for the Orioles to move the Thursday September 5th game to Saturday or Sunday. Making it part of a weekend double-header. Doesn’t major league baseball do that sort of thing all the time to make up for games that were canceled because of inclement weather? I’m sure if asked, the Orioles would cooperate.
  14. I don’t follow college football. Never heard of Ryan Nassib until after the Bills hired Marrone as their head coach. The National Football Post < http://www.nationalf...otballpost.com> lists Nassib as number one on their list of top 200 draft prospects. I don’t know how much faith to put in their rankings. But if he is that good, maybe the Bills should take him at number 8. If they believe he is the answer, don’t risk losing him to someone else.
  15. I have never liked the idea of the Super Bowl being played in neutral or domed or warm weather site. The game should be played in the home field of one of the participants’. You would have a much better game. “Real fans” that live and die with their team would make up the vast majority of those in attendance. Not celebrities or corporate types. The only reason I ever heard for not doing so was the weather in this part of country during January and February. But the way I look at it, is if you can play a conference championship game in places like Buffalo and Green Bay in mid January, you could also play the Super Bowl their two weeks later.
