OK in 2 hours will be June 1st. Time to start the annual 20 page thread about what kind of a deal and how much everyone got off Sunday Ticket. I'm trying to decide if better to call now and see what I get or wait until closer to season. When do they offer more? Personally I'm looking for hardware of $$ off, want a mini Genie, but will settle for both.

Is anyone else worried about Da'Rick Rogers
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to bufffan031's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The free agent rookie we signed. Maybe there was a reason he was free agent. -
Andre Reed wants to coach

Good thing this wasn't posted Jan 1! There would have been a dozen threads here advocating him to be the next head coach. would have made perfect sense. -
So is Buddy done after the draft?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One fact is front office contracts expire May 1st. Is it this year for Nix, don't know, but it's still the logical time. Didn't Modrek go after the draft?? -
Reason we "reached" for QB in round one.
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to buffaloboyinATL's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The other big point too is the Bill's picks didn't match what Mel Kiper and company are going to say as to when players are to be drafted. All 32 teams made Mel and company look stupid by not drafting Geno Smith, or a number of other players the "experts" said would go in 1st round. Mel, Todd, etc can't stand up and say all 32 teams are clueless so the easy thing to do is to rip the teams that take players before they think they should have gone. So pile on the Bill's! -
So is Buddy done after the draft?

I've been saying that for over six months. Front office contracts typically run through May 1st so that's another nail in the coffin. -
RIP Pat Summerall
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I believe it was emptying the hotel mini bar Enberg isn't dead too is he? Did I miss that one? I recall in the early years Summerall was paired with Gifford on CBS Some one mentioned Brookshier, I recall him doing the old AFL games on NBC, think he did the Heidi Bowl, can't recall who he was partnered with in the late 60's, don't think it was Enberg back then -
Bills pre-season opponents announced

Is there a date on when the regular season schedule will be released? Usually it's around the fisrt week in April I believe?? -
Cool and Calm look at Bills moves
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Of all the people we lost, the only one worth talking about is Levitre. Yes in theory we are worse today at WR and LB than we were on Jan 1st. but we also sucked at those two positions on Jan 1st so not much of a lose -
Who's Herm??

Bills officially sign QB Kevin Kolb
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Absolutely agree with you!! Oh wait you're talking about Nassib??? I thought you were referring to Johnson. There's one huge difference between these two moves, Kolb has started and played a number of games. We traded for Johnson based on what was it one half of one game performance by RJ? For better or worse, you know alot more about Kolb and gave up nothing other than $$ for him. Actually there is one similarity to the Rob Johnson signing. At the time I felt that Flutie kind of got hosed in the deal as I doubt he ever would have signed with Buffalo if he had known they were giving up a #1 pick to bring in another QB. This time around while not nearly as big a difference between the two, I wonder if Jackson would have signed here again had he known they were going to sign Kolb. He may have figured he had a year to start and tutor a rookie, that's now changed. -

Buddy = Hypocrite

And after woods will be Glenn due. Likely in another two years with the going rate going up every year for everyone and him being a left tackle, likely to sign him would be over $10 mil., So take Probably 8 or 9 for wood plus 10 for Glenn, had they signed AL, you'd easily have $40 mil on your O-line. Everyone here keeps hoping to sign a franchise QB, if they ever get lucky and do find someone, that will likely cost another $20 mil by then. If they were one player away from goign to Super bowl can see over paying. -
Saw a really funny line in a Column on Fox news written by Jen Floyd Engel: Judging a team by their amount of action on the first day of the NFL league year is kind of like judging porn on its dialogue. So for everyone ready to jump off the ledge take heed! Guess I should link the article http://msn.foxsports...-exposed-031413 I'm probably breaking some TBD copyright rules, but just thought that line was too good to pass up.

OG Chad Rinehart signs with Chargers
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to BRAWNDO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You mean like how everyone one is screaming that we should have over paid for Andy L?? Granted he was better than mediocare, but we would have been over paying to keep him at the $8 mil level. -
And They Say It's a Copy Cat League ?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So looking at your list of coaches I see: A re-cycled head coach who was hired here who was successful prior in LA and also did well here: Chuck Knox A re-cycled head coach who was hired here who was middle of the road at best prior in KC and did extreamly well here: Marv Levy An assistant coach promoted to head coach and was a complete failure: Hank Bullough and I believe also Kay S? An assistant coach promoted to head coach and did pretty well as a head coach, maybe would have done better if RW didn't get rid of him though from what I've seen what he id here in Buffalo is about all ytou'd expect from him: Wade Phillips An up and coming great assistant who did very poorly as a head coach: Greg Williams A re-cycled head coach who was who was middle of the road at best prior and did even worse here: Dick Jaron and Chan Gailey Seems the Bill's have tried just about every option, some worked well, most didn't. Guess I don't see a point or more importantly a pattern?? -
Hey Niagara You've added a number of rebuttle posts, why do you keep ignoring this one? Please explain it?? Could the Bills have afforded the 7 mil this year, sure, probably even next year would have been OK, but at some point you're going to be in trouble when giving that much to a guard. It two years what's Glenn going to want and next season is Wood. As someone tried to make the point about Menken, if you're one or two players away from being in the Super Bowl, it's worth over paying. But that's not the case here. And you guys know this for a fact how?? Maybe they never had any in-depth discussions as they could sense AL was asking way more than they felt he was worth. While this may be deemed no contact, they could also have asked his agent, have his contract demands changed at all, no, OK thanks! Easily portrayed as no contact, but not really true. There are times I belive when teams can if they are in the game or not. And if not, why bother.

FO Changes still Need 2 B Made @ 1 Bills Dr.
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First off wasn't he in the league more years than allowed to be tendered?? It's been awhile, don't recall, but seems this was his second contract when he came here, hard to believe he wasn't beyond the tender range. But lets not actual rules get in the way of a good rant here. Historically very few tendered players ever go anywhere as teams won't give up the draft picks. So most likely thing would have been either we'd have kept DD, signed him to the tender contract (assuming he actually was eligible), could have cut him after that, but that money would have counted against Buffalo's total salary cap so possible could have prevented us from signing someone else. Tender contracts are usually low, but again question whether he was even eligible for that. Teams have fired coaches all the time maybe one season after re-signing a contract. Jax just did it, In the NBA the Lakers did it one season and four games later. I'd think it would have been worse to keep him because they just resigned him, but they didn't. To me that's a good thing. I think you need to get a dose of reality and probably wouldn't hurt to actually learn the rules before posting. -

Johnny Manziel - QB - Texas A & M
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to 4merper4mer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I do agree that if he sued I'd give him in a very good chance of winning the lawsuit, but would likely take about five years for it to happen. And when he win's the the Bill's could also sue to get back the draft pick they forfeited when they selected him. So I guess that does mean I'm agreeing
