What about Russ Brandon?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to montanafan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It wouldn't shock me to see these two guys have now become "trust babies" thanks to RW. Essentionally think of it as a pension. So who exactly are you suggesting for GM. Where are all these proven names flying around. Matt Millon is a big name and he's available. The only big name available GM's are guys out of football. Same goes for coaches. Everyone should stop this facination with Bill Cowler and similar names. Whaley is exactly the kind of guy you want as GM, a young guy who has made more good moves than bad in the past two seasons. With TP owning two teams, he likely will need a strong active president to run things as he won't likely have the time to follow up on all the details. I can't think of a better person for that role than Russ. I don't follow the Sabres enough to know, but likely will need a similar person there too if he doesn't already have one in place. -
Where is the NFLPA and DeMaurice Smith?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Luxy312's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think the NFLPA is dumb enough to try to defend Rice. Right now Roger is getting skewered for this entire thing left and right. Why would the NFLPA want to share the blame with Roger and be dragged down with him, particularly when so many players came out and blasted Rice too. Could be players have threatened to quit the union if it tries to defend him much. -
Pending League Approval
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to BillsFanInLA's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Unless there were 10 likely people to vote no, there's no point in it other than to piss off the new owner when you never down the road, you may need his vote on something. As was pointed out in other threads, you don't get to be where these guys are and do things out of spite or pettiness. Actually wouldn't even be surprised to hear that JJ and TP have had their paths cross a fair amount as both are in similar businesses. -

Round 3: Sale of the team

I heard it the other way, that he plans to move Toronto to Buffalo and then move the Maple Leafs down to the AHL as the Sabres farm team. -

Round 3: Sale of the team
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OK, so how did that work out when they are in different cities?? Maybe Seatle and Portland were considered close enough and no other competing teams in Portland. But St Louis and Denver?? How's that work? -
Round 3: Sale of the team

So I know there's been pages of threads/jokes about whether TP can own the Sabres and the Bill's. Not that I feel this would make any difference, but just curious and got me thinking about it, does any NFL owner also own another sports team? What about other sports?? Seems there are some dual hockey-basketball owners out there, pretty certain the Rangers and Knick's are still both owned by MSG, but any others? What about in baseball or football? Of the top of my head, can't think of any? -
But what about Dinsaur BBQ? I no longer live in wester nNY, that is one place I do miss!

Fantasy Football Help!
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Braedenstearns's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Typically choose RB's with your first and maybe even second pick unless you're drafting late in 1st round, then go either for a great QB or WR You know it's funny you mention that as I was drafting my team last week, I was getting nervous as I seemed to be selecting a high percentage of white guys. -
Make Wall of Fame Right
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to jahbonas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So two good years out of five. What he did in Seattle may prove he was very good coach, but unless it was done in Buffalo, it has no bearing IMO of whether he makes the wall or not. If he had four or five of ten good years, I'd say yes, but reallty don't think he was here long enough -
So are you saying they shouldn't re-signed Carpenter and stuck with Hopkins who BTW has never kicked at all in a regular season game? Or do you blame the FO for drafting Hopkins knowing full well he was going to get hurt in training camp? Cohen has been on like six teams in three years, do you think there may be a reason for that? And he's trying to crack one of the deepest best positions on the roster. But hey don't let facts get in the way of bashing the FO.

Knox was here what three or four years?? Yes they made the playoffs some, but not here long enough IMO to make the wall -
Tight Ends Starting to Become Available
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to The Dean's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The only issue I have with him, seem to recall him him getting a number of holding calls against him at rather critical times. If it were Chandler who's considered an average blocker I'd say OK fine, but for the guy who's on the team for his blocking abilities seemed to get called too often. -
Bills' Cuts to the 53 Man Roster Limit
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So we have a gay punter and one coming from San Fran?? Do they plan to be roommates? -
First off, I'm a bit surprised they cut him from everything stated and seen. But to rip the Bills from office as another example of being clueless is even a bigger example of being clueless! He's been on like six teams in about three or four years, and DT is one of the deepest positions on the Bill's starting with two pro bowl players and yet the Bill's were idiots for cutting him. LOL To those ripping this cut, get a life and stick to something you actually understand as football knowledge obviously is not your strength.

On top of Vanilla 4 out of 5 different O-line players from week prior per position, plus no Sammie. Lets give the O-line two weeks of playing together same guys in same positions. -
Yes and you for one can easily reconginze HC material. That's why you're posting on a message board. If the new owner is TP, think you're going to be real disapointed. Likely the end of this year the only change I see coming if the Bills don't show improvment is they dump Hackert and bring in a new OC. Unles the new owner has a hand picked guy he's real close with doubt either RB or DW go anywhere and likely Marrone will be given at least one more year. And likely thye'll blame any lack of improvement by EJ on the OC too, so doubt they'd give up on a #1 pick after two seasons. Probably would see a new OC and bring in an experienced backup and have a competition for the job.

It was reported that Moorman has been punting left handed this pre-season to save wear and tear on his leg.
