  1. I'd be very happy if he improves half the amount next year as he did this year. Add some better weapons around him and would be looking good. He's always going to have some accuracy issues, but the other side is he can make throws that very few others can.
  2. What about Derrick Henry? He's a FA or is the assumption he'll never hit the market? Would think he's be an even better compliment to Singletary.
  3. Actually noticed in yesterdays OT, Minn called head too. Maybe "tails never fails" is old school?
  4. Don't think I'd start cutting players until you need the cap space. With their current TE's do they need Tyler Kroft, probably not. But lets get thru the off season and pre-season first, see who may get hurt, then release him when getting down to 53. Or maybe some other teams TE gets hurt, and could trade him. If you need the cap space sooner fine, then make the cuts, but doubt they'll eat up all the cap that quickly. I'd draft DE in 1st round then WR. My thinking is it's easier to find good WR's who are FA than it is pass rushing defensive ends. 3rd round O-lineman
  5. Pats defense was just as good if not better and it didn't help much there. Brady and Allen are so dissimilar, not sure there'd be much to learn. Plus Brady would probably insist they trade Allen as doesn't want him looking over his shoulder.
  6. During the game they also mentioned that Metcalf was very undisciplined early in the season when it came to route running. That doesn't sound like a good match with Allen. Alot different too when you have Russell Wilson throwing you the ball.
  7. But Waddle was out way before Ty got hurt and even before they signed Bates. Judging from the Jets game think the team would have been in much worse shape with Bates in there for 7 games was it?
  8. I don't know if it was panic or just not thinking straight. That play would have been fine if there were around 15 seconds left in the game or was on 4th down. Maybe he just lost track of things. As they say with rookies all the time, as they play more, the game slows down, think that's still needed for Josh. I thin kit's tougher too for any player, but in particular for a QB coming from a college program where you were the best player on the team and everything was on you. Take a guy like Trever Lawrence, likely will be the 2021 #1 overall pick. There are still many other players on that team who are just as talented. For Allen very little competition.
  9. I think the attempted lateral warrants Mcd's comment about doing too much.
  10. Could have been the thinking was Metcalf was going to last one more round. 26 picks later almost made it. Not sure how effective Metcalf would have been with an inexperienced QB. Easy for him to look good catching passes from Russell Wilson. And who would have been your RT once Ty got hurt?
  11. Everyone tends to rip McD over clock management. Sean Peyton has been coaching for close to 15 years now, think he screwed up big time. On the 3rd down sack of Minn. there was around 2:45 left when they wound the 40 second clock down meaning Vikes would need to punt with something more than 2:05 left unless the Saints used their last time out. I understand not wanting to take your last TO with over two minutes left, but need to think things thru. He should have easily figured out that there's a good chance the punt which upon change of possession stops the clock automatically is going to end up including the two minute warning, so you lose a stoppage. What happened, Vikes punted with 2:07 left, including the return clock went down to 1:55 and ow have a stoppage for change of possession and two minute warning. If he had called his last TO with 2:45 left, take the twelve seconds away for the punt and return would have likely still left him with about 2:32. Saints could have easily ran two completions to the middle of the field or four plays either incompletions or player going out of bounds before the two minute warning. Two completions could have netted him 20 to 25 yards field position, would have given them a reasonable shot at throwing a pass into the end zone for a TD. And by the way the regulation ended with the Saints still having the TO in their pocket.
  12. My take all along over the summer was, if it was regular season, he'd be out there, but in pre-season, let him sit and get 100% over it.
  13. Yes they can, but unfortunately the court is busy right now still trying the case from last years New Orleans game. When they rule on that the Bills will be next!
  14. If he is,barring a huge improvement then the team didn't do enough to improve in the off season.
  15. None of the above, I blame the defense for allowing Houston to cross the goal line 4 times in last twenty minutes or so of regulation. If you want to blame McD for that then OK, but more put it on the players.
  16. The problem isn't Duke playing, the problem is whether it's Duke, McKenzie or Foster as the #2 WR doesn't scare any defenses at all. Duke played OK considering the situation. The real issue the entire season was the regression of Foster. I wonder if they had realized Foster was never going to improve all year if they had to do it all over, would they have traded Zay? Maybe it will come out now that Foster had some type of injury, but my suspicion is his issue is between his ears, or maybe more in his chest. IMO the Bills need to sign a FA WR, and unless it's Amari Cooper I'd just as soon see them save money and diva time and sign a possession guy but with size and draft i n the 2nd round another WR. Assuming that happens, two new guys, plus Beasley, Brown and Roberts, leaves little room for Duke, McKenzie or Foster. Of the three, I'd give the best chance of sticking around next year to McKenzie as he provides a certain trick play ability. But as someone else mentioned, barring a huge improvement in the off season, if Duke is around next season, the team didn't likely do enough to improve.
  17. His injuries worry me. I'd rather see them sign another Brown like WR and draft one in the 2nd or 3rd round as WR most often take a year or more to figure things out. Plus I'd maybe go after Derick Henry or someone similar. And some more line help.
  18. In 2 of the biggest drives of hte season with 2 minutes left today and the last drive agaisnt NE, no one was blocked. Blaming a 2nd year QB to panic in that situation is alot to ask. Personally I'd blame the #2 ranked defense for allowing the Texans to cross the goal line 4 times in around the last 20 minutes. The lateral certainly was a completely idiotic play, but other than that, really not sure about the hero ball. You want to blame the long pass to DeMarco, what were his other options?
  19. That was the other thing was it six sacks, but maybe one in the last 20 minutes?
  20. We need a WR, maybe sign an experienced mid level WR plus draft one with 2nd or 3rd round pick, another bruising type RB, Derrick Henry would look pretty good, plus more help on the O line. On defense more pass rushing, I'd use the 1st round pick there as harder to find good FA pass rushers than WR IMO. And a punter, and maybe a field goal kicker
  21. To me the game was lost on having a 16-0 lead with about 20 minutes left and allowing Houston the cross the goal line 4 times. Regardless of what the closk showked, giving up 18 yards on a 3rd and 18 is also what lost the game. Considering the overall limited talent on offense , not blaming them.
  22. True, plus then ref watches the clock, then looks at the ball so there's a delay. You see that all the ime in every game, if it's within a second or go they let it go as they know it's not an exact science
  23. Got a QB controversy now. John Brown two passes, two TD's this year!
  24. Didn't think about it, but leaving in about 20 minutes for an early dinner at Texas Roadhouse.
  25. Was trying to recall when we hired McD 3 years ago, who were the other people they interviewed? And who else did people here want interviewed and hired for HC of those they interviewed? I do recall McD was far from the top choice around here.
