  1. Maybe he's taking Dan Morgans place!. LOL They both did play middle LB for the Panthers and were there in Carolina in the McD/Beane era. Stranger things have happened!
  2. Think I recall hearing this coming year was the last year of the contract they had with SJF. Seems the trend these days is to have camp at "home" where as 20 years ago was different and having a facility like SJF made the Bills unique in a good way! Can recall the first years seeing TD and RW whizzing around together on a golf cart. Oh...... and Williams blasting his fog horn alarm!
  3. Exactly, that's why I didn't count Jones as a RB. Has Breida played any ST??
  4. I think Wade has a shot of making the roster over Jones, but low likelihood of it happening. Think Breida and Moss are "locks". Breida strictly because he brings speed. There's a small chance Singletary could get cut if someone clearly out plays him, but not very likely either. So I think the most likely thing we'll see is Moss Singletary, Breida on the roster and Jones or possibly someone else replacing him. But then the next question would bif they'd keep all 4 active on game day, prior years they didn't.
  5. Technically you are correct, but exactly how many carries did Jones have last year? I'm not counting him as a RB, he's active for ST. Can recall him having one catch for a TD I believe?? Was that also in the Miami game when subs were playing more? I could have stated whether they wish to keep 4 active, but didn't think it made a difference since Jones never runs the ball anyway.
  6. You say Williams is working hard. Can you give some specifics to show how he's working harder than either Singletary, Moss, or Breida? Or even Wade? I'm sure they are all working just as hard, as you said you are following Williams. Everyone loves Williams and saying wow wait till next year. But was all based on what he did in 2nd half against Miami in season finale when Fish were getting blown out, knew they were done for year, out of playoffs and basically just waiting to get the bus warmed up. Maybe he really is the answer, but just as likely he's not at this point. And the tie goes to the draft pick! Plus is Williams all that different of a RB than Moss? Really would be surprised to see a backfield combo of he and Moss IMO. To me the biggest question at RB is will the Bills this year decide to keep 3 RB's on the active game day roster? They haven't done that the past couple of years, but to do that requires shorting another roster position someplace. Maybe one of the new draftee's or someone can play a duel role of position and ST so someone like a T Jones is dropped and if Jones were dropped a more likely case would be for Wade to replace him. But even then I think the most likely RB combo we'd see would be Singletary, Moss, and Breida.
  7. Also west coast teams tend to also end up with more 4:25 games just because that's a normal 1:00 start for them. Kind of funny last year I expected the Bills to have more 4:25 starts with all the west coast games, but the San Fran ended up being a Monday night, and Arizona game ended up a week where Fox had doubleheader game. Bills/Raiders game was the secondary game, but ended up getting bumped to main game due to Covid cancellation of other game. This year no scheduled late starts due to time zone.
  8. I don't believe the Thursday night games are considered prime time though. Infact I believe they try to have every play one Thursday night game.
  9. If their salaries are a liability for Buffalo and a less experienced guy is able to take their place with no drop off in talent means they're easy to replace so why wouldn't their salaries also be a liability for every other team? I doubt they dump Dawkins regardless of salary. Williams yes, but he'll be cut or if could find someone to take him it will be maybe for a 5th or 6th round pick, but most likely cut. Dawkins could maybe get a 2nd, but again ,he's not going anywhere for awhile. Player who are traded are either still on cheap contracts or superstar level. It's amazing how everyone wants to trade their garbage, but expects other teams to pay top $$ for it.
  10. OK, but then still a B for Vallego?? Did he contribute much more than I recall?? I barely remember the name.
  11. I think what is going to happen with a couple of these rookies, Brown or Doyle, Anderson, maybe even Rousseau will get "hurt" around the end of August and end up on IR so more vet backups make final roster like Lamp, Hart, Obada, etc. Beane may even decide to hire Troy Vincent to the staff to help out in this regard!
  12. Sure all true, but I'd argue that teams who drafted QB's in 2015 thru 2017 are in worse shape in that the second QB contracts have already kicked in and got hit with the cap reduction (not fully for 2017 draftees) LA with Goff, Eagles with Wentz. Coincidentally or not, many of those teams haven't done that well so not in the Super Bowl window to start with, instead rebuilding.
  13. So you're giving T Vallego whom I barely remember a 3 and T White a 4. No idea what the highest score you gave was, but overall the numbers you gave doesn't seem to reflect their contributions and level of their play.
  14. Interesting in that Lombardo and Nystrom graded on true curves in that roughly equal amounts of "A's" and "F's" where as many others were unbalanced towards the top.
  15. Guess I needed to make my initial post better with sarcasm designation!! Took a big chance though after drafting Hamlin that Wildgoose would have been selected by another team before the Billsd got the chance to pick again!
  16. Big difference, Lee Smith only had a salary coming of about $2 mil from what I recall, Hughes is due $9.5 mil with $3.1 dead and Addison is due $8.2 mil with $4.8 dead. So doubt you're trading them, likely the only ones you cna trade are the ones on initial contracts. Based on talent, agree, but Addison has a fully guaranteed contract so can't see him getting cut. Efe and Phillips are the two guys who might get something back in return, maybe a 5th rounder as if the Bills announce they are being shopped, every other team also knows they may be cut. Efe is also the guy who could be the best of all of them too long term. Agree but good chance the guys you're getting rid of like a Johnson, Phillips, Zimmer, or Efe may be better than the guys replacing them in their rookie year.
  17. Other than pride, you wonder at what point in draft is it better to not get drafted and be able to choose the team where you might fit the best. Like the Bills drafting a guard in round 7, would he have been better being un-drafted and choose a team with not much depth at guard. I'm guessing mid 6th round and lower, better chance of making team as UDFA.
  18. So what's your solution for the log jam on the D line?? Very likely Hughes, Star, an Addison have no trade value due to big contracts and Addison and Star have no cap savings if cut. Not sure about Hughes, likely not a huge savings. So the only ones left are players still on their 1st contracts and not Oliver who starts are Phillips, Zimmer, Johnson, and Epinesa or the FA they just signed. Agree it would be rather unusual to trade a 2nd round pick after one season but something needs to give. Teams also will know the Bills have to cut some of these guys so will try and wait them out and not agree to trade for them.
  19. Can't see Addison getting traded with his contract. I think the more likely option would be to trade someone like a Phillips, Zimmer, Johnson, Bates, etc than someone drafted this year. You look at when the team traded Teller, he had one year of playing time and film to go off of. Can't imagine a team trading for a guy we just selected and saw him play all of half of 2 pre-season games. Considering the depth at DE, would they consider trading Epinesa??
  20. The only risk then is does Edmunds have hurt feeling by not getting 5th year option so reluctant to sigh with Bills forcing them to use franchise tag.
  21. Took a big chance though after drafting Hamlin that Wildgoose would have been selected by another team before the Billsd got the chance to pick again!
  22. Either that or stash some on PS. 5th round picks are borderline risks of being grabbed by another team when initially cut. 6th and 7ths worth taking the risk. May also see a number of these rookies develop injuries late August requiring them to be on season ending IR.
  23. Highly doubt that happens this year considering everything ford has gone through. He may be the most jerked around player ever on the Bills roster. As a rookie he started practicing at tackle, until Mongo got hurt, then moved him to guard. Once Mongo came back, moved him back to tackle. Year two no mention (at least publicly) as to where Ford would play prior to training camp which BTW was abbreviated. Then in the middle of abbreviated camp and with no pre-season, moved him to guard, first was it the left side, then switched to right side once Spain was benched, then got hurt twice was it and missed half the year. Ford could become a bust and is gone after the 2021 season, but barring a huge setback, can't see it happening this coming year. Anderson is a 7th round pick so can easily stash him on PS this year with low risk of losing him. Can't see them giving up on 2nd round pick after only two jerked around seasons.
