  1. I'd like to see Karlos WIlliams moved back to the defensive side of the ball. Groom him as an OLB - he has the size/athleticism combination to be a beastly one.
  2. It's funny, Marshawn didn't have a problem giving interviews early in his Buffalo career. He would always speak and answer questions. Some people (mostly those outside of Buffalo) trace his malcontent behavior back to Cal, but it simply isn't true. Marshawn's hatred towards the media was born in Buffalo, when those reporters were grilling him about off the field issues; he got tired of dealing with those questions. I remember when the switched flipped and his attitude was "I don't want to be here." He carried that attitude and hatred with him to Seattle. Fred Jackson says he laughs every time he sees Marshawn do an interview nowadays. It has now become a part of him, an alternate personality so to speak. And he enjoys it.
  3. What I would like to see going forward: whenever a Buffalo QB is in the midst of a sack, just have him rooster his arm back and hit the defensive player on the crown of the helmet with the football. Incomplete pass every time.
  4. I wonder why Urbik wasn't moved to RG, his old position, and Erik Pears moved to the left. Traditionally, the right side of the line is run blocking (power) while the left is pass blocking (blindside protectors). Pears has the feet/build of a tackle. He should be moved to the LG position, playing between Glenn and Wood. Glenn - Pears - Wood - Urbik - Henderson
  5. We need some Buffalo Bills love in the movies. I'll tell you guys this: there's a script that made this year's Blacklist called, "Make A Wish" by Zach Frankel. It's about a cancerous boy's dying wish to get laid. Oh, and this 14 year old is the most annoying J-E-T-S fan ever. There's so much Buffalo bashing it's not funny. The Patriots (and Tom Brady/Belichek) also take more than a few licks, but the story made it quite clear that playing in Buffalo is the worse thing that can happen to one's playing career. Obviously this story was written by a Jets fan. Strangely, not a single mention of the Dolphins anywhere in the script. Anyway, we must root AGAINST this screenplay seeing the light of day! It wasn't that impressive anyway.
  6. Moatsie! Good luck in the arm Pitt.
  7. I was just saying in the shout box how this team doesn't have another starting quality 4-3 DE on the roster. If the Bills trot out Stevie and Woods in a 2 WR package, I'm not worrying. Our DEs are a weaker group than WR and could stand to upgrade there before any other position group.
  8. I typically don't have trouble making the distinction between a knowledgeable fan and a "fanboy." Agreement with one's position does not equate to "knowledgeable" fan. There are plenty of educated and knowledgeable fans who are part of this community, who often have disagreements. You can dismiss the opinion of the Ram fans, that's your prerogative, but when every comment comes back negative about a said player's departure, I have to invest a level of belief in what they're saying (Aaron Maybin). An opinion is just that - an opinion; but when all of those opinions come in on one side of the coin, I don't see how you (or anyone else) can dismiss those thoughts, or belittle the sources. Probably not much, as he barely saw the field. I'm sure they were calling him a bust. The distinction here is that Chris Williams has been a regular starter, hence, his play can be evaluated fully. Aaron Maybin didn't see the field much and was called a bust as well, but when he did step on the field, unlike Jerry Hughes, he was so out of his element, a RB put him flat on his back.
  9. I'd argue a fan forum is a more reliable source of information than an ESPN reporter; these are the people who watch 16 games per year. The ones who have a true pulse of the team and its players. Educated (and knowledgeable) fans are a resource and should be treated as such.
  10. Brilliant sarcasm! The Rams fan forum isn't for Whaley and Co. (duh). It's for us to get a sense of the player we have coming in. How he was perceived by that other team's fan base. I'm not pouring through video, watching Williams's play against the rest of the league. What I posted is no different than a Saints fan coming here and asking about Jairus Byrd.
  11. Usually with stuff like this -- where familiarity with a player is at a minimum -- it's good to go check out the messageboard(s) respective to that player's team. What they're saying (note, I tried to include both positive and negative comments): Source: http://www.ramsondemand.com/threads/losing-williams-offers-chance-to-upgrade-wagoner.23900/ Source: http://www.ramsondemand.com/threads/bills-signed-g-chris-williams.23892/ *The exclusion of positive comments was not intentional, or by design. There just weren't any.
  12. In fairness to Stevie and his 70 yds/gm, he actually gets open far more often than his stats would indicate, but the ball doesn't always get there. If Stevie had a top tier QB throwing the football, you'd see much more than 70 yds/gm against Revis...
  13. Still love this quote from Sexy Rexy: "Everybody thought (Williams) was getting doubled. No, he was getting doubled by (Howard’s) left arm and right arm." Source: http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/jets/jets-insider-howard-super-mario-article-1.1518913#ixzz2viDgVNUN
  14. Sounds an awful lot like Mario Williams. For better or for worse.
  15. I think he's in the same boat as Eric Wood. If an offense doesn't perform well, I don't think any members from that unit will get Probowl consideration. Once the team starts winning, and the offense is at least in the top half, then you'll start to hear buzz around certain players.
  16. There's no guarantee Pettine would've led the Bills to a better than 6-10 record, HOWEVER I'm quite sure he would've hired an experienced offensive coordinator, as well as a QB coach. Would this combination have led the Bills to a better offense and subsequently, a better record? There's absolutely no way of knowing...
  17. Not sure if I can speak for Reed83, but what I got from his posts, I think he was saying the coaches are responsible for putting these players in a position to excel. Sure, Aaron Williams played DB for the Bills last season, but Pettine was the one who had him at SS from day 1. Aaron Williams is not necessarily a new player, he's a holdover who was put in a better position to excel. Leodis was in the doghouse last season, a starter this season. Same player, same position, better scheme. It's true, players play the game, coaches coach, but if a coordinator doesn't know how to maximize the strengths, or skillsets of his men, then it doesn't matter who's out there on the field.
  18. Thanks, Ferg. I've told all who would listen that I want to become to the Bills what Drew Carey is to the Browns. Or what Jack Nicholson is to the Lakers. Can't do it alone though. And though it's only been a few hours since I've launched the campaign, staring at that $0 doesn't give me the warm and fuzzies...
  19. Hello all, I just launched a Kickstarter campaign for my short film. Wanted to reach out and encourage you guys to pledge! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/jbrandon/after-death-the-festival-run You can watch a trailer of the film on the site. If any of you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask, either through this post, or through a PM. There's someone here who can tell you if the film is worth pledging, but I won't reveal his identity, unless he chooses to come forward and speak under this topic Thanks everyone! -J
  20. Oooh, I love this idea and think it needs to be voted on by the player committee. If Goodell is going to render kickoffs ineffective, then the drive start should absolutely be moved up. Even starting on the 25 is better than the 20. But starting on the 30...? I think that's perfect and would allow for more kickoff strategy going forward.
  21. If Da'Rick Rogers goes on to become all world, I'll never forgive the cut. Not because he excelled with another team after being cut from Buffalo, but because he wasn't afforded much of an opportunity to fail. He was turning in big plays during training camp, but couldn't sniff the field in the preseason. Why? Marrone decided he wasn't even worth the roster spot to make it to final cutdowns. I'm wishing Da'Rick well, but not "too well" if you know what I mean.
  22. As many sacks as Thad took, I will give him credit for this: he picked up far more third and longs than EJ ever did. Mostly because he holds the ball and allowed for routes to develop down the field. EJ often seemed content to throw 3-4 yards on 3rd and 7+ rather quickly. This was even covered in the All 22 criticism of his play, diagnosing how many big plays and first downs EJ sacrificed in favor of getting the ball out quickly. He did mention that he learned a lot by watching Thad and his success, so I'm expecting/hoping he allows downfield routes to develop going forward.
  23. TTU used to be my stomping grounds. From the Red Raider games I've seen this year, Amaro sporadically tends to have the case of the dropsies. He'll make a tough catch and then drop an easy one. Can't remember the game (KSU?), but I remember him dropping THREE straight passes on ONE drive! If the inconsistency continues on the NFL level, don't be surprised if he never fulfills his potential.
