  1. Brownies were up 22-10 at halftime but got outscored 23-7 the second half. Gotta keep a foot on the Chiefs neck, they’re not gonna go away quietly.
  2. Bills do employ a heavy rotation, none of the lineman are on the field for more than 57% of the snaps, BUT because we’ve held decent leads, the opportunity to rush the passer has been greater, yet that hasn’t turned into an increase in sack production by the DL. Rousseau and Star lead the way with 2 sacks each and only Rousseau is in the top 50 in terms of pressure percentage.
  3. Chandler seems to be having a bad day maybe. The thread I linked to The Athletic article about the top pass rushers was even questioned. Maybe he wants an atmosphere that’s more like a library, where everyone is quiet and no one posts 😂
  4. Yeah, that’s included in the pressure percentage.
  5. Of the players charted, there was a baseline of 50 or more pass rush snaps. I don’t have the breakdown for how often our ends or tackles have rushed, or played the run, versus dropping back in coverage, but here are the total snap counts for each defender most often tasked with rushing the passer. I’d be willing to bet many of them cross that 50 snap baseline as well, so the thread is relevant in my eyes. Epenesa: 93 Oliver: 130 Rousseau: 127 Hughes: 123 Zimmer: 110 Addison: 101 Star: 80 Butler: 85
  6. It’s so bizarre. OTs are getting away with murder and I can’t recall the last holding penalty Hughes generated. Can’t all be due to the referee grudge, can it? I can’t see collusion in a billion dollar industry to not call holding if Hughes is the player.
  7. The Bills couldn’t get pressure on Mahomes with 4 or 5 rushers when he had a banged up OL, so with an offensive line that is much improved this season, I’m not sure how any of those rushers are going to get home. That’s why I say to use one of the DEs to jam Kelce whenever he’s lined up tight to the formation. Likely wouldn’t get there anyway. But yes, overall the ROI is not there.
  8. One Buffalo Bill made the list: NFL Pressure Index As a team, the Bills rank 6th in pressure rate (8.3%), but with the amount of investment in the defensive line over the last couple years, should it be a concern that only Rousseau (12.5%; 30) is among the top 50 players? It is interesting that Cam Heyward (12 pressures; single game high) and Deron Payne (10 pressures) wouldn’t be in the top 50 either if not for their monster performances against the Bills. Also, the 200KB restriction for images is so tiny! Not sure I’ve ever seen below 600KB, so apologies if the table comes in a little fuzzy.
  9. Best game since perhaps his rookie year, his best season. I’d love for Edmunds to turn into a game wrecker, I don’t think any true Bills fan roots against his success, but I’m not going to crown him “all pro” because he had a good game against the Texans. I hope to see more impactful plays from him going forward, especially in big games. Side note, whoever’s responsible for covering Kelce next week, Edmunds, Tre Day or whoever, can Frazier PLEASE have a DE jam him off the line of scrimmage every time he’s in tight formation?! Disrupt Mahomes timing, the DE tasked with jamming Kelce likely wouldn’t sack Mahomes anyway.
  10. What’s the parking situation for the Texans game? Hanmer’s Lot? I’m a newb flying in for only my second game ever!
  11. You obviously put a lot of time into this and for that it’s appreciated. It is a subjective grading system, so some of your +1 plays and other assessments could definitely be argued - “TE drops into coverage, Heinicke throws beyond the LOS +1” “TE called for holding, but I didnt see it 0.” There are others like this, but I chose two as an example. The fact remains, Edmund’s game changing, impact plays are few and far between. His mistakes are magnified because he routinely fails to make splash plays and his missteps stand out like a flashlight in a dark room. He’s not a “terrible” player, but he’s not a difference-maker either, I’d move on after the season for any dollar amount over $10M/yr. Ideally I’d love to see what he would fetch in a trade.
  12. Brady is the NFL’s equivalent to Michael Jordan. No one in their right mind would debate who was greater for the Bulls success, Phil Jackson or Michael Jordan and it’s the same situation here. The coach calls the plays, incorporates the schemes, but it’s on the players to execute. A coach’s greatness is directly influenced by who they have on the field/court. Belichick is a great coach, but take away his Brady years and he’s nowhere near the conversation for “greatest head coach of all time.” He needed arguably the greatest QB of all time to birth that legacy.
  13. If you’re Waddle, you absolutely need to bat that ball down, or if you didn’t see the DB bearing down until you caught it, drop it on contact for an incomplete pass.
  14. The reasoning is a bit different than NBA goaltending in my opinion. The vast majority of kicks clear the 10 foot high goalpost easily, so in the rare occasion that a ball is low enough to contest, it should be allowed. NBA players shoot into a 10 foot hoop, NFL kickers kick into a structure that stretches up to the heavens.
  15. I was wondering if that was the case, it should be allowed if kicks are going to be that low.
  16. On the 66 yard game winning FG. Why didn’t the Lions put their tallest, highest vertical guy in the center of the uprights, to try to knock down the ball should it be that close? Don’t think there’s anything against “goal tending” in the NFL, the kicks are usually so high it’s not realistic to swat them down.
  17. Just had a dream the Bills decided to try Vernon Butler at guard and to everyone’s surprise he excelled. How far fetched is that? 😂
  18. If he was a 3rd round pick we’d be talking about how best to upgrade the position, not the potential (monster) contract his agent may think is coming based on his questionable Pro Bowl selections.
  19. I dont necessarily need Duck Butkus or Brandon Spikes, but i do want a MLB who doesn’t look like he’s on skates whenever he comes in contact with an OL. Tremaine doesn’t play a physical brand of football, to say otherwise is foolish. He is a sideline to sideline backer, but always a step or two slow in making the big play. He’s an above average player, largely based on his measurables, nothing more.
  20. Allen had something like 55 yards at halftime against the fishies. The Allen that played against the 49ers last season would’ve ripped both those defenses apart, pressure be damned. There are plays to be made out there, he’s just not making them right now.
  21. So far, it does seem to the untrained eye that Milano has been more impactful on the field than Tre White, but that’s not to take anything away from Tre. Milano has been balling, coverage, blitzes, tackles, he’s been a wrecking ball.
  22. With his slow step approach, could you imagine having to punt from the 1 yard line, where he only gets 10 yards of separation as opposed to his usual 15? Eek.
  23. T Edmunds Star Feliciano D Knox L Wallace Oh wait, think I misread the question 😂
  24. I’d like to believe this myself, given his length and speed, but he’s not a physical player. I think if he were to blitz off the edge and a tight end got in his way, the tight end wins. I don’t say that to be snarky, I just can’t remember one play where Edmunds physically imposed his will on an opponent. Not a single one that made me say “wow, Tremaine!” His next contract with the Bills shouldn’t be worth more than Milano’s and if it is, I’d be upset if I were Milano.
  25. Wish I had a sports Almanac like Biff from Back to the Future. Bet $250 and take home $7M. Crazy.
