48 hours to go! Your pledge not only goes towards jump starting an acting/writing career, but there are also rewards for your generosity. Pledge today! I will not disappoint with this project...

Hey Fez, that is correct. That project was MUCH more ambitious, so this time around, I decided to scale down the difficulty in hopes of actually getting something made and out there. The project I tried to start then, I expanded into a feature. It's an intertwining story like Crash/Pulp Fiction, but a comedy. Since Hollywood isn't generally interested in non-linear stories, that'll be a project I'll step to the plate with once I'm in a position to do so. For now, I'm only interested in getting this short created. Much less ambitious -- only 3 locations -- so it's completely doable. My only concern, my ONLY concern, is making sure the quality compares favorably to the stuff being entered into film festivals. I have no concern about the story's validity, or those who will come together to create this story. After being read/evaluated by many eyes -- including those who used to work as Hollywood readers -- it's ready for showtime! I should also add... someone might question, "yeah, but it's a measly six hundred bucks! Can't you get that from somewhere?" to that I'd respond, "I am 'struggling artist' personified and definitely have a tale to tell about perseverance once I make it." To give you a hint... I believe Tyler Perry spent 3 months homeless, living out of his car prior to rising to fame. Well, I've got that beat with a baseball bat. I don't want that statement to come off as "proud," it's just the cards I've been dealt in this life. In many ways, I parallel the Bills!

Thanks for the interest, guys. No, definitely not directing! I have a talented guy lined up who I worked with in a 24 hr play festival. Young dude, but instincts are on point. Believed he trained at LAMDA and compared the script to Sidney Lumet's hard boiled works. I am just the writer, but will be playing a role in the film. We have the creative talent lined up, but need to find a DP who has his own sound mixer. Film quality will be paramount for acceptance in the film festivals. I can vouch for my acting skills, the acting of the other two individuals, as well as the director. When this gets made, it has great potential to turn heads! Please consider backing. It's about time we have another Bills fan in the limelight. I will be to the Bills what Spike Lee is to the Knicks, only less annoying, haha. But in all seriousness, take a look, pledge with confidence, and if you know of any others who might be interested in helping to launch a career, send them over as well. Thank you! -Jai Brandon

Hello Bills nation! I'm trying to raise funds for my short film on Kickstarter. Click the link for details and help out if you can... http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/jbrandon/after-death-0 This is an "all or nothing" endeavor, meaning if you pledge and the goal isn't met, no money exchanges hands. With that said, let's think positive, and pledge with the assumption we're going to make it! Trying to accomplish a dream without money to spare is always a little difficult Every little bit helps. Even if you can only contribute $5. Thank you all for taking a look! If I reach the goal, hopefully this will be the start of big things to come. Now back to your regularly scheduled FA period... -JB

on Dan Patrick this morning A. Smith talk, G. Smith talk
Brand J replied to 26TrapDraw's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I do get that J.D. Booty, Mark Sanchez, Rob Johnson, or any other failed USC QB, doesn't mean that Matt Barkley will fail as well. They're all different people. However, some of these scouts do lump the failures of the past with the present, fair or not. -

I think ARZ put out a Barkley smokescreen to protect against Buffalo swapping picks with Cleveland to select Geno. No way do I think they go with another USC QB after missing on Leinart. Then again, these are the ARZ Cardinals we're talking about... -

Forget restructuring, he needs to take a PAY CUT. What good is it to push that money to years he won't even see anyway? Restructure AND take a pay cut. His salary should be in the $3M - $5M range. -
Potential film on Bills comedy or tragedy?
Brand J replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I concur. I have NO IDEA how it finished #1 on this year's Blacklist. Actually, I do have sort of an idea - It'll appeal to people who know nothing about football. When draft picks start telling GMs over the phone, "you can't pick me #7! I gotta go #1! I got nephews to feed!" then this screenplay will be realistic. And no, I'm not joking - that was an actual conversation in the script. Buffalo also traded away 4 first round draft picks to move up from #7 to #1. Realistic? Maybe that's why they chose Buffalo. -
Stay with me guys, but how about this... The new logo should've been a tarp covering the seats! Original, right?

How would Fitzpatrick play outside of Buffalo?
Brand J replied to ny33's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
His "bad ranking" is from the same guy who said prior to last year's draft, "Cordy Glenn is a Guard at the next level, not a Tackle." It's clear as day Mel Kiper was wrong, as Glenn has shown the athleticism, power, and nasty that a starting caliber NFL LT needs. The Bills are indeed putrid picking up 3rd and 1s. I think I remember reading somewhere we were 30th in the league! We get stuffed up the middle on obvious/heavy run formations, because unlike San Francisco, we don't have "power" in the interior. Our OL is comprised of athletes more than maulers. -

Perhaps you missed the games where Glenn was stonewalling his assignment, driving his opponent into the ground, or leading the way on sweeps/screens. Without going with an in-depth analysis, I can give you 10 LTs that he clearly outperformed: Miami - J. Martin Philadelphia - K. Dunlap Chicago - J. Webb Detroit - J. Backus Packers - M. Newhouse Jacksonville - E. Monroe Indianapolis - A. Castonzo Atlanta - S. Baker Kansas City - B. Albert Arizona - L. Brown If you were to break down tape and study other LTs in the league, you'd find Glenn sitting comfortably in the top half, with the potential to be a perennial probowler. I remember Peter King recognizing his play as early as week 2 of the NFL season! http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2012/09/17/cordy-gets-some-national-pub/ -

Brand J replied to ny33's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If this is indeed true, then I won't listen to another evaluation courtesy of Mel Kiper. Cordy Glenn was credited with no sacks and one QB hurry prior to his injury. ONE! As the year wore on, he did take a step back, but he played admirably for a rookie. In no way, shape, or form a bottom 7 LT in the league. -
The best Superbowl in my mind was NE vs NYG (part I). Considering what was at stake - a perfect record - and the miraculous plays made by NYG in the waning minutes, it doesn't get any better than that. When you factor in the disgust for the Patsie franchise and golden boy Brady, the loss almost felt like a Bills Superbowl win!

Draft Order Now highest is #4, lowest is #10
Brand J replied to djp14150's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Should pull what Indy did and start a "Curtis Painter" at QB for the finale. Our equivalent is Thigpen. IIRC, the Colts beat Houston the week before, with Dan Orlovsky at QB and the next week, started Curtis Painter to ensure they'd be in line to draft Luck #1. They obviously knew a win in the finale was counterproductive to the franchise's longevity. Gailey isn't that smart. -
Haha, I thought that's exactly who she ran like! A pint sized player, who's clearly the fastest on the field. Too bad she's a girl. If she was a boy, with those attributes and talent, she'd be on the path to stardom after a puberty charged injection of testosterone. She'll probably be a lacrosse, or track star.

Amazing. A compliment in this case: http://sports.yahoo.com/news/internet-sensation--nine-year-old-girl-shredding-defenses-to-the-tune-of-25-touchdowns.html

Surprised no one is talking about this. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-2/Gilmore-wanted-Fitzgerald-matchup/9459092e-4c56-45ad-a9ca-c772f47149a3 After a shaky opener, he's been much more sound in coverage. Gotta love the confidence from the rook!

Losman had a GREAT deep ball, but had trouble throwing WRs open with passes in the 10-25 yard range. Interesting that the current crop of WRs are getting open, wide open, but lack a QB who can get them the ball. Would Losman "flourish"? I doubt it. Not the current one anyway, but something tells me the offense would be better if a young Losman was in the system - the one who was full of confidence and thought he had a promising NFL career ahead of him.

Guys. He's nursing sore ribs. That's why he's been so terrible. If not that, then it's all David Lee's fault for tweaking his mechanics. All of this reminds me of the reason Trent Edwards had a terrible career: the Adrian Wilson hit. [/sarcasm]

Who will be the Bills QB next year
Brand J replied to THE GASH STATION's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Unless we get Geno Smith, draft a QB with the first three picks. I'm being somewhat serious here. -
As would I. As would Chan Gailey. But here's the problem: we don't play the Chiefs and Browns every week. What happens when a good team squats on the short stuff? When they're not worried about the length of the field, but rather the width? When we so desperately need a TD, but rather than hold onto the ball a tad bit longer, waiting for that bigger play, Fitzpatrick "settles" for the 5 yard in. The statistic above was jarring, not because Fitzpatrick has been terribly ineffective, but because the offense could be so much more effective. Anyone arguing against that statistic and available opportunities, doesn't truly understand what it takes to have a successful football team. We beat the Patriots last year because Fitzpatrick DID look down the field. He took advantage of available opportunities. He has an even better line this year, but so far, the numbers prove he has no interest in what transpires 20 yards down the field. In order for the offense to take the next step and beat those better defenses, he has to start looking down the field.
