  1. It sure looked like a coaching failure watching it in realtime. I agree with @GunnerBill that a 3rd linebacker was not the solution (given who that LB is) but a 5th DL may have been, and/or run blitzing (to try to prevent Henry from gaining steam and getting to the second level). But being passive - on both offense and defense - and waiting to get hit in the mouth (which they then were, repeatedly) by a physical team needing a win playing at home on primetime - was an incredibly stupid strategy. It does bug me that McD seems to get outcoached several times per season (and the playoffs) and that often that takes the form of being passive/reactive trying to "find their feet" before adjusting. For goodness sake just come out aggressive in big games Sean. Belichek and Reid seem to have a much lower rate of this kind of thing happening.
  2. I miss the days when not everyone had the internet.
  3. He’s been tentative. He’ll get better.
  4. People believe all kinds of crazy sh- these days. Folks are struggling with the mentals.
  5. Agree with this. And maybe having your weaknesses exposed like that in epic fashion, early in the season, is a blessing.
  6. The entire play struck me as a coach trying to pad his resume and accomplishing the exact opposite - showing the world he lacks the situational awareness to be a head coach (right now). I suspect McDermott's post-game discussion with Brady was something along the lines of, "Remember Ken Dorsey? Let me tell you a story about why you're sitting here and he isn't." Honestly was shocking to me - Brady reviving Dorsey's "f- around and find out" offense last night was NOT on my bingo card.
  7. The starting safeties should be Bishop and Edwards, not Rapp and Hamlin. Douglas has fallen off a bit this year. It may be time to work Elam into the rotation. Edwards had his worst game as a Bill - his first half was brutal. The game plans on both sides of the ball were poor. Should’ve crowded the box on defense. On offense, the short horizontal passes were never going to work. And the trick play struck me as a coach trying to pad his resume for a head coaching gig - and ending up showing the world that he does not yet have the situational awareness to be a head coach.
  8. Getting whupped up front. Not good.
  9. 135 pages and we still haven’t had a game where the Bills NEEDED their passing offense to win. That’s great complimentary football but it means we don’t know yet.
  10. But that is not the right question in the salary cap era. The question is does Milano's superior talent justify the price difference between the two? And that's where Dorian is closing the gap. Dorian on a rookie contract vs. Milano's veteran cap hit is becoming a harder decision.
  11. I mean isn’t that basically what (is rumored to have) happened?
  12. I'll take "States of Matter" for $500, Alex!
  13. I keep seeing this but - on the Kincaid touchdown it sure looked like he surrendered a pressure (against Walker), then Walker tried to bait the ref into throwing a flag for holding.
  14. Odd that Coleman wasn’t even on the field in the red zone.
  15. Underworld was underedited. But a great book. Also happens to contain the incredible short story The Angel Esmeralda IIRC.
  16. Amazing - the Jauron defense and the Gailey offense have finally taken over the league!!
  17. They are contingency planning which they need to be doing - but it almost certainly means that Bass is still looking shaky in practice.
  18. The Bills also have (according to a stat I saw somewhere here the other day) the second-best average drive start over the first two games, due in part to Tua gifting them some easy ones. Let's let the sample size grow a bit more.
