Has zero to do with his receivers tonight. He’s getting pressure in his face on every play. -

Brandon Beane Consults with Bill Parcells?
Coach Tuesday replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah no. Certainly in the second round he drafts for need. Arguably in other rounds as well, but he's willing to move around the board if he can so that his perceived need more closely aligns with value. -

Beane doesn't draft for need? -

Don’t sleep on the Eagles - this year’s Bengals.

Vrabel’s teams are really good in close games. This should not be a close game.

The greatest team ever assembled?

Yes but how many sharks are killed by coconuts every year? That’s what they DON’T want us to talk about. -
Jordan Phillips is the best DT on this team.

This has become a crusade. And possibly the dumbest one ever. -
Pretty sure it was Benford who missed that tackle on Kupp’s long gain. There have been plenty of clunker games under McD but I’m struggling to remember a single game with him as the coach where our secondary got roasted - it never happens.

They’re still hiding him?

He’s basically been benched. They seem to think Flacco can run the offense better. Love it.

This is my expectation. Happy to be wrong about it. I know there are fans convincing themselves that the Bills "hid" Cook in the preseason which I think is borderline hilarious. My expectation is that he doesn't dress for the first month or so and certainly not tomorrow night, I can't fathom them trotting out Cook in pass-blocking situations with 99 on the other side of the field...

Again, the issue is how you measure a successful running game. A 100 yard rusher tells you almost nothing - how many carries did it take? What about teams with over 100 yards rushing in a game using multiple runners? What percentage of the runs resulted in a first down or were otherwise better than average against that opponent in that down and distance? You need to measure the efficacy and efficiency of the running game - pointing to a single 100 yard rusher as correlating with winning percentages is a nearly useless stat.

That is precisely the issue. You use a 3rd on a RB like Motor and then two more Day 2 picks on the same position - now what? Motor is a good player but you can’t justify paying him (unless he takes a significant hometown discount) with other, more important positions to re-sign and two other young guys waiting in the wings at RB. Plus he’s not featured in the offense (nor should he be) and he’s a part-time player. So why use a 3rd just for four years of service at a non-premium position? Take an EDGE, tackle, WR, CB there and if you hit, you’ve got a cost-controlled every-down premium asset whom you won’t hesitate to re-sign to a second contract.
