Honestly what do you do moving forward?
BillsFanForever19 replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree with pretty much all of this. Except OG becomes a bigger priority if we lose Ryan Bates. And DL is not something I'm remotely concerned about after all of the moves we made in FA. Maybe some late round depth, but I look at both DE and DT as pretty much set. People are crazy talking about replacing Spencer Brown. For what was supposed to be a pretty green Rookie, he performed WAY ahead of schedule. It wasn't always perfect. But he was solid way more often than not. -
Bills trade 7th rnd pick for backup Case Keenum

No way, really?! 🙄 I was simply commenting on other spots we need to fill beyond what he listed. -
Bills trade 7th rnd pick for backup Case Keenum
BillsFanForever19 replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
Also need a RB after the McKissic fiasco and turning the page on Breida. And we'll need a Starting Guard if Ryan Bates is signed to a deal we can't or won't match. -
Bills trade 7th rnd pick for backup Case Keenum
BillsFanForever19 replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's altogether possible. Before Fromm was signed away by the Giants, we had 4 QB's in the building last season. Wouldn't shock me if there was a UDFA or a late round pick also on the Practice Squad. -
Bills trade 7th rnd pick for backup Case Keenum
BillsFanForever19 replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
He's only under contract for this season. I'd imagine that contract will end up getting reworked with an extension so we have that Backup role locked down for a while. -
It's more of an overall post starting with your quoted thread. Wasn't implying you're the one asking for other big moves. True, a 6th is about as much as you're going to get absorbing a 13.5 cap hit this season that continually goes up over the next 3 years ending at 17.5. No way we could have taken that on right now.

Matt Barkley Back? (Yep! deal not yet known)
BillsFanForever19 replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Dude... we're talking about the Practice Squad QB. His job is to be another arm in Training Camp, Pre-Season, practice throughout the season, and be another set of eyes in the QB room You're going on this rampage about a guy who is NEVER going to see the field during the regular season. We're surely paying him as little money as humanly possible and what are you expecting for that role? Were you a massive Davis Webb fan who felt he offered that much more? He had this very role last season for other teams. And there's no guarantee he's even going to be the only QB on the PS as we spent most of last season with Davis Webb and Jake Fromm there. Might still be another late round pick or UDFA. Man, if this is that important to you, I'd hate to see your opinions on who the team chooses to be their 9th Offensive Lineman or 6th Linebacker on the 53. -
As stated by another poster, I also forgot DaQuan Jones hasn't been taken into account yet. So to review with Keenum added in, we're currently (according to Spotrac) 2.5 Million under the cap before the contracts of DaQuan Jones, Jordan Phillips, Shaq Lawson, Marquel Lee, and Matt Barkley are accounted for. This puts us over the cap, or "right up on it", as Beane put it. So we're going to have to free up some cap just for Draft Picks. The result is the same. People acting like Kylo Ren in Rise of Skywalker screaming "more, MORE, MOOORRREEE!" and asking for big names or even mid-tier FA's still available should probably hamper expectations. As Beane stated yesterday, it's all in on the Draft to fill remaining holes after the QB moves and small signings from here on out for dudes looking for opportunity over money. And those small signings are most likely coming after the Draft.

Trading Edmunds makes no sense at this point
BillsFanForever19 replied to bubba2018's topic in The Stadium Wall
I should have specified that I meant moving on from him, not trading him. Although, there is a possibility where he has a great season, we Franchise Tag him, can't come to an agreement on a deal and end up trading him that way. And on top of the other reasons I mentioned, I believe Tim Settle was brought in in large part because of his rapport with Tremaine. I think a large part of Tremaine's (overblown) struggles has been the lack of a consistent solid DT opposite Oliver. I don't think it's a coincidence they decided to bring in the guy in front of him when he was a star in College. Wouldn't make much sense for Beane to decide to do that if moving Edmunds were in his plans. -
Matt Barkley Back? (Yep! deal not yet known)
BillsFanForever19 replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think there's something to be said about improving locker room morale following how last season ended by bringing back guys that were universally adored like Matt Barkley, Jordan Phillips, and Shaq Lawson. Barkley was really close with Josh and I know he missed him. He's not someone we'll carry on our 53. He'll just be the third arm during practice and another set of eyes in the QB room while sitting on the Practice Squad. Davis Webb was that guy the past couple years. I don't see any issue with Matt Barkley being that guy going forward. -
We're sitting at 8.9 before adding in the numbers of Case Keenum, Jordan Phillips, Shaq Lawson, Marquel Lee, and Matt Barkley. And we need 8 for Draft Picks. So we're gonna have to do some cap maneuvering just to get the Draft Picks in, paid, and under the cap. Beane essentially said at his presser that we're pretty much done after the QB moves come in and that if he adds, it'll have to be guys looking for opportunity over money to improve their stock in next year's FA. More likely than not, any of those moves will happen after the Draft and almost definitely won't be anyone that will be all that exciting.

They aren't cutting Matakevitch either. He's maybe our best Special Teamer. And in losing Taiwan Jones on that side and A.J. Klein on the LB side, we're a little thin at both the roles he provides. Cody Ford isn't going to be released with Kromer coming in. They made a large investment in him and they'll hope that Kromer can bring more out of him. And especially not when we're thin at O-Line depth already and might be losing Ryan Bates too.

BillsFanForever19 replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
This confirms Matt Barkley will replace Davis Webb's role in the QB room. -
It's not an exact number, but per Brandon Beane as far as the cap goes "we're right up on it". He says we'll be addressing QB early next week (hopefully Barkley is replacing Webb and not Trubisky) and then it's going to be "guys who value opportunity" later on in FA after the Draft. Might be some tiny Marquel Lee like signings between now and then, but we're pretty much done.

Breaking: Von Miller to bills, 6 year , 120 million
BillsFanForever19 replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
I think you're just thinking about the difference between the $150 "Limited" Jerseys and the $120 "Game" Jerseys. I've gotten Game Jerseys from each place and they're the same. The Limited Jerseys are more expensive, of a different material, and have numbers and letters stitched on. -
Spitballing on RB target for Bills
BillsFanForever19 replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall
McKinnon, possibly. Penny, probably not. Patterson, DEFINITELY not. They were never going to allocate much more than a few million for a limited role behind Singletary at the RB position. And now after all we've spent and listening to Beane's presser, sounds like even a McKissic like contract is out. My guess is it's a Day 3 pick at this point with a guy who has some speed a receiving ability. -
Spitballing on RB target for Bills
BillsFanForever19 replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall
None of those things are happening. Brandon Beane basically said he's done in Free Agency and that he's basically going to make low cost deals for people looking for opportunity over money as they really don't have any, after the Draft. -
Spitballing on RB target for Bills
BillsFanForever19 replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall
Breece Hall is going somewhere between the bottom of the 1st and the mid 2nd Round. We have too many holes to fill on this team to take a RB where it would take to get Breece Hall. And again, with the way Singletary played down the stretch, I find it hard to believe after sticking with him through his struggles that they're going to look at someone to usurp him now when his stock is at it's highest. If a Breece Hall was something they were thinking about, they'd have never made a deal with JD McKissic. They're just going to bring in someone to support him and someone who's a better receiver when they need to take Singletary off the field. A low cost FA or a pick no higher than Round 4 - as the first 3 picks will need to be used to address the holes at CB, WR, and O-Line (especially if we lose Ryan Bates). -

BillsFanForever19 replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall
Doubt it. Gordon was available and they made a deal with McKissic. I also don't see them signing a name or anyone that takes carries away from Singletary. When Singletary was the primary ball carrier, he looked the best he ever has, closing out the season. They're looking for someone who can be a good receiving back and a good blocker on some 3rd downs and when Singletary needs a breather. Probably closer to a Darrel Williams type FA. And Beane said he's offering opportunity to increase your stock for the following season over money now as "they're right up on it (the salary cap)". So unless Gordon's okay with taking minimum pay and a small role taking a backseat to Singletary - I don't see it. -
Trading Edmunds makes no sense at this point
BillsFanForever19 replied to bubba2018's topic in The Stadium Wall
Say it with me: Tremaine Edmunds isn't going anywhere. Tremaine Edmunds was never going to be traded. If he is not extended before this season (which I still see as a large possibility) and he has a subpar season than maybe, MAYBE next season. But Beane flat out said he disagrees with you naysayers and McDermott has never wavered in his faith in him as the QB of the #1 Defense in the league. Hell, Beane said during his press conference today that he consulted Tremaine during FA on Defensive signings. It's one thing to try to wish something into existence. It's another entirely to expect unrealistic moves like these and get upset when they don't happen. -
I think it's altogether possible that after McKissic spurned them and Chandler Jones, Yannick Ngakoue, Za'Darius Smith, and Uchenna Nwosu all went to other teams, and fans started to get impatient while everyone was getting better - he put the pedal to the metal, upped their offer, and made sure he got it done. But it was already in the works and I don't believe for a second that McKissic alone was the deciding factor to pay Von.

McKissinc changes mind, returning to Washington

Geesh... -
Hearing Beane say that Von's agent reached out to them makes me feel that he was one of the reported "Big Name" Free Agents that made their interest known at the Combine.

BillsFanForever19 replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah, I mean, we lost Davis Webb too. So maybe he's our 3rd guy that we carry on the Practice Squad just to have in the locker room again. At least that's what I'm hoping.
