  1. It would be great if Josh's arm is in better shape than everyone assumed and he starts. But I'm not ready to say for 100% he's starting until we see him under center. They could very well be thinking that if something happens to Keenum, Josh could hand the ball off, make an occasional short to midfield throw, and take off on option runs - which would be a much better option than Barkley. But here's hoping!
  2. I think he's looking for both. But the question is what side does he lean towards more? His tweet showing displeasure at the money offered to him by LA and saying "I know what I'm worth" makes me feel he may be leaning more towards money. In which case, I don't know if we're as big of a suitor as we're led to believe. Bc I don't see us offering him much or anything long term.
  3. Good for him. Now we'll see if he was as misused and disrespected as many posters felt. Ultimately, regardless of what fans felt about him, the team valued him less than they did, in keeping a 7th CB in Cam Lewis over him.
  4. Jordan Poyer and Tremaine Edmunds are FA's after this season. Gabe Davis and Ed Oliver will be Free Agents after next season. If there isn't much of a market for Singletary, maybe he comes back. But with guys who take priority over him, the rise in cap costs to contracts that went out to guys like Josh, Diggs, Von, and Tre, and having Hines and Cook under contract next season - it makes way more sense to save that money and take a flyer on the 3rd back in the 5th round area of the Draft.
  5. We had a total of 3 Safeties on the roster and now Poyer's availability is in question. Another Safety was necessary before Poyer got hurt again. Marlowe isn't going anywhere this season.
  6. James Cook showed improvement on Sunday - but he's still a work in progress who spent most of the year dropping passes. Nyheim Hines is a veteran who is one of the best receiving RB's in the league right now. He provides much more stability, especially if Devin Singletary we're to go down. James Cook could become a star. But right now he's still acclimating to the game. He's been much more of a project than I or probably the team expected. McDermott implied he has just now started to practice the way he likes. In Hines we get much more of a sure thing as we push towards a Championship right now.
  7. James Cook looks like the game is starting to slow down for him a bit and is starting to get his sea legs under him - so I'm not as worried about RB anymore. But if Jordan Poyer is out for any extended period of time, we have to look at getting a Safety in here. Rodgers immediately started throwing successfully against Damar Hamlin and Jaquon Johnson. We cannot lose Micah Hyde AND Jordan Poyer and stand pat.
  8. People joke about him having no trade value. But he was a 3rd Round pick in 2020 who was considered a value there. Obviously he's not going to field much - but the idea that a highly drafted RB less than 3 years into his career with little to no wear and tear is impossible to be moved is overblown. These are the kind of "change in scenery" moves that happen every year in the NFL. Wouldn't shock me in the least if a team who liked him in the 2020 Draft threw a 5th or a 6th our way.
  9. Considering CMC cost a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th with his injury history and reliability issues - I don't think a 3rd, a 5th, and Moss gets it done for Kamara. And then there's the contract, which includes a 16 million dollar cap hot next season and not a potential out until 2024. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/new-orleans-saints/alvin-kamara-21809/
  10. Nope. I wasn't even right. It's about people not only posting ridiculous things, but fighting others from a ridiculous standpoint.
  11. Because I like others who have posted on this very thread saying the same thing were at best argued with and at worst ridiculed for pointing out common logic.
  12. I hope now all of you who were saying it was possible for Tre to be ready by the start of the season realize how wrong you were. Heck, I was taking crap for saying before the Chiefs game that McDermott wouldn't play him until this Sunday and even that wasn't right.
  13. I was 19 years old and didn't put much thought into it.
  14. Damn, a conditional 6th for Robinson would have been a move i'd have been happy to see us do.
  15. I've said this a couple times already. But the need for a RB is not to replace Devin Singletary or condemning Devin Singletary. He's a decent back. The need for trading for a RB has to do with the fact that you need more than one decent back. James Cook COULD become that guy in time. But right now he's not acclimating to the game as quickly as I expected. And Zack Moss is not a good change of pace back or the short yardage back we use him for. He puts together a decent Training Camp and Pre-Season than disappears when the real games happen. Singletary can't be on the field every down. And if God forbid he gets injured, we're absolutely nowhere at RB.
  16. I don't think the obsession is replacing Singletary. At least for me, the idea of adding CMC was never about not playing Singletary. It's about having more than just 1 RB we rely on. Singletary isn't going to be on the field every down. And while he's not a bad RB, he doesn't strike fear in anyone. And God forbid he get hurt, we're nowhere. James Cook needs more time to acclimate to the game than I was expecting. And Zack Moss is not good. Singletary plus another Singletary level RB or better would help immensely.
  17. With the cost of Jerseys, I'm shocked no one would take one for $30-65. I'd obviously not be looking for a Case Keenum jersey if I were in the shop but tell me I could get one for $30 bucks? SOLD!
  18. That's a really good offer from Beane's standpoint. McCaffrey was never going to be on this team beyond this season. Even if he agreed to rip up his deal, there's no way CMC would have agreed to a new contract that would fall in line with what we'd have been willing to pay a RB especially given his wear and tear, reliability, and the amount of key players coming up who would take priority while other contract numbers go up. Surprised to see he'd go as high as a 2nd for a one year rental. Shows he really tried.
  19. Motor is NOT going anywhere this season. I don't care if he's in the plans next season or not. McCaffrey is only coming in as an addition to Motor. Not to take his place. Beyond the fact that McCaffrey cannot be trusted to stay healthy and as such, would leave us with Moss and Cook (who could be good eventually, but is not taking to the game as quickly as expected) - Motor is a BELOVED member of the locker room. To remove him right now en route to the Playoffs would make players unhappy. We'd be looking at CMC to add to our room and replace Moss. Taking away Motor to add McCaffrey would still leave us with only 1 trusted RB (which is where we are now anyways) and one that we could lose at a moments notice.
  20. I don't know what he's looking for but he was insulted by LA's offer which implies to me that money is, if not the most important thing, definitely up there. And I can't see Beane paying much for the length of time he'd be here either.
  21. Skip Bayless brings up a point that I've thought about this from the beginning - Von Miller is just trying to create a market for his friend by threatening the league that OBJ will be added to our already stacked team and keeping his name out there. I personally hope it's real and that he will be coming here. But given his talk of the money not being good enough in KC, I find it hard to believe he'd come here for what we'd be offering.
  22. You're not giving up on a guy you spent a 2nd Round pick on and have under a cost controlled rookie contract after 6 games. That's insanity.
  23. Between the different reports earlier this week and the report released today, it's pretty clear he already picked up the phone. The problem is not what it would cost us cap wise this season. The problem is what Carolina is asking in compensation and what it would cost us beyond this season if we wanted to keep him. Given his injury history and lack of reliability, we'd only be interested in him for this season to try and get over the hump, if he can stay healthy (and that's a BIG if). If they're looking for "significant compensation" - it doesn't make sense for us and won't get done.
