Do you think Crowell will replace Posey next year when TKO comes back?
-
There is a trick that works occassionally....what you do is select Punt Block as your play. Your guys will line up to block the punt, and the computer will audible to a max protect formation. Then, you audible to a regular punt return, which i believe is right trigger, but you'll have to check. This way, the other team won't run any gunners down towards you, but you will have blockers downfield. But beware, your blockers have a tendency to not block anyone until you actually catch the ball, so even if they have a wall in front of you, often they will let the defenders walk right past them and hit you.

Terrence McGee is listed as questionable on the injury report today: http://www.buffalobills.com/team/injury.jsp I didn't even know he was hurt, does anybody have any more info on this?
-
The opening of family guy last night was classic. Thats one thing I don't think they did before this year, but so far we've had the law & order opening, and the naked gun opening.

Matt Schoebel is on there....is he any good? I'd guess that he would like to play with his brother, and Everett is unproven...why not cut the rest of the TE's and get some new blood in here?

Don't forget Viper came back to fly this souped up SR-71 into the tornadoes. Yes, this movie is incredibly cheesy...but I think its better than The Day After Tomorrow.....that movie was just freaking boring....and come on, being attacked by wolves in manhattan? At least Category 7 has hot actresses.

I think that because of players like Michael Vick, the NFL's rules for "protecting" the quarterback need to go. He is one of the best athletes in the game, and its just not fair at all that when he takes off running, the defense has to be worried about letting up if he slides....because if you let up on a player like that, he is going to burn you. Unfortunately, there are QBs in the league who do need the protection afforded by those rules, but hey, its football, its a physical game. Its not worth giving Michael Vick an extra advantage that he doesn't really need so that you can protect an old or unathletic quarterback who can't take a hit.

So I'm sitting here watching Spike TV

Nah, the Joe Schmoe Show (and Joe Shmoe 2) rocked. -
Ah, one of Buffalo's finest. Has anybody seen Buffalo '66? Its weird in a creepy sort of way.

I went Sirius because of football and hockey, however in 2 years, hockey will be exclusively on XM :-( But, I'm okay with missing a few hockey games, but I want to at least listen to every football game. Breuer Unleashed is also a great show, and the Radio Chick has a show at 10am on Sirius too...i don't think XM has as good of radio personalities.

Speaking of potatoes...has anybody here

I love poutine. You can get it at places like burger king in Canada. Just don't eat it if you plan on being hungry again later :-D -
Thanks a lot for organizing the tailgate. As much as the game sucked, we had a great time partying with you guys before (and after for those who stuck around). I thought the raiders fans weren't too bad....where we were sitting, they were all pretty into the game, stood up the whole time (which I like), and they knew their football. We made friends with them and by the second quarter we were buying each other drinks, so there weren't any problems with obnoxious people. I'll try to post some pictures next week when I get back home. --Greg

Clements is a Pro Bowl player...
agilen replied to realtruelove's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Interesting, I'm not sure if I agree yet or not. However, I watched the Jets game again yesterday, and on the Jets 1st TD (i think), Vinny threw 2 passes to the end zone. The first was defended perfectly by McGee. The second was thrown towards Clements, and he got a PI call against him, because he didn't really play the ball and had his hands all over the reciever. Now, the two passes weren't exactly the same, but that definitely was a different McGee than the one who Santana Moss completely burned for a long TD pass last year. -
Bills-Raiders Game- for those going
agilen replied to SF Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Have you been to a game there? I'm going on Sunday, and was planning on wearing Bills gear...but if you are speaking from personal experience, then I may reconsider that... I'm just planning on not being loud towards other fans...but I've never actually been to an away game before. -
I had turned 7 2 weeks before that game....and I still remember Van Miller making the call when Smerlas blocked that kick
-
Miller really won that game for us tonight. He stood on his head in the 2nd and especially the 3rd period. With all the power play chances, the Sabres didn't give him enough offensive support. But even if it was ugly, thats a great win on the road against the defending champs...the Sabres could really prove all the preseason doubters wrong this year.

So, I just booked a trip to CA, and it turns out I'll be in san fran on the 23rd. So, I'm thinking of going to the Oakland game. Is it sane to go there wearing Bills gear? Are others on here going? What section are you sitting in?

Who is your cable company? Comcast (who owns OLN) has said that they'd black out hockey for any cable company that does not put OLN on their basic cable package. Here in CT, OLN is on the "premium" sports package, which is an extra $4.95 a month. Rumor has it that there is no hockey on OLN on Cablevision because of this....I'm currently listening to the internet stream of Rick & Jim.

I'm listening right now in CT on Sirius. I just bought it today, as I'll be away this weekend and want to hear the Bills game. Got it from Radio Shack: http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?cata...%5Fid=12%2D2080 $49.99, plus a $39.99 home kit got me an extra $15 off. There is a $30 mail-in-rebate, so the total (with the home kit) is about $45 ($20 without the home kit), plus you have to pay for the service. So far, I like it However, remeber that I don't think it will be Rick and Jim for every game. I'm not yet sure if they just take the home team or what, but at least tonight its the WGR feed.

criqui and tasker doing bills/saints....
agilen replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
According to the Buffalo News (http://www.buffalonews.com/editorial/20051...?tbd1006956.asp) Don Criqui and Rich Gannon will work the Saints game for CBS, which revised its lineup after analyst Brent Jones decided to leave CBS. Steve Tasker, who originally was assigned the Bills game, was moved to the Houston-Cincinnati game with Gus Johnson (who had worked with Jones). -
CT residents- what happened with that storm today?
agilen replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Down here in Norwalk, it was a pretty nasty looking storm, but i don't think it was as bad as where you are. I saw a couple of trees down, but I didn't lose power, and don't know anyone who did. -
(OT) Does anybody else read Neal Stephenson?
agilen replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hmmm, it might be a while then, because I've still got about 800 pages left in The System of the World Guess my reading list is back to full. -

agilen replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, thats another favorite of mine...I can't wait for the next one to come out (I've been waiting for it for about 4 years now). Apparently, the 5th book is done as well...he wrote so much for the 4th book that he split it into 2. So, it won't be another 5 year gap between volumes. I just hope that there is some kind of good summary for what went on in the first 3 books, as I read them quite a long time ago, and there is no way I could re-read them all before November. Martin does tend to re-hash events a lot in his writing, so it will probably be okay. -
Won't the Bills be on CBS anyway, since they are the away team?

Yes! I'm about 100 pages into The System of the World. Its a fantastic series, if a little long-winded. I thought Quicksilver was a slower read, but had more geeky stuff in it, while The Confusion had a plot that I really got into. I liked Snow Crash, and thought Cryptonomicon was really good, although sometimes I got a little annoyed at how he spent time explaining things to the non-geek readers.
