That was the play that lost USC the game IMO. White was averaging some 6.5 yards per carry, and the USC interior O-line was completely dominating Texas. Give the ball to White and run him up the middle, there is NO other acceptable play to call in that situation. They did it on 1st down, and even though Texas knew it was coming, he still got 3 yards. Even if you don't get the first down, 2 more running plays gives Texas much less time to work with. Yes, Vince Young was great, but would he have been able to run around and make passes down the middle with less than a minute left? I doubt it. USC learned the hard way calling pass plays in that situation loses football games.

Her friends that she is sitting with are pretty smoking, but she is pretty nasty....then again, AJ Hawk is one ugly dude, so they make a good couple i guess.

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...=fleming/051221 Buffalo fans (along with Cleveland and Philly) are the only ones mentioned as a winner here. Fletcher was given honorable mention...to be honest, he is the only player on the Bills that I think deserves to be on this list. After selling out the whole season, don't we deserve a team with more heart?

I play hockey too in a men's league. -
10 is the all time record....and it was set by the Sabres in 83-84. Two other teams matched that record a few years ago. If the Sabres can win in Florida on thursday, then they'll tie their own record. Wins at Florida and at Tampa on thu and fri will break the record.

Anyone know why Reed wore 83 tonight?
agilen replied to Thailog80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I feel like that has a lot to do with the QB. Sure, Evans dropped those balls, but really it seems to me that Evans is on the same wavelength as JP, and Moulds is with Holcomb. I'm okay with that, because the future is going to be JP and Evans. -
Since the Bills have been disappointing ...

I've been watching the Sabres. While the loss last week was really crappy, I didn't feel as bad as I have in weeks and years past when we lost...it was kind of a feeling of giving up on the Bills this year, and getting excited about the Sabres. Also, there is hockey on every day, and its more exciting than it has been in quite a while. Football wise, I'd like to see the Patriots lose and Dallas lose, that is about it. -
Yeah, i tried to steal it but it didn't work

Thanks, I didn't want that 2:11 of my life anyway :-P

Sure, I know its just a silly internet fan poll, but I think its a decent gauge of how fans of other teams feel as compared to the way we do: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/sportsnation/ratings Mike Mularkey is the least-liked coach in the league (you can't vote for Martz anymore). Thats with some pretty stiff competition from the likes of Dom Capers and Norv Turner. Even Herm Edwards has a 51% approval rating with a 2-10 record. I have to be honest, I was not a fan of hiring someone without any experience, but I never really questioned Mularkey until the last two weeks. Now I'm officially off his bandwagon, and it appears that the rest of you are too.

Yeah, but he is good at saying "Jacked UP!"

sabres up 4-1 over colorado after 1st period
agilen replied to rolly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Was it just me, or was that just about the worst home-job you've ever seen in a hockey game? Until that last penalty on the avs, the sabres had only had 1 55 second power play in the entire game...and the avs had i think 6 or 7 power plays. There was a questionable penalty shot called that the avs tied the game on, and a goal called off on the sabres, saying Drury threw it into the net with his hand....but it hit the goalie before it went into the net, so i think it should have been a goal (not sure on the rule there). Also, the thing that got me really pissed was the sabres were killing a penalty with about 7 minutes left in the game, and Derek Roy skated down into the Avs corner to try and hold the puck, and he was mugged, pushed, and held by _3_ avs players while the puck sat in the corner and waited for the 4th av player to pick it up. If that is not interference, then I don't know what is.... But anyway, we pulled it out in the end, because they couldn't not call that last penalty on the avs, and our power play is sweet, so great win by Buffalo. -
We made one up while watching a Notre Dame game, because we were so sick of the Charlie Weis love-fest that accompanies every single one of their games. Its got a lot less rules than yours, but will get you equally as wasted: Every time they say "Charlie Weis", you take a drink Every time they show Weis on TV, you must begin to chug until the camera cuts to something else Every time they mention Tom Brady, you must finish your drink. Its pretty tough to make it though one half of this.

Okay, I can eat my words from yesterday a little bit...I thought Vanek put a lot more effort into it tonight, even though he didn't end up on the scoresheet. I do like that line with Roy and Max, though I'd like to see what Vanek can do with Kotalik and Connelly.
-
Haha, "boxing day". The canucks do that one too, although in recent years they have opened the malls and its become one of their biggest shopping days of the year. In the US we don't have that holiday, although this year since Christmas is on a sunday, we will have "boxing day" off.
-
Yes, he is the biggest guy on that line. Max and Roy are both better skaters than Vanek is, so he should be the one working in the corners, getting it to them in open ice, then getting himself open for a feed. Thats what power forwards do, and that is what Vanek needs to do to be successful on that line.
-
He has been getting chances, but a lot of times, if he would take one or two more steps he'd have a much better chance. Also, he isn't playing as physically as he should be...on a line with Roy and Max, he should be the one in the corner banging away for the puck. He got sat on his ass by Poapst late in the game (Poapst got a questionable penalty on the play, but Vanek really looked weak on the play). He has the size and the skill, he just needs to hustle more.
-
Roy was playing with Max and Vanek tonight. Roy and Max both had great games and looked really good together. Vanek didn't look so hot....I almost feel that if we get JP and Briere back soon, Vanek should spend a week or two in Rochester, and we can keep Pominville up. He just isn't working hard enough and needs a wakeup call. Everyone else is stepping up their game too, for the most part. Connelly had a bad game tonight, but has been playing well. Grier has been a great penalty killer, and although Hecht has been somewhat dissapointing, he played well tonight. Gaustad has been great all year, and I'm starting to like Mair a lot, as he works hard and is a surprisingly good playmaker from behind the net.

I'll be there! I haven't been to the Ralph since it was Rich Stadium, so I'm looking forward to it.

Xmas-lights: Too much time on his hands...
agilen replied to Dan Gross's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow, that was cool! I'm sure that wasn't in real time, but does anyone remember when they'd light up that building in Niagara Falls during the festival of lights to the beverly hills cop theme song? I used to love that as a kid. -
You need to play Madden '06, then you'll get it

Believe it or not, I think i actually saw one of these (or something very similar) at McFadden's on sunday. This woman was wearing it, and i remember thinking, where on earth did she find that? Did anybody else see that? I had had more than a few drinks, but I think that was the 'jersey' i saw.

http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=34873 I wouldn't really call them "trolls"...they seemed to be pretty informed fans, and didn't talk any trash.
