  1. They are meeting today and tomorrow in Toronto. I'm not sure that it will finish up this week, though people are saying they have most of the deal worked out, and are just working on details now. If that is the case, however, I don't see why they wouldn't announce that they have a deal in principle....the sooner they get this lockout over, the sooner they can start selling seasons tickets, getting new sponsors, etc. I think we'll know a lot more by Friday, and the deal may get done next week.
  2. Things are looking up a bit...rumor has it that the players are taking over, and actually listening to the league. There is also some speculation that Goodenow won't sign the deal, and he'll be leaving the NHLPA...if that happens, then its pretty clear that this lockout is 100% his fault (and the players for not getting rid of him sooner). They met today and will meet again tomorrow....this is following a big week last week, where the Thursday meeting went from 10am to almost 1am. TSN still covers what is going on, and http://hockeyrumors.blogspot.com/ is a pretty active blog with a lot of inside information. CBA can hopefully be done within the next 2-3 weeks. They've even been talking about having a pre-season tournament or other events to get the fans back into it for next season.
  3. Did the question actually say that they were on the same drive? You certainly can have an average yardage for your first six (offensive) plays, they just might not be in sequence....
  4. Sounds like you need to move to a more...uh...enlightened state. I know the smokers don't like it, but to me (a non-smoker), smoking bans are the greatest thing since sliced bread. I watch the games at a sports bar...its definitely more expensive than paying for directv, because i spend ~$40-50 per game, but it is fun watching with other people.
  5. Don't forget about the Blue Jays...if he is a city person, its worth the trip to Toronto....they have some cool museums, theatre, etc. there...and of course, a major league team.
  6. Cornelius Bennett was #97... wasn't Darryl Talley #56? Anyway, was that sandwich just in the WNY McDonalds, or was it a national thing?
  7. Don't you remember the McDonalds CB Triple? He could eat 97 of them...
  8. Is it on TV anywhere now, or do we need to wait for CBS coverage this afternoon?
  9. Lynah Rink in Ithaca, NY...especially for a Harvard at Cornell game. You'll never see a more influential crowd in _any_ sport (just don't sit down too low, or else you might catch a raw fish in the back of the head).
  10. I seem to no longer get the stylesheet for the board...the content is all there, but formatting is totally out of whack. This is on firefox.
  11. Yep, its one of my favorite pre-hockey game meals. Got to go early though, as they are pretty slow making it. Man, i wish i were gonna be there this weekend...
  12. Cornell '03 PS. Big game tonight... LETS GO RED!
  13. SPOILER BELOW..... My guess is that was some sort of EMP device. They were talking about "getting that chopper out of the air", yet Jack was in the room with the thing...so it would be non-lethal to humans, yet would definitely knock a chopper out of the air, and cause all sorts of other havoc if it went off in downtown LA.
  14. Indeed, there is no place in the world that I'd rather watch a hockey game than Lynah. Its one of the very few places where the home crowd can really effect the outcome of the game....I wish every hockey fan could see one Harvard at Cornell game in their lifetime. ESPNU is starting on March 4th...they say that they will be covering a lot of college hockey...so try to get that on cable/satellite.
  15. I solved it, with a little help from a different perspective. I'll give you a hint....you don't need the grenades in the little cannon thing...get rid of them without blowing anything up. You need everything else in there.
  16. He made the all-star game, but I believe he is currently in Austria playing in the olympic qualifiers or something like that, so he didn't play tonight.
  17. It was 3 shots in the shootout ;-) He looked great...man, i wish the NHL would come back.
  18. I think its real. You can step through Flash and slow it down...I captured a frame where it clearly shows her inside the hoop (you can see the rim). If anyone has web space to put it, I'll send you the capture. You can also definitely see where she hits her head.
  19. Its on tap at a few bars here in CT, though i would have expected more because Labatt USA's headquarters are right in my office complex. You can get it at most liquor stores. The real problem, however, is that Blue is treated as an import...making it a lot more expensive than it is in upstate NY, where its priced as a domestic.
  20. She isn't on the show this year...but im really okay with it....her character was so freakin annoying.
  21. Switzerland at the end of March to ski for 10 days
  22. http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/teams/rankings/BUF Kinda fun to see what they've said about us this year...on 10/26/2004, we were ranked dead last.
  23. Thats alright, we swept their asses
  24. They were called Construx....i remember them very well. I loved those things! Always thought they were more fun than Legos, because you could build much larger things in much less time with them. Don't know if they are still made or not.
  25. At Lynah Rink (Cornell University), one of the most famous cheers is the cowbell cheer. You can read about it (and listen to it) here: http://www.elynah.com/?cowbell I'd be a great cheer to have at a football game, unfortunately it'd just be way too hard to get 70,000 people to know when to yell "Fight!"
