Knox was the Josh Allen of TE’s in his draft, physically gifted but extremely raw. The errors I see from him are primarily mental errors. These are solved with coaching and reps, not cutting and replacing. Legit #1 receiving TE ala Greg Olsen or Mark Andrews is his upside. Not a world-beater or dominator but how many of those exist.

A really underrated component in setting the attitude, on the field, the bench and in the locker room, to physically dominate the opposition is: Lee Smith. He's one of those "sheriff" types or maybe something like an NHL enforcer. Just his presence increases the bully factor of the 10 other guys on the field.

In 2018 I knew nothing other than scouting reports and a few college highlights, but to see some of the throws even on TV, they looked nothing like what I'd heard about inaccurate, scattershot, etc. They looked like high level NFL throws. In those first 2018 preseason games he was zipping these little find-a-space-and-present-the-numbers zone beaters on short routes, and the defense just couldn't react to the velocity and the ball was generally right on the torso. That got my interest. But there was one TD in the red zone, in the second game where Josh hopped to the side to avoid a free rusher and then climbed the pocket and zipped a dart in for a TD to a crosser at the back of the end zone, and that's when I was sold.

There was one bizarre sequence in the WFT game, I had the mute on, but after the benching and quite a few plays had been run, Haskins ran out on the field to the huddle to ostensibly take Heineken off the field. Knox is still projecting to a poor man's Kelce, IMO. Kelce started the same way with dropsies, gradually lessening his drops, but they still happen from time to time. Travis Kelce, that is. Lee Smith projects to a poor man's Jason Kelce.
