  1. Correct. His 14 snaps and 22% of snaps were both the second lowest of the 12 games he's played this year. I expect a low snap count in the finale as well.
  2. We're somewhat parsing credit here and it's not an exact science. No one is arguing that Joe Brady hasn't done a good job. No one is arguing that Josh hasn't improved. To the bolded, I thought so too. I don't know exactly what's caused this regression (if you can call making miracle plays a regression). Maybe it has to do with the MVP thing? Maybe the vanilla game plans are causing him to dig deeper to keep drives alive? Not sure. To the bolded, I think that running the ball, even on plays where you're not "staying on schedule" still has an intangible benefit. It's like body punching in boxing... in that the benefit is not quantifiable. It's been said by others and I agree that you don't have to run effectively as long as you're forcing the defense to honor the run. And I would not consider a 2 yard run on 1st and 10 to be a negative play nor a 2 yard run on 2nd and 8. For this team and QB, those plays are not drive killers like they are for other teams. If the offense's adherence to the run causes the defense to tighten the box, then half the battle is already won. JMO.
  3. I don't disagree... when I have time I'm going to slap a price tag on him... it'll be interesting to see what he signs for.
  4. I hadn't put my finger on it until you mentioned it. Yes, the lack of flags especially DPIs and holdings is VERY refreshing.
  5. I think arguably the Giants did try to tank when they alienated the whole team by naming Tommy DeVito the starter in week 12 over Drew Lock. The tank went out the window somewhat when DeVito was twice injured. He missed time due to injuries, an arm and a concussion.
  6. Talk about 2 great tight ends... Kittle and LaPorta... wow.
  7. The interesting thing is that while the NFC has some really excellent teams (Philly, Minnesota, Green Bay, Detroit), all the truly great QBs are in the AFC.
  8. Bills by position group (alphabetically, + practice squad, not including specialists): Centers (2+1) CBs (5+2) DEs (4+2) DTs (6+1) FB (1+0) G (2+1) LBs (6+0) QBs (2+1) RBs (3+1) S (4+3) OTs (5+1) TEs (3+1) WRs (5+3) The following players would be candidates to be elevated: Will (Mc)Clapp, Frank Gore, Mike White, Zach Davidson, Casey Toohill, Shavers and/or Hamler, and possibly Kareem Jackson, Micah Hyde, or Lewis Cine. But keep in mind that teams are restricted to only 2 Practice Squad call ups each week. Because of these numbers don't be surprised to see O'Cyrus Torrence and David Edwards, Ty Johnson and Ray Davis, Taylor Rapp and Cole Bishop, Quintin Morris, and our wide receivers playing until the 4th quarter.
  9. I see a few complaints about the lack of defense but I'm really enjoying the game. Yes, the defenses aren't great but this is really good offensive play and the intensity is very high. The Niners are not interested in laying down on national TV. It's quite the fight.
  10. Also, Mack Hollins needs 47 yards for 400 yards.
  11. I think it's some combination of steroids, testosterone, and nicotine. Campbell's gonna go through some serious withdrawal when he quits dipping. Someday soon he won't be able to "bite any kneecaps" because he won't have any teeth left. The oddest thing about their unis is that the official color is "Honolulu Blue." In what bizarre universe does the flagship of rustbelt cities have a tropical color? LaPorta is a great player.
  12. A picture is worth a journey of one thousand... you know what I mean.
  13. Quietly... the word is quietly. Any prediction for the future? Yeah his valuation is tricky. I think it's one of those deals where they tell him "you've earned the right to see what's out there for you" and hope that his emotional attachment to the team brings him to a number all sides can live with.
  14. I think that Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch do a good job and they have some good, young talent. But yes, many of their foundational players are pretty old and they have to replace a bunch of parts. Their season was basically a "voyage of the damned" with tons of bad injury luck.
  15. Jerry Rice looks great for 62 years old. Inadvertent blows to the head on consecutive plays.
  16. Thank you. I copied and pasted this from ProFootballTalk. I'm typically not one for playoff scenarios but I'm glad that the info is out there for people who curious.
  17. @Thrivefourfive, I've followed the Bills since 1968 but never made it to a game at the fabled Rockpile, aka War Memorial Stadium. My first Bills game was at Rich Stadium... the same stadium now called Highmark. My Dad took me and my brother. The tickets were an early Christmas gift. The weather was cold, damp, and windy. The Bills lost. And our seats were in the upper end zone. For an inexperienced football fan, it was hard to get a sense of depth. I remember on a few sweeps OJ ran, that it was really hard figuring out how many yards he gained. The other thing I remember is that even though the stadium was less than 2 years old, the "state-of-the-art" scoreboard (among the first to show video replays), was terrible with lots of blown light bulbs to the point where you couldn't make out too much of the video replays. The ride home was dark and the traffic was terrible. The mood was glum. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/197411100buf.htm I'm glad your first experience at the old stadium was better than mine!
  18. I did a bit of research. Not that it means anything but the only time in Josh's NFL career where the last game of the regular season was meaningless ahead of a playoff berth was in 2019. The 9-6 Bills had already locked into a Wild Card spot and played the 6-9 Jets, eventually losing 13-6. Josh played in the first two possessions, covering most of the first quarter. Of course at that time he was in his second year so there might have been some priority on keeping him sharp. Now in his 7th season, this might not be as much of a concern. https://www.espn.com/nfl/playbyplay/_/gameId/401127973
  19. Super happy for you guys that it was a fun and unforgettable experience. 👍
  20. Josh's streak is the 12th longest in NFL history... and counting. As mentioned upthread, thrown to an NFL (team) record 14th different receiver. One drive, one TD, one NFL record > baseball cap. As they say in some industries including mine, the greatest ability is dependability. For people of a certain mindset, there's almost nothing more important.
  21. Well Wharton is often ranked as the top MBA program in the US... and FWIW that's where Trump got his MBA... Rosen is most likely to have a good life as his NFL career earnings were almost $19 million and one would assume he'll be able to avoid going bankrupt. It would be kind of interesting to look back 30 years from now and see who has the most wealth among all the Class of 2018 QBs.
  22. It'll be interesting to see. I think in 2019 (Josh's 1st playoff season) he played one series or one quarter in the season finale versus the Jets after we locked up a Wild Card berth but that might not be relevant to this week's game.
  23. As of this morning (Sunday January 5th) most of the playoff field has been set, but two playoff teams remain to be decided and the No. 1 seed in the NFC will go down to the final game of the season. 24. Yeah, I was temporarily annoyed at Shakir for dropping that one and depriving Josh and everyone of the pleasure of seeing that playing endlessly in highlight packages.
