  1. What is Penn 6 like? I see they're in Midtown and that they have an oyster bar. Are they more upscale than the typical sports bar? Are they pricey by Bflo standards or do they have gameday discounts? Here's their lunch menu: https://static1.squarespace.com/static/5b32b64489c172cc79991d5d/t/61eef75a25bc24652ebfb183/1643050842914/Penn6+Lunch+Menu+.pdf Here's their brunch menu: https://static1.squarespace.com/static/5b32b64489c172cc79991d5d/t/6452ca777e1e442d19142870/1683147383110/Brunch+Menu+Penn+6+_updated+5.3.23.pdf There's mention of "spiced wings" and "dry-rubbed spiced wings" but no mention of "Bflo-style chicken wings" and the menu leans more towards raw than deep fried apps. I see they have fancy cocktails but do they have pitchers? I'm gonna be in NYC next month so these are important details. Thanks.
  2. Like a few others have said, I'm intrigued by the idea of Bernard, Milano, and Williams being on the field at the same time when the opponent is in heavier sets. There wouldn't be an LB corps anywhere near as fast as those three.
  3. In college over 4 years Johnson averaged 24.9 yards on 48 kick returns and 12.3 yards on 4 punt returns. https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/ty-johnson-1.html#all_kick_ret
  4. Great stuff. Thanks for sharing Einstein. #1 and #3 confirm what I have long believed... most people here attribute Josh's greatness to his physical skills. This is partly true. People dismiss or discount that QB is a "neck up" position. If it was simply about physical skills, Ryan Leaf and JaMarcus Russell would be in the Hall of Fame. What separates Mahomes and Allen from all the others is both their athleticism and their football IQ. When you listen to him speak and watch him play it's pretty obvious that Josh is a naturally brilliant person. Not pretentious. Not intellectual. Just brilliant. #9: Josh's avoidance of sacks is nearly unparalleled. He does a deep and shallow shuffle (up and down the ladder) that few QBs employ and it routinely buys him time. Again he's figured out tactics which show that he's a thinking man. I disagree with this. I think the Bills are above average in plaster drills. Diggs is great at it as you say. Gabriel Davis is above average in this area. And Josh isn't making these miracle play extensions without others catching the ball. I think the team overall does a good job of finding voids in the defense when the original play design elapses.
  5. The person you're responding to wasn't necessarily contradictory to your post but your's is an excellent post. I have never thought the Bills as being injury prone under McBeane. Much to the contrary actually. I agree. There's been a lot of talk here about trading for a WR but if the Bills updgraded one position I would want to see an anchor in the middle of the defense for our speedy linebackers to work off of. This is a brilliant post in terms of measuring the impact of injuries However I would say though that man-games lost is the only measure of how well a team's training/strength and conditioning program is working. If the level of injuries is low, then the team is doing well in this regard. They have zero control over which players are injured... that's more a matter of luck. Leonard Williams is a pretty top talent too. The Giants have some nice defensive pieces though they haven't put it all together yet. I think there's something to this. The Bills are a smaller, fly-to-the-ball defense which is why they can defense a team like the Dolphins effectively. I worry that the smaller, faster defense could incur injuries at a higher rate than other styles of defense. Maybe it's just a phobia but I've had this same thought. Yes. @MasterStrategistmade this point when talking about his "% of salary cap" measure. Bottom line though is that the Bills under McBeane have been a model franchise in terms of keeping injury levels low.
  6. I feel confident Johnson will get some touches. Damien Harris had 25 touches in less than 6 games and I don't think the Bills will be shy about giving touches to a 5 year vet with almost 300 touches in his career, and a very nice yards per carry and yards per reception. Like you said, he's a contact runner with good speed and good hands. I won't be surprised if Johnson flashes very well. His video with the Jets is above average and they were never a good offense when he was there.
  7. I wouldn't overstate the point about the Pats weak running game. The Bills aren't only missing Ed Oliver, they're also missing Daquan Jones. The dropoff from these two to Jordan Phillips, Poona Ford, and Tim Settle is fairly huge IMO. Both Oliver and Jones were playing at approximate All-Pro levels. Before this year, most people here were considering Epenesa a bust too. What are the percentages supposed to indicate? Schatz' post is meaningless without knowing what the percentages mean.
  8. Accompanying the news that Damien Harris has been placed on IR is the news that Ty Johnson has been elevated to the active roster. https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/_/id/3915411/ty-johnson Johnson is a 5'10" 210 pound running back who was selected in the 6th round of the 2019 draft by the Detroit Lions. He played his college ball at Maryland. In his NFL career he's averaged 4.4 yards per carry and has 86 receptions (7.8 ypr). He looks like he's a no-nonsense back much like the man he's replacing (click "Watch on You Tube") He wasn't invited to the combine but apparently had a great workout at his Pro Day: "At his pro day, Johnson turned heads with a 4.40 in the 40-yard dash, although it was reportedly clocked at 4.26 by one source. He also posted a 34.5-inch vertical and a 123-inch broad jump. He also posted 27 bench press reps which would have placed him second if he’d been at the combine." https://www.ganggreennation.com/2020/10/6/21500443/scouting-jets-running-back-ty-johnson
  9. 10. From Wednesday's Buffalo News: "Besides Josh Allen (shoulder), other players who were limited were: Kaiir Elam (ankle), Dane Jackson (foot), Cam Lewis (shoulder) and Greg Rousseau (foot). McDermott said Elam re-aggravated an ankle injury that he sustained in training camp."
  11. This is correct. In 7 seasons Milano has started every game only once. Before this season he played in 85 out of a possible 97 games. After this season he will have played in 90 out of a possible 114 games. He's always been a bit injury-prone and now he just gets older and more expensive. His cap hit next year is almost $13 million and grows to over $16 million in 2025 and 2026.
  12. Also... "It was great," Williams said of the experience. "The fans kept giving us energy throughout the game. Obviously, got some things to clean up and play better next week." That part is also true. Williams did miss a pair of tackles, according to analytics website Pro Football Focus, so it wasn't a perfect showing. One of those came on Barkley's 34-yard run in the fourth quarter – New York's longest play of the night.
  13. From today's Buffalo News: "Bernard wasn't just pumping up his teammate when he said that. Williams did, indeed, turn in several impactful tackles. In the second quarter alone, Williams either made a solo tackle or assisted in bringing down Barkley four times on plays in which the Giants' star running back gained 2 yards or less, including one for a loss of 2 yards and another for no gain on a second-and-1 run. In the third quarter, Williams again stopped Barkley, with help from A.J. Epenesa, after a gain of just 2 yards on a first-and-10 play, and also limited a scramble by Giants quarterback Tyrod Taylor to just a 3-yard gain on third-and-14. In the fourth quarter, Williams forced a Taylor incompletion by getting pressure on a third-and-1 play from the Bills' 11-yard line, leading to the Giants kicking a field goal."
  14. We're deep at edge but not deep on the interior. The above is counter to McDermott's belief that games are won and lost in the trenches... on the lines. If Poona is the player he was in Seattle 3 years ago we should be fine. However there are signs both from Seattle and since coming to Buffalo that he's not the same player he was. We're surely about to find out.
  15. What makes you say "extramarital?" There is no indication of that so you shouldn't carelessly make remarks to that effect.
  16. More housekeeping. Zack Moss last 8 Regular Season Games Date ATT YDs YPC 12/17/22 24 81 3.38 12/26/22 12 65 5.42 1/1/23 15 74 4.93 1/8/23 18 114 6.33 9/17/23 18 88 4.89 9/24/23 30 122 4.07 10/1/23 18 70 3.90 10/8/23 23 165 7.17 TOTAL 158 779 4.93 Over these last 8 games Moss is averaging 19.75 carries for 97.38 yards per game and has scored 6 TDs. A bit ironic that he had his best game as a pro on the day that Jonathan Taylor was activated... more fantasy football angst. Actually a legit question. If he turns out to have a career commensurate with his draft status doesn't that mean he was a good pick? Does it not also suggest that it was other circumstances (even bad luck) that prevented him from living up to his draft status with his original team?
  17. Apparently he was more injured than people thought. He did make a vow after signing that he was gonna outperform the contract.
  18. Agree with the OP. Despite the shot, it’s funny.
  19. This might get interesting as Jonathan Taylor moves closer to returning to action. FWIW, Moss is averaging 17.86 rushes and 87.7 yards per game over his last 7 regular season games. He has scored 4 TDs in these games. Jonathan Taylor was just activated minutes ago.
  20. Yeah, I hated seeing the Niners getting another elite pass rusher. That team was already stacked and in my mind they are the biggest obstacle to a Super Bowl Championship for the Bills.
  21. Yes. Randy Gregory would have been a more valuable pickup for the Dolphins IMO.
  22. This is a common error even among "professionals." Some of these people are so inarticulate that they struggle to construct a coherent question. Others just like listening to their own voice.
