Sometimes it seems difficult to assess draft picks when coaching staffs don’t utilize them properly and don’t play to their strengths. All off season the talk was how good Cook was at catching passes and getting him isolated with a linebacker in coverage. I don’t think we ever used him in that capacity at all. Just seems like we are wasting his talents, which would also be a huge boost to Josh and work well against all the blitzes we saw. Hardly used Shakir while McKenzie was underperforming all season. These are just a couple examples, but makes me scratch my head.

Home field used to mean something to past Bills teams. You defended your home turf and made away teams tremble just thinking about playing here. Not this team. That mental toughness comes down from the coaches. Levy, Saban and even Knox would not get pushed around at home. We used that to our advantage. There was no fear from Miami or New England over those last few games, including the wild card game. It showed in the way the games were played. Thank goodness for Hines two returns for td's against the Pats. Something just seems to be different or missing. Can't really put my finger on it, but it just feels that way.

I agree with the sentiment that Dorsey does not keep Josh under control and help him identify open receivers versus taking shots into the end zone. An OC needs to sit down with Josh and rein him in. Maximize his talents by giving him easier reads, reviewing the missed options and adjusting his thought process.

Changes need to be based upon the entire work of the full season. Our defense has lead the league in missed tackles for most of the year. Too many games having wide receivers wide open and zero pass rush, especially with Miller out. Frazier needs to be replaced. Our defensive strategy is not aggressive enough, even saw that from him last year against KC in the playoff game. Beane has his work cut out this off season with both the players and coaching staff.

Agree with you 100%. Tre also has made many game saving plays over the years that have been overlooked. He is smart and makes great in-play decisions. His break up of the pass to Waddle Sunday was huge. The things he does add up over the course of a game. Physically he probably isn’t fully back yet, but should improve each week.

Josh Allen Bashers, what's your solution?
Sestak4ever replied to ChicagoRic's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'll take Josh over any other qb in this league and will ride with him, win or lose, until he decides to call it a career. He has brought more joy and hope to this franchise than anyone I can remember, and I go back to the Jack Kemp, Lou Saban teams. He also is as important to the WNY community off the field. He is our general and would not want anyone leading us in battle. Go Bills!!🏈🍻 -
I also thought Shaq Lawson had another good game.

This game would not have been close, but we made so many unforced errors. Besides the interceptions, which I don't think you blame Josh on those, we had the fumble, long return on the first interception, gave up a long punt return, almost lost a fumbled punt, kick off out of bounds, etc., etc. Could have been very ugly if we lost. I think Josh was trying all those bombs because that's what their defense was giving us. If he hit just one more of those throws we walk away easily. I would not change that way of thinking. We fought back and won. A lit of our teams in the past would have folded under those conditions. Go Bills!

I thought Elam covered Hill about as good as anyone I have seen in a long time. He stayed right with him a few times which made Thompson go somewhere else with the ball. The kid obviously has the physical tools and it appears he is learning as the year goes on. I was impressed with his performance.

Staley is gone after this season. Had multiple chances to put this game away and failed. -
Florio: Brady to the Dolphins "Definitely on the Table"
Sestak4ever replied to Nextmanup's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t believe the Dolphins could afford Lamar. They are going to need to sign Waddle at some point and who knows what gives with Tua. -
I don't trust the Dolphin players or their coach. We need to build a quick lead and make it tough for them to even think they can get back into the game. They have played us dirty before and now their backs are up against a wall. Not sure what they might have up their sleeve, but I just don't trust them.

Nyheim Hines named AFC ST Player of the Week

I thought Bass won it a few weeks ago? -
Mike Girardi reported this morning on NFL network that the Bills looked spent both emotionally and physically all week in their preparation for New England. He said he wasn’t sure how they would be able to handle the game and expected both ups and downs. It will be interesting to see how the prep week goes for this game, especially with Damar just being released from the hospital.

The secondary needs constant pressure from the d line. It appears we get that with Rousseau but nothing from the opposite end. We miss Von Miller for sure. Need someone to step up, whether it's Epenesa, Basham, etc. A strong push from the tackles would help also. We are getting some but not consistently.

He has fresh legs and could be a huge weapon for us in the playoffs. The fins will probably blitz heavily just like they did the two games this season. Cook could be the weapon that makes them pay.

Kansas City Chiefs @ Las Vegas Raiders 1/7/23 4:30pm
Sestak4ever replied to T&C's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Chiefs secondary continuously gets away with holding and interference. -
I blame the refs also for allowing the unnecessary roughness without flagging it and stopping it right there. When referees are not doing their job at controlling the game, whether it be football or hockey, that’s when issues come up with players retaliating. That blast in the back against Johnson should have been flagged immediately.

The Jests; from 7-4 to 7-9. An epic collapse
Sestak4ever replied to Sierra Foothills's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's possible, but how did that work this year for Denver, Indianapolis, Washington and Cleveland? You never know, but I think it's more about the front office and coaching staff. -

It's the Paul Macguire curse. Back in 1986, on national television, he predicted the 10-1 Jets would not win another game. He was blasted by his fellow commentators. The Jets lost their last 5 games just as he predicted. It was amazing. Macguire was great.
