  1. AFC by team: Baltimore 11-5 : 8 players Buffalo 13-3: 2 players Cincinnati 8-8: 3 players Cleveland 3-11: 3 players Denver 9-7: 2 players Houston 9-7: 4 players Indianapolis 7-9: 2 players Jacksonville 4-12: 2 players Kansas City 15-1: 4 players Las Vegas 4-12: 2 players Los Angeles (Chargers) 10-6: 3 players Miami 8-8: 0 players New England 3-13: 1 player NY (Jets) 4-12: 0 players Pittsburgh 10-6: 4 players Tennessee 3-13: 0 players Obviously, Baltimore is over represented and Buffalo is greatly underrepresented. Cleveland, a team with 3 wins has one more pro bowler than Buffalo with 13 wins. Looking at divisions, The AFC East is the least represented with only 3 pro bowlers. The AFC North has 18 players the AFC South (worse than the AFC East in terms of wins and losses) has 8 players in the pro bowl. The AFC West has 11 players. Every year the pro bowl has less and less credibility.
  2. Depends on who Buffalo plays. If the Bills ends up playing against Baltimore, I'll be concerned. I'm not as concerned with just about every other AFC team Buffalo could face.
  3. First, let me state the obvious: The three players I've heard mentioned for MVP consideration are Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and Saquon Barkley. Lamar Jackson has actually had a (slightly) superior year statistically than Josh Allen. Barkley is getting mention (rare for a running back) because he's a 2,000 yard rusher with a chance to surpass Eric Dickerson's all-time season record. It's still hard to imagine a running back getting the MVP award over a QB because a QB touches the ball on virtually every offensive snap, save for a handful of direct snaps to a running back over the course of a season. I figure the race is between Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson. It's Jackson's individual stats versus the fact that Buffalo has a couple more wins than Baltimore and the Bills have a higher point total for the season. It's also possible that having Derrick Henry, who had a dominating season for the Ravens, could work against Jackson. Cook was good for Buffalo, but didn't have near the total yards that Henry has had. My money's on Josh Allen.
  4. My first home game was also against the Jets. It was the early 1980s and the Bills were terrible. It was a Monday night game. The play of the Bills was pitiful and fans got surly. There were fights breaking out all over the stadium and angry fans with full cups of beer were flinging them all over. The spirals looked like little galaxies of beer. It was memorable all right.
  5. How about some screen passes to Tyrel Shavers? Honestly, I wouldn't mind having starters (including Josh Allen) play for up to a quarter. It's a matter of helping players keep sharp. There are some cases of teams (mostly teams that had first round byes) playing sloppy because they had extra time off. I think the benefits outweigh the risk of injury.
  6. You're no fun. We need more Jets fans like Spags. Why can't you predict that when the Jets hire Rex Ryan they will be putting themselves on track to be undefeated in 2025 and win Super Bowl 60?
  7. On defense, the Bills are at least stopping drives eventually, but they're doing an awful lot of bending. The offense, I agree with McDermott, is stopping itself with penalties. Hopefully, McDermott can instill a bit of discipline during halftime.
  8. An average athlete. Daquan Jones and Austin Johnson are safe for the time being. They haven't been great this season, but the Bills can't afford to dump a known quantity for an unknown one even when the known quantity is disappointing. I guess they could cut Quinton Jefferson. He's past 30 and has 2 sacks this season along with a handful of assists on tackles. Otherwise, they could sign him to the PS and see how quickly he picks things up.
  9. Simple. If the Bills have wrapped up the #2 seed after week 17, they rest starters in week 18. If they don't, starters play week 18.
  10. Every Dolphin Goes Eeek!
  11. I wonder if knowledge of Allen's broken hand will have a positive effect on his MVP vote total. when does that vote take place?
  12. The games Coleman missed were later in the season when he was generally more productive in the games he played. There's a good chance that had he played in those five games, his yardage total would have been higher than Worthy's. Coleman has been better than I expected. I think he's going to have a solid career.
  13. Well, at least Buffalo won't have to worry about some team with a coaching vacancy poaching Babich away from Buffalo.
  14. It will be interesting to see what happens in the rematch two weeks from now. What I hope is that Brady and Babich show the ability to study New England's offense and defense and are able to nullify most of the stuff New England was able to do in this game. It will help if they are a little healthier on defense. Fewer phantom penalties on Buffalo would be nice too. Lastly, the special teams need to figure out what they're supposed to do.
  15. Aaron Rodgers = The Grinch
  16. The coaching staff deciding it, and it actually happening (or not happening) are two different things. If Josh sees a situation where he can make an important first down or gain a chunk of yardage, he's probably going to take off regardless of what the coaches plan.
  17. The same question has been asked before. It's not going to happen. Voters greatly overweight turnaround situations. I expect the winner will be from a team that struggled in 2023 and has had a much better 2024 season. Buffalo does not have that much room for improvement. Consistency in team record is weighted less than one year improvement. At least that's the way it looks.
  18. Bills - 27 Cheatriots - 13 Drake Maye shows potential but has no supporting cast. Buffalo goes up, well up, early then takes their foot off the gas by going run heavy through a good chunk of the second half. That, plus bitter cold temperatures cools off Buffalo's high octane offense a bit in this game.
  19. That is the most likely matchup for the conference championship game for sure. Buffalo matches up better versus KC this year compared to the last few.
  20. The physical attributes are similar, but Newton didn't have near the ability that Josh Allen has to dissect defenses and make off script plays when necessary.
  21. I think there is some merit in those arguments, but I agree there is still reason to be concerned about the Bills' D. It is much more of an issue versus some teams, less of an issue versus most teams. For instance, should Buffalo make it to the Super Bowl and Philadelphia is the NFC opponent, I think Saquon Barkley could be a real headache for the Bills.
  22. The Bills seem to have pigeon holed Samuel into the role of a gadget player, but the one game in which he made a significant positive contribution to the offense was the game where the Bills were very shorthanded at WR. This forced Buffalo to play Samuel in more of a traditional receiver role.
  23. Mostly, I want to see Elam and Bishop get more time on the field because I think it would help them get better. Yes, they are faster and more athletic than the guys they replaced, but at some point you need live action to improve your skills.
  24. This is the key. Buffalo is the far better team, but they have shown a knack from time to time of playing down to the level of their opponent. They have to maintain focus.
  25. It's simple. The Buffalo Bills are America's team. Jim Nantz said so. "The winner of this game (Bills vs Lions is America's team) They get better ratings than other teams. CBS is trying to squeeze out ratings however they can even when the Bills are up against a crappy opponent.
