  1. Something here is definitely weird. Trading away your starting QB makes no sense unless there is a plan in place for this replacement. I get it that we wanted to replace Taylor and that the plan may be to trade up for one of the top QBs in the draft, but I highly doubt the goal is to have the newly drafted QB immediately start. I also don't believe that the Bills think that Peterman is the answer as the short-term starter or long-term back-up. Some additional step is needed here.
  2. Would not cost us any compensatory picks to re-sign our own guy.
  3. I have a feeling he will be gone soon, particularly since it seems they tried to trade him before the trading deadline last season. I would like to see him stay, more so if we are planning to play a rookie QB (whether at RT or LT).
  4. Before trading up to get Rosen, I would hope that the Bills would go through whatever back channels would be necessary (such as his agent) to make sure that he would be willing to play in Buffalo.
  5. I am wondering how active we are going to be this free agency period given the apparent preference to sign players that will not count towards the draft pick compensation formula. I would not be surprised if there were very few free agent signings of players with expiring contracts and I am not expecting any big splashes in light of our significant needs and relatively limited amount of cap space.
  6. Interesting that King has the Bills ending up with Rosen. I wonder if he has any contacts on the team and whether the Bills really do like Rosen.
  7. Do we know if Rosen will want to play for the Bills? Seems like he had issues with the Browns.
  8. Does this mean teams can start talking to him now?
  9. I want the Bills to use the picks that they have in the draft. They need quality starters, and with four picks in the first two rounds, we have the potential to get some good, young players and fill needs. Having said that, I do understand trading up for a QB that they believe will be a long-term answer to our long-standing QB need, particularly since we will have our QB cost controlled for at least a few years and we will have a huge amount of cap space in 2019 to add quality free agents and fill holes.
  10. Seems to have an impressive resume as a WR coach.
  11. I tried to find information on Jimmy Robinson and the only information that popped up on Google was for a retired WR coach (Giants, Pack and Cowboys). Was this the guy interviewed?
  12. Teams understand that we will need to cut him so that we do not have to pay his March bonus. They will be patient and wait for that to happen before pursuing him.
  13. I don't think the Pats defense has a lot of talented players. Thought he did a good job under the circumstances during the season, for the most part.
  14. Just a feeling that it will be someone like Bradford if he is available. He would compete with Peterman for the starting QB position. Hoping that this is not where things end up.
  15. If Gaines leaves, we may be drafting a CB with one of our top four picks. People will not be happy if the first four picks look something like DT, LB, CB and LB, but I think it is a real possibility depending on what we do in free agency.
  16. I am wondering if the Bills trade up to draft a linebacker (Roquan Smith from Georgia?). Probably does not mean much, but I thought Allen looked great at the Senior Bowl game. Would not be upset if we used one of our first round pick on him if he was still there (which very likely he will not be).
  17. It certainly would be better in terms of the salary cap if the Bills can find a QB in the draft who will be cost controlled for a number of years rather than making Cousins the highest paid QB in the league. Kind of shocking how much Smith is going to get paid and the portion that will be guaranteed.
  18. I don't think what SP has posted is all that surprising or even particularly new. A lot of what SP is saying seems consistent with other information, signals and action from the front office: 1. Preston Brown will be a free agent and seems like the Bills want a middle linebacker in the mold of Luke Kuechly. I would not be shocked if the Bills traded up if they thought they could get Roquan Smith (Georgia MLB). L. Alexander is old (still solid) and Milano may be a bit small to be an every down player. Would not be surprising if the Bills did end up with three new starters for next season via free agency and the draft. 2. Bills need some more talent/depth at DT, particularly if KW retires. Would expect them to use one of the first round picks on a DT if picks are not traded. 3. If it is true that the Bills asked KW to take a pay cut for this past season, would be not be shocking if they did not offer him much to come back for next season. 4. TT does not seem to be in their plans. The Bills will need a veteran QB as a starter or back-up. 5. There were many reports that the Bills were actively shopping Glenn before the trading deadline, including having a potential deal with Seattle. If true, then it would be no surprise if he is not on the roster to start next season. 6. There have been other accounts/sources that have noted that the Bills really like Darnold. Same with Peterman, including that the Bills tried to replace Taylor with Peterman in season.
  19. A lot of talent has left this team over the last few year. Gilmore, Darby, Dareus (if his head is in it), Bradham and Poz are all quality defensive players. I wish things could have worked out differently and we could have figured out how to make it work with some of these players. It is going to take some time to replenish the talent on the roster. Another strong draft will help, unless we trade away a bunch of picks to move up for a QB or LB. I think the Bills can learn from the Sabres. Use the picks and don't trade them.
  20. What happened with Chud?
  21. Isn't DT one of the biggest needs, maybe only after QB, whether or not Kyle retires?
  22. Pretty amazing how the unit was rebuilt in one offseason to even be competitive after losing Gilmore, Darby, Williams, Robey-Coleman and Graham.
  23. I think the real question is whether he would have helped the Bills this year if he had not been traded. Given that our WR corp was poor this year and Sammy seemed to be healthy during this year, the answer probably is yes. With TT's limitation as a passer, I think the trade resulted overall in a relatively small benefit to the Bills when considered in light of getting a second round pick in the draft for him (unfortunately a late second round pick) versus a third round pick if he had left in free agency in 2018. I don't think he is NE type player. They seem to value players who can pick up the complexities of their schemes and plays. I don't think Sammy is that guy.
  24. I would be surprised if Cleveland took Rosen at this point given his public statements. If Cleveland take Darnold instead and Rosen was available, would Rosen want to play in Buffalo?
  25. As is usual, I assume it will come down to whether McDermott/Beane can find and develop a QB. The Texans' offense looked great with Watson and terrible with the other QBs that have started for them this year. Denver still has a strong defense, but they are on the field too much this year (and short fields because of turnovers and the failure of the offense to even generate yards), and now they look pedestrian. Green Bay was barely able to tread water without Rogers. The Rams have become a strong team because of the development of Goff. Same with Philly with Wentz (until his injury). It really is about the QB.
