  1. Would rather spend whatever room we have under the cap for a starting caliber CB if one is available (i.e., Steve Nelson).
  2. I would not be shocked if they brought in another veteran RB. Could be someone like Bell, although I am not sure he has anything left or would be interested in playing for the Bills.
  3. Strange year because of Covid and opt-outs, but a big part of the uncertainty is that we have not drafted around this spot in a long time, so we have no idea what players will be available to us by the time we draft (unless we want to trade up).
  4. Interesting theory about Edmunds, but I don't think we would get much more than a third round pick (if that) for him. He had a down year last season and he will be expensive after this year, either because of the 5th year option or a new contract.
  5. This is an interesting topic with a lot to speculate about. I could see the Bills drafting a CB, center, WR or LB with the first or second round pick for the reasons noted in this thread. A first round CB could be a day 1 starter. The Bills also could be thinking about a replacement for Star, so I would add DT to the list, including in the first round. The Edmunds situation will be interesting. I have a feeling that they will not pick up the option but say all the right things when announced that they want to negotiate a long-term extension with him, whether or not there is real interest in doing so.
  6. Starting to believe that there is a lot of risk associated with almost all of the edge prospects (more than usual given the opt outs and the overall odd past college season). Even with the clear need for a better pass rush, I am starting to think that the Bills should draft a CB, RB or offensive lineman in the first round this year based on the limited information that I have seen.
  7. At least a couple of players that can meaningfully contribute immediately. The Bills are a good team, but need to be better than last year. Since we were limited in free agency because of the lower salary cap, one of the only sources of improvement will need to come from rookies who are better than incumbent players currently on the team.
  8. I would take a shot with Marlon Mack if he is healthy. He is versatile, and if we sign him to a one-year prove it deal, he will be motivated.
  9. Watching Terry Miller return a kick-off for a touchdown in his rookie year in 1978 when attending my first home game for the Bills after my family moved to Buffalo.
  10. You have to think with so much turnover in personnel for most teams, combined with the more limited opportunities for offseason team work, that this continuity on offense and defense will only help us this upcoming season.
  11. I don't think we have a replacement for Milano on the roster and I would not expect a rookie to be able to fill that role, even if he is a pick in the first or second round. With our salary cap constraints, I also doubt that we will be able to sign an equivalent replacement. I understand the concern with Milano's history of injuries, but he is one of the few players on defense that seems to make plays, including providing pressure on the QB when blitzing or causing a turnover. I think his mix of abilities will be hard to replace, and I don't really see Edmunds with the same abilities or instincts.
  12. I think it would be a mistake to not make re-signing Milano a priority. The defense improved significantly when he returned from injury and I think his skill set will be very hard to replace.
  13. Just seems to me that Tampa has a lot more talent than we do overall, particularly with their o-line, d-line, linebackers, running backs and TEs. We have a lot of guys who are a bit above average or above average, but not many blue chip players at these positions. Edmunds continues to be the biggest mystery to me. He gets a lot of tackles and gets votes for the various all-star teams at his position, but his instincts seem to be off. It becomes more noticeable when you watch TBs linebackers play.
  14. I have wondered why the Bills traded Teller. He has developed into a blue chip guard with the Browns. Would have been great to have him on the Bills now given the at best average play of our current guards.
  15. Seems to me that the only really tough calls for our UFAs will be Milano, Williams and Feliciano. If we re-sign all of them, it could cost us at least $25 million in total. Given that we are right at the cap now not including necessary cap space for the draft, we would need to do a lot of restructuring or cutting just to be able to bring these three back.
  16. We still need to upgrade certain positions and we also will lose players that will need to be replaced (probably Milano). This means that we will need to draft really well since we will be tight against the cap with a lower overall cap this year because of Covid and the possibility of a new contract for Allen. I would think the needs in order of priority will be CB, linebacker and RB.
  17. The Bills made no plays tonight except for the fumble recovery from the punt and Poyer stopping Williams after a swing pass. That was it. KC was better than us at every position on offense and defense and with their game plans on offense and defense. I will never understand how we allowed Kelce to be so open all game without making any adjustments. Bean has work to do this offseason. We have a lot of players that are average or a bit above average, but very few that are real stars other than Josh, Diggs, Beasley and usually White (although not tonight). We really need to figure out what we have with Oliver and Edmunds. They both lack consistency and have been failing to make big plays. The o-line has been okay all year, but Allen makes them look better than they are and we can upgrade the guard play. The d-line needs tackles who can stop the run and linemen that can generate better overall pressure on the QB. RB also is a real need. I like Moss, but I think we need a #1 back who is a difference maker rushing and catching the ball.
  18. Field position and play calling killing us so far. Really have been out coached so far.
  19. Thanks for all of the responses. I am worried to play Metcalf, but has been so good this season. Will probably bench him for this week's (and final) match-up and hope I don't regret it. At least Kamara has given me a nice cushion for minor mistakes. He was awesome today.
  20. In my fantasy finals and I have Kamara. Great start. Some fantasy football advice and thoughts on the below would be appreciated: Can play two of the WRs with Sanders (Eagles) or Bell (Chiefs) or all three of the WRs below. Metcalf (Seahawks) against Rams (and Ramsey who held him in check the last time they played) Sanders (Eagles) against Cowboys (poor rushing defense) Bell (Chiefs) against Falcons Diggs (Go Bills) against Pats Ridley (Falcons) against Chiefs
  21. Milano has been a very good player when healthy and seems to be a particularly good fit for the schemes that the Bills play on defense. Unfortunate for him (and the Bills) that he has been injured this season. His absence hurts the defense and the back-ups have played poorly. Will be interesting to see if we can keep him with a short term contract or if another team will be willing to pay him notwithstanding that he will miss significant time this season and what some would characterize as being prone to injury The salary cap will also be a factor in free agency, both for Milano's prospects for a long-term deal from the Bills or another team and the ability of the Bills to retain him on a short or longer term contract..
  22. Mercilus would be a great addition, but don't we need help at MLB as well?
  23. Didn't the Panthers have a historically bad defense last year? We already have Butler and Addison from that defense. Would Poe really be of any help (a third defensive lineman from that team)?
  24. Unfortunately, he is unreliable. We can't wait on him to develop during the season or later. He has to go.
