  1. This play effectively negates the read option. The whole point of the play is to read the end man on the LOS or EMOL. In order to do this, the QB needs to hold the Mesh point with the back as long as possible to get a commitment from the EMOL. If the Mesh can no longer be extended, the read option is no longer a read.
  2. According to PFT, they put an optional meeting (15 minute Special Teams) on the formal schedule, which in turn made the meeting mandatory? I am thinking the NFLPA observer was a player in the Union with a dinner date.
  3. These guys need to eat, sleep, and breathe football! There is absolutely no time, whatsoever, for any offseason interests outside of lifting weights, throwing footballs and bashing homers and Micah's thing! /s These guys are more than just football players. They are people with families, interests, hobbies, entrepreneurial spirit, etc. I have no doubts that Josh, and others like Pat Mahomes (who also is all over the place) are putting in the work to be ready for the season and to be at their best. Lifting weights and doing some football activity takes maybe 3-4 hours on a given day?
  4. We're onto Sherfield, Shorter, Hardy, and Shakir. Hynes is the returner. 6th rd guys who make big contributions and earn a second, big-money contract are rare. Take a chance on a guy with elite speed and question marks in the 6th round. If it pans out, great! If not, oh well.
  5. I only skimmed, so apologies if I am restating someone else's point. The offense will include several "packages" which will include different personnel and have different focuses. For example: A Heavy-type package might be call Bear and it focus on running the ball and play action. It could include 21 Personnel where we'd have Knox, Gilliam, Harris, Davis and Shorter. You could also have a "Light-Heavy"-type package that was 22 personnel and have more of a passing focus. Call it Tiger. This could be Knox, Kincaid, Hynes, Cook, and Diggs. Obviously there are tons of potential packages and personnel groupings to take advantage of throughout the course of a season. These will change based on availability, game plan, rhythms, etc. Looking forward to seeing how the different players are used and the packages that the Bills run this season. Personally, I am looking for some more screen passes and taking advantage of deep safeties with underneath passes and delayed handoffs to Cook and Hynes. Go Bills!
  6. Guys probably like doing it. I bet they get put up and all of that plus a little reunion with other guys who were playing during their careers. Also, Freddie! Freddie! Freddie! Loved watching him play! Fred Jackson Highlights
  7. Not loading...anyone wanna post a screen shot or image?
  8. Rules are rules. Ignorance of the rule is not an excuse. I cannot believe any of the people involved were ignorant of the rules.
  9. Murray attended Onondaga High School and was Gatorade Football Player of the Year in NY in 2007. He spoke at an event I attended a few years ago. He seems like great guy and a hard runner.
  10. Has anyone asked Hyde, Poyer and White? They, uh, might have some thoughts...
  11. Solid assessment! I agree that the moves have been upgrades at the positions. I like Harty and Sherfield's potential and Harris is the Hammer that Zach Moss wasn't. Hines, Cook and Harris should all be active on Game Days. I am looking forward to an expanded role for Hines. He offers some versatility, especially in WR or RB screen games. Hines on a Tunnel Screen would be Deadly if we could block it.
  12. A lot will depend on the replacement in Buffalo, but the Bar isn't 4 years $50million guaranteed high.
  13. But he doesn't want to hang out with them. He is notorious for disappearing and going off the grid in the offseason. Some strange reports from the 49ers about trying to find him prior to the OTA season ramping up. Jimmy Ghost?
  14. I heard he lives with Von Miller, so he is probably way cooler than we realize.
  15. I believe this is the best answer. I think I like this idea, if its very late. He willed that team to more victories than they deserved while he was the QB.
  16. That definitely had the look of something they drew up in May and then tried once in practice "just to see" and looked better than they thought. The next conversation was "No way that works against another team's punt return unit, right? Right?" "Well, we have the HoF game..." I'd be willing to bet there were some friendly wagers amongst the coaching staff about whether it would work or not.
  17. I think he is a good back and one most teams would want on their teams. He has the vision and balance to make zone run schemes work, along with short area quickness to elude defenders and make a sudden burst through a hole. His pass pro is excellent, and if the Bills ever threw a screen pass I think he would dangerous in those open field with blockers situations. He does not possess the high end speed that Cook or Hines has, but he can play in the NFL and the Bills have not been wrong about him being their starter.
  18. Too bad it won't be the last we see of him on NFL Sundays. He is going to crush our living rooms as an analyst. Yay. /s
  19. Simms report seemed pretty thin... Calling who? Mac's brother? McDaniels? O'Brien? I don't know but it doesn't sound like much here. Simms isn't my style, so maybe its me, but there just isn't a lot of substance in his quote in the article.
  20. I have a small bet on the Bills and Dolphins over 43.5 this weekend. I am thinking Thompson is likely to turn it over at least once which would hopefully give the Bills a short field. We'll see, but the Bills may not need much help from the Dolphins to cover the 43.5 points.
