  1. Counterpoint: Week 1 (on my work computer so copy pasting images is kind of a chore) Also look at his overall pass chart for 2022, he's deadly over the middle, throwing to the right side (because he's a southpaw) but his shorter passes to the sidelines are where he struggles (relatively).
  2. Watch the pass spread charts for Tua, he LOVES the middle of the field and crossing routes and hates throwing to the sidelines because he doesn't have the arm strength. Bills have to clog the middle and the sideline from the hash where the ball is snapped from. Force Tua to throw to the sidelines past the sticks. His arm doesn't have the velocity to get it there quickly enough and those routes can be jumped by a well positioned LB or safety.
  3. The Pats play very sound defensive football, for the level of talent that defense has it's punching well above its weight. Like McD, BB is VERY good at maximizing the talent he has on D. If they had 1-2 playmakers/game wreckers on that D it would be scary good. Their problem is they can't generate offense to save their life. If their offense was moderately competent they would have handed the Fins an L.
  4. Eh, how many years did NE look messy in some games, dominant in others or just looked like a good but not great team that just made a play when it mattered? I think the Bills are plenty good, good enough to win a championship for sure. They just need to be able to make a play when it really matters.
  5. My impression is the same as it is every year, September is a liar. The power rankings will be accurate come November.
  6. I'm just going to point out that I can't believe we're experiencing an era of Bills football that I'm alive for where the major topic of conversation on the board is that our offense looks 'clunky' or 'disjointed' despite literally being one of the top 5 scoring offenses the last few years. Most NFL teams would KILL for our offensive production and all we can do is moan that it doesn't look pretty enough 🤣
  7. It’s almost as if this FO is good at their jobs, despite the gnashing teeth here 😂
  8. That 2010 Chargers squad is the proverbial case study for why special teams play DOES matter.
  9. Those shows are just content generators for the clips posted to socials and youtube. I watch clips of those shows on socials, but actually sitting down and watching any of that drivel live? Ugh.
  10. It's coach speak. Smart football is conservative football when the situation calls for it. No coach wants to go on record saying they want their offense to play conservatively, that's almost an insult to your players.
  11. Remember that season when the Chiefs started 3-4, Mahomes was throwing all sorts of picks all over the place and their offense was getting stymied by the 2 deep shell and their offense looked limp and lifeless? Remember how they sorted that out? I remember. I'm gonna chill and let the season develop, there's 16 more games and I've watched enough football that what September shows you is rarely the truth.
  12. I'm excited and optimistic, but it feels more quiet and determined. I know this team can be great. The last two years was a lot of chest puffing because everyone ***** on the Allen pick, crapped on us trading for Diggs and it's been nothing but absolutely right. I was insanely hyped last season when we traded for Miller and it looked like we were just gonna steamroll the league weeks 1-2. Then the injuries happened. I'd rather this team starts slow and peaks at the right time than comes out guns blazing and runs out of gas by the middle of the season.
  13. Man chose the bag instead of the ring, can't hate. Can't create generational wealth with Super Bowl rings. Big bag of money on the other hand...
  14. Maybe it was game plan as well, but I just don't see a very robust passing game with the Lions. I get weird shades of Greg Roman and the 49ers and Ravens offenses where the running game is extremely well developed and absolutely lethal but the passing game has maybe 5-10 plays. Maybe it's anecdotal, but I swear the only pass play the Lions have is that in-cut to the middle of the field and Goff completes a pass to a WR between the hashes. Everything else is screens and short passes to a TE.
  15. I give the Lions major props for this W, that's a tough thing to do to go into Arrowhead as an underdog and play a hard nosed game against the former SB champs. That being said, week 1 is always a liar. I've watched so many teams (*cough* Chiefs, Pats *cough*) start slow, go 2-2, everyone saying the sky is falling and then they go into October having sorted out their ***** and just grind out W's otw to another SB. This game tells us nothing. We see the Chiefs in December and we'll know exactly what kind of team they are by then.
  16. And Jones is 29 vs Bosa's 25, no chance Jones gets another long term deal with major guarantees unless it's front loaded and full of cap/contract shenanigans so that KC could cut loose in ~3 years.
  17. I honestly don't care, let them get hyped up. Honestly don't care too much either if the Bills start slow like 2-2 or something while we find our groove. How many years did the Pats or Chiefs start slow with everyone clamoring 'dynasty over' only for them to settle in and just grind out wins otw to a championship?
  18. Honestly, I don't know why people don't properly cover Kelce unless there's just magic/misdirection in how the plays for KC develop. We had a really good gameplan against them during both regular season wins with Tre or Neal just shadowing Kelce, getting in his face and if he caught the ball tackling him hard and making him feel it. Kelce is a bit of a finesse player at this point who works zones well but you can throw him off his game if you bump/rub him at the LOS to throw off timing and making him pay dearly for every catch he does make.
  19. Can confirm the tailgate at lot 26 goes hard and is a great time. Always attended when I lived near the city and could make it to games at MetLife. Arrive early, the lot fills in FAST.
  20. Bolded for emphasis, that’s literally the Brady blueprint. We just need to get the line play on offense sorted out and this team should be consistently good until Allen gets old.
  21. I’m not really sure what you mean here 🙂 I try to refrain from shoulda-woulda-coulda-ing any games. The final score is the final score and ultimately that’s all that matters in the end. All of the games against NYJ and MIA were close. MIA got the stops they needed and scored more points and we didn’t, doesn’t matter that we were chucking the ball all over the yard on them. In the end we walked away with an L. The fact that all 3 games were close as hell against them, with that first one being a loss should tell you it wasn’t a fluke.
  22. Oh I know that we dominated them completely by all measurable offensive metrics, doesn't change what the final score was. In 2020 we also dominated the Titans in that Tuesday shitshow game if you look at offensive metrics but the final score tells a very different story. Offensive stats don't mean much if don't turn those into points.
  23. Jets and MIA's lines may be trash but both of those teams gave us fits last year. Even with a practically non-existent offense the Jets defense completely stymied our efforts. We really struggled to put up points on them. All 3 MIA games were much closer than they had any right to be. I agree that we'll probably roll the Pats, the other two teams are gonna be dogfights.
  24. That's exactly right, you don't need the best defense but it has to show up when it matters. Chiefs and Bengals may have not had the best defense but when they needed a play to keep their hopes alive someone on that defense stepped up. You can have the best defense in the league, but it means nothing if it turns into a pumpkin in the biggest moments.
  25. Spagnulo's and Anarumo's defenses are always somewhere in the middle of the pack and it's enough to get them to the Super Bowl or the AFC title game year after year. We shouldn't need the best defense in the league to get to and win a Super Bowl.
