    I feel like this myth involves Bill Belichek and something about it making the ball spin differently, causing more muffed punts.

    You can play some roster musical chairs if you need to bring someone onto the 53 and then IR them so they’re not on IR for the entire season. That would be a way to keep Johnson on the roster temporarily until the other players IR clock runs out.

    Stevenson is hurt. They can IR stash him. Duke is an easy cut because he’s a vested veteran so isn’t subject to waivers if they want to do any handshake deal roster shenanigans.

    Pretty sure it’s just like any business sector. No one’s going to outwardly share but it’s a small world and I bet a lot of industry people know each other. If you have friends in the right places you can get some intel off the record.

    McDaniel comes from the Shanahan stretch zone school where TE’s have a lot of blocking responsibilities. Gesicki is a ***** blocker and has basically just been playing as a big WR in the Dolphins offense the last couple of years. He’s admitted as much so his value in their new offense is low.

    Eh you could see it even on his preseason tape and his rookie year. Even then you could tell Allen was going to be entertaining. He might not have been good, that was still TBD, but like Fitz he was gonna try and win you the game when it mattered. That’s what I loved about him when he was rookie. He was gonna try and cash that check, even if he couldn’t.

    2rb sets with Singletary and Cook are gonna be lethal. Can’t stack the box or Cook gets the edge and takes off. Spread the front 7 and force them to defend the edge and Singletary slashes up the middle for 5-10yrds. Play action off that and it’s easy first downs all day long.

    Other than that one playoff run where they smoked the Ravens with rookie Lamar and then got torched by Brady for daring to play zone defense against him I don’t think I’d call Lynn a coach who coached good teams. He had a great Chargers team and underperformed. Some of his in game situational clock management was criminally bad.

    I don’t see how we have any leverage to trade him for anything. He’s a vested vet with 5 accrued seasons and would be a FA of released. Any team could just wait for us to release him, foist us with the cap hit and then sign him. We’d basically be paying for him to play elsewhere.

    Also Elam gets drafted, shows up to camp and basically gets told "see Diggs, Davis and McKenzie over there? Cover those dudes" Diggs has regularly made the top CBs in the league look utterly silly the last 2 years. We're expecting our first round pick to be prime Revis first day of camp? Come on.

    D Line is deep this year and the S&C staff for the Bills have been really good about properly rehabbing soft tissue injuries so they don't linger or re-aggravate during the season. They've also been extra cautious in camp and preseason, probably at the recommendation of the S&C staff. I trust that the team knows what it's doing.

    I don't think it's too spicy of a take to say that our second string defense could hold its own statistically with about half of the defenses in the NFL atm.

    You never want to see any starters go down in preseason. That’s just the worst.
