1993 Houston Wildcard Comeback- Where were you guys
FLFan replied to Ice bowl 67's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was living in Albany at the time, and I am from Buffalo, but it would be very cold to me now. You are right - been to colder games - always colder when you are losing though. I don't recall being cold by the end. ? -
1993 Houston Wildcard Comeback- Where were you guys
FLFan replied to Ice bowl 67's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At the game. It was a very cold day and we were pretty miserable after the first half, and especially after Houston scored in the second half, but we decided to stick it out for another series or two. Very glad we did obviously. Other than the drubbing of the Raiders to go to their first Super Bowl, the comeback game was the most fun I ever had at a Bills game, or any sporting event. What a feeling. What an experience. -
The truth you say? By all means enlighten us on the truth. Here is some truth for you: Men who hit women are despicable, gutless, and less than real men. There is no middle ground here. This has always been true, and will always be true, and the fact that there was once a time when it was acceptable behavior in this society and perpetrators could more easily hide behind some of the lame excuses people are offering up here is not cause for nostalgia about the past.

Nick O'Leary Signs a 1-Year Extension with Miami
FLFan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Doomed! -
We need to stack as many wins as possible. While I do not buy in to momentum, I do buy in to teams learning what it takes to win. Crucially important with the young core on this team, starting with Allen. Winning breeds confidence and positive experience to be leaned on going forward. Losing breeds, well, losing.

I would love to see the Bills hand Marrone an epic beatdown. Cannot stand the guy. -
Pregame thread: Jags at Bills, 1 pm on CBS
FLFan replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No question this is what his comments are about, and it says a great deal more about Ramsey’s intelligence and maturity than it does about Allen’s at this point in their lives. Ramsey is talented but he is a knucklehead. -
Week 12: Jaguars Game Preparation - Inactives Announced
FLFan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I suspect most "experts" do not believe the Bills can score points against the Jags, and this certainly is the easy conclusion. From my perspective, the Jags will not score a TD on the Bills who have as good a defense at least as the Jags. Home field and turnovers in this one carry the day. It will not be pretty but the Bills win. -
David Carr: Vikings Made a Mistake Paying Cousins $84M
FLFan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Totally agree. I watched this guy play in Washington every week. He is not a winner, not a leader. He puts up meaningless stats but does not lift his team. He is the opposite of a big game QB. Skins fans were happy to see him go. He has nowhere near the talent of either Rivers or Stafford. Good for him that he out manuvered the Skins and cashed in, but he was never going to be worth the money. Keenum is less talented but has heart that Cousins will never have. Minnesota screwed up here. -

Doug Marrone is a terrible coach. Thought that was obvious by now. -
There is no way we will beat the Jaguars

This is the kind of hard hitting analysis we have come to expect around this forum lately. Well done. -
Start Josh Allen (healthy) or Matt Barkley?
FLFan replied to TonyBeets's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The sudden confidence in Barkley is the same overreaction we have been witnessing here all season, albeit in a different form. Personally, I am not getting too high over what we witnessed yesterday, nor was I getting too low over what we witnessed the previous game. Steady as she goes and eye on the prize. This season is all about getting Josh Allen ready to compete at a high level. He is not going to do that sitting on the bench watching Matt Barkley play, who will return to the mean soon enough. This game was a great boost to the team - a confidence building experience for sure. We knew the defense could dominate. Lets hope yesterday's performance provides some positive lessons and renewed confidence on the offensive side of he ball, but I want to see Allen under center against Jacksonville. -
Le'Veon Bell Will Sit Out for the Entire 2018 Season

Someone should have given Bell a lesson on the present value of money. -
Bills vs. Jets Postgame and Bye Week News
FLFan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is not only possible that we surprised a poorly coached team, and that Barkley will regress to back up level, it is a virtual certainty. He has been in this league for six years and has had a few good games. He has also been with six different teams for a reason. He did not suddenly become something he is not after 1 week with the Bills. Allen is the QB of this team and needs to play. -

Not even a question. Barkley may have played himself into a backup job, but Allen plays the rest of the way. -
Gaines released....Wallace promoted
FLFan replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gaines was the weakest link on the defense. He was not brought in to start at outside corner and it showed. Good move. -
I suppose it can be debated how you define tanking, but it was obvious when virtually all available resources were spent to build the defense and draft a QB, while virtually nothing was spent on the rest of the offense, that while they were hoping for the best, they were not really planning to win this year. Call it what you will. The hysteria around here is comical.

McD - Allen isn't too far off in throwing again
FLFan replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I see your point, but do not agree. It seems totally distracting to me in practice and a waste of a valuable resource that could either yield a premium player at a need position, or two or more very good players and potential starters in a trade down scenario. I would not be opposed to the Bills using a later round pick on a promising developmental type to be third string behind (hopefully) a competent veteran to back Allen up. (finally ending the great Peterman experiment) -

FLFan replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Then he needs to get all the reps as #1, not some half baked competition. This is the price for drafting a QB. They need the time and the reps, and if it does not work out it sets you back. Giving him half a year this year, with an injury thrown in the middle, and minimum reps during the training camp because of this year's idiotic three way competition, is not going to yield a yes or no answer no matter what happens the rest of this year. The Bills have many other holes to address with a top 5 pick, if that is where they end up. Fix the OL, add some skill position players, and see what he can do with a full year as unquestioned number 1. -

Well, at least you gave him a fair chance to develop. -
Lets not forget "excape". Whoever had the idea of putting this guy on Monday night broadcasts ought to be fired.
