I think this is more likely than not. He has not impressed me as a leader. I guess we will see now that QB excuse has been taken away, but implosion of the Jets at the first sign of trouble would not at all surprise me. The Bills are still the class of the division until somebody proves otherwise. 13 wins is a realistic target. 11 or 12 would not shock me, nor will it cost them the division in my opinion.

Thad Brown the first to be offended by Josh
FLFan replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am not sure he was first. I tuned in WGR the morning (I know, first mistake) and Jeremy White’s stooge (Nate Geary?) was making a big deal about this. I turned it in again three hours later and was still incredulous about it. You and everyone else needs to start ignoring this horrid, useless, arrogant for no reason troll who calls himself a genius and is anything but. -
Yes, they do, and Jets are the new darlings so I expect every break to go to Sauce again.

Exactly. As the owners have stated, their expectations, for both the Bills and Sabres, are sustainable success with an opportunity to win championships. Beane and McDermott have done that. Adams and Granato are building the same way. They want to win championships, but I think it is highly unlikely that Terry Pegula abandons the goal of sustainable success based on whim, or short term disappointment, or certainly fan expectations. Their time will come.

Yes, and despite the lurking lynch mob among the fans, they are universally respected among their peers. So much so, for example, that the Giants are trying to replicate the Bills success utilizing key lieutenants and process and approaches implemented by the Bills. Neither would be unemployed very long if Pegula decided to fire them. They have earned a great deal of rope with the Pegulas and I doubt seriously whether this is even a conversation they would entertain for at least two more years, but as you say, likely much longer, unless a total disaster would happen.

Only if you also post your IQ score.

Unsurprisingly, there is a great deal of whining about your post.

Bills promote Eric Washington to assistant head coach
FLFan replied to elroy16's topic in The Stadium Wall
It would be a rare organization indeed where senior managers did not hire people they know and trust for key positions when possible and warranted. In fact, said managers would be fools for not doing so. -

Beasley claims Dak is "best leader he ever played with by far"...
FLFan replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
The real question here is who care what Beasley thinks, about anything? At this point he is like a pimple that just won’t go away. -
This is actually hilarious. Sal C is not employed to provide objective analysis. He is employed to provide a fans perspective on the Bills based on his football knowledge and somewhat limited journalistic skills. He makes no bones about his fandom. He wears it on his sleeve. I actually find his reporting insightful at times and useful in understanding what is going in behind the scenes and anticipating moves the Bills might make, what they are thinking, etc. Why? The team and the players trust him with access. Every team and market has at least one guy just like this. If it is so called objective and critical analysis you are looking for, there are plenty of options nationally and , yes, also in the local media, whom are not all captive to the Bills. You can just check in here as well where there is certainly no shortage of people trying to sell you their opinions as objective facts. If you are expecting Sal to join the fire McBean chorus, for example, you are barking up the wrong tree.

Excellent post. Daboll is getting lots of credit, and some of it is deserved, but largely it is just that he is being compared to such incompetent coaching that proceeded him, for many, many years. We will see his he does this year, but I think Jones will show himself to be the mediocre QB that he is. They are a distant third in that division at best. One other point: you would be hard pressed to find a single coaching technique or approach that Daboll used last year that did not come from his time with McDermott.

Hopkins released by Arizona (7/16: signed by Titans)
FLFan replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
The continuing fascination with Hopkins is becoming laughable for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is that he showing himself to be the opposite of the type of player who might put the Bills over the top. -
I had not seen this posted yet. The contract details for Oliver are out. There is a good summary here: https://apple.news/ADJ6L-PASS_2cFdDkYyfP2w. The details are also available on Spotrac. As I suspected, it is essentially a new 5 year contract with an out after 3. Very cap friendly for the first two years. The details reenforce my view that this is a good value contract for a very good, though not elite, player.

You are doing a good job of bringing Newcam along, Scott. Good mentoring.

An incentive the individual cannot control is not an incentive. It needs to be personal performance based.
