  1. Thee are no doubt a number of issues with the Bills right now but in my view the bulk of the problem has been player execution. It was largely in the offensive side the previous two weeks, but this week the defense stepped up and largely played poorly. It starts with Allen and he has been inconsistent at best, missing reads and missing throws at critical times. Missed blocking assignments up front, stupid penalties, drops have all contributed to killing drives at inopportune times. Defensive technique and execution were major problems with the D this week. I know people want to blame the coaches, and if the players are executing this poorly they certainly are in line for some blame, but the players need a major kick in the arse, and hopefully this can contribute.
  2. I would be shocked. NE is a bottom feeder with no offensive weapons, no pass rush, and a substandard secondary at the moment. Yes, the giants game, blah, blah. The Bills win this one going away.
  3. He should know about poor number 2s since he was one.
  4. True enough, but the reality is that the Bills second team defense should have no trouble against the Pats starters.
  5. Really? In what way are the Patriots capable of exploiting the Bills defense if Oliver does not play? Sorry, but I don’t see it.
  6. Hardman was part of the big infusion of so called offensive talent to the Jets this year that everyone was so excited about. Yeah, not so much. In fact, other than the return of Breece Hall who is looking very good, the others are meh, all looking a bit washed. Cook is beyond his prime, as is Cobb and Lazard is uninspiring. Would Rogers have made this crew more productive? Possible, (although he looked pretty washed himself last year) but other than Wilson and Hall, they lack legitimate weapons. Pretty sad commentary on Hardman that he can’t contribute.
  7. Playoff spots are not decided in October. There are 11 more games. Guess what? They will be fighting for a spot all year long, as is every other team. None are wrapped up, every team has had stumbles and will continue to do so. If your expectation is that your team is going to play dominant football each and every week and that will then portend a championship, I think perhaps it your expectations that need adjusting. It is a grind, for everyone, and a great deal of both positive and negative situations will happen to each team between now and then. Their track is just fine.
  8. True or not, and I suspect there is more to it than Lynch will admit, the reason he left the Bills is that he was traded because he was being outperformed by a free agent from the USFL and he already had two strikes in the NFL personal conduct policy - the hit and run on Chippewa and being pulled over with an illegal firearm in the trunk in Oakland. I am sure he was not happy in Buffalo, but no one was particularly happy with him either.
  9. I imagine he will be running quite a bit - for his life - to very little effect in the end I suspect.
  10. Personally, I cannot remember ever not being interested in a Bills game.
  11. Don’t we have other more pressing priorities for an upgrade that would occupy a roster spot? I assume you would cut Shaq Lawson for Clark? At that end of the rotation, would the loss of Shaq’s edge setting ability really be worth the small potential upgrade in pass rush of Clark on his (at best) 20 snaps per game. I just don’t see the fit at this time. A CB could be an upgrade, or an outside LB given the depth chart at those positions, but DE is the strongest position group on the defense at this time, perhaps on the whole team.
  12. Finally, signs of intelligent life on this issue from a national media source.
  13. Clark would be 5th in the rotation at DE at best on this team. No thanks.
  14. If they allow the Giants to score 24 points I am going to be very concerned.
  15. Probably, but I think it is highly likely that Tyrod is not as quick and elusive as he once was. I doubt he has fixed his one read, half the field tendencies either. He will be running for his life much of the night I suspect. If you actually believe this you are truly delusional. Drugs are bad.
  16. Yes, but he was 3 years younger. He was slow to begin with and I can’t imagine he is any faster now. There is a reason they let him go. McD has a real puzzle to figure out here in terms of run support from that position vs pass coverage. Klein may be the best option, but let’s not kid ourselves - this is a big problem - especially with Jones gone as well. I will be interested to see how McD approaches this. At least they do not have a passing game to worry about against the Giants.
  17. Rogers is a delusional narcissist, so take that proclamation for what it is worth.
  18. I think you have the score basically right but in the wrong direction. No way the Jags score 27 on Buffalo. I see a close game going into the 4th and the Bills pull away. Jags D is more effective than their O at this point. The time change issue is BS. bills 27 Jags 16
  19. Thanks for posting. I thought this was an excellent analysis especially in explaining how Dorsey is scheming to give Josh open receivers and running lanes in the red zone. Very helpful.
  20. I realize it is not Madden, but thanks for pointing that out. I also realize competent OL are scarce. My point is that WR is the absolute least of their issues. Seems like an odd focus for the GM of an NFL team whose defense just got pummeled and whose QB just also took a beating. I might save my powder for a real need, is my point.
  21. You would have thought a DB who can actually cover or an OL would have been a bigger priority but it’s the Dolphins.
  22. The poster from the Miami board reminds me of several posters on this site in terms of style and lack of intelligence. Not saying he is one of ours, but just interesting to see their forum haunted by this type of troll as well.
  23. I think this game is perfectly predictable. The Bears are a bad team with a bad coach.
