So are we just done expecting Von Miller to do anything?
FLFan replied to dayman's topic in The Stadium Wall
In general, fan expectation regarding Vonn’s potential performance this year were wildly over optimistic. I think we are getting about what we could reasonably expect for a player his age coming off such a serious injury. None of us at this point can predict whether he will ultimately reclaim anything close to his pre-injury form eventually. His age argues against it, but he is a special athlete and highly motivated. I would not bet against him, but next year is the timeframe to be expected. If he can make a few contributions down the stretch toward Buffalo’s run, it would be pure gravy. -
Clueless. It was not a bad call, start there.

NFL Maps and Broadcast Schedule: Week 15 2023 (December 17)

NFL preempted for Darts. Looks like Goodel’s plan is working to perfection. -
If we win the division we will play KC in Buffalo next year.

It’s Chiefs week - and the season is on the line
FLFan replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I literally can’t believe he is even back in here. -
I also struggle with unnamed sources here and I question Dunne’s objectivity frankly, and not just here. It is actually not very hard to elicit negative opinions from disgruntled ex employees of any business. I think this article needs to be taken with a large grain of salt. That said, there is a lot of smoke here, even independent of Tyler’s hit piece, making it likely there is some level of problem that needs to be addressed by management in the off season. My patience with McD is certainly wearing thin.

Beane Presser 12.6.23 - interesting comments on Von
FLFan replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall
Read the article, written by a lawyer in Texas who might know more than you. You can be arrested based on probable cause which is what has happened. The decision to bring formal charges is made separately and may or may not occur. Being arrested and being charged are two different things. -

This is actually not true. Please see the article linked for an explanation. The third paragraph in particular. A person arrested may or may not be formally charged with a crime. That is a separate step, and Miller has not yet been charged. https://www.jasonenglishlaw.com/understanding-arrest-vs-conviction-in-texas -

It’s the same for everyone. The contract with the NFLPA mandates days off and allowed number and duration of practices. -
I am not sure what Knox’s role is at this point. If they go back to 12 as a primary strategy, I think my head will explode. Kincaid is the better player right now.

I am not sure why they would be more likely to suddenly be good this week, although that is always possible I suppose. -

Probably more to do with the inability to replenish their wide receivers. They are mediocre at that position across the board. -

All I want for Christmas is a game week thread focused on the game and not endless circular arguments about coaching. Please Santa …. -
Probably not in this case. TG is very well connected and a very conscientious reporter. That might do it. The only was I see McD being fired as well, and I do not think it is likely.

No thanks. There is no evidence to suggest he would be more than mediocre in the NFL at this point. He has been away a long time. He is not exactly a modern day offense type thinker, and if you watch Michigan you will note a decided lack of agressiveness in game management which is what everyone is worked up about with McD. I would not trust my $250m QB to Jim Harbaugh. Pass, as if this is even a remote possibility.

Jets Officially Open Rodgers 21 Day Window. Back to Practice.
FLFan replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is simply more self aggrandizement and attention seeking from the narcissistic Rogers. If he plays another game, it will be next September. -
Why is it a mystery on who would be making the call? Terry Pegula is head of the organization and the owner. There is absolutely nothing that would indicate he is not the primary decision maker. McDermott reports to him directly. This is not a mystery. Some people seem to need to create confusion where none exists.

That was the worst officiated half of football I have ever seen. Kudos to the Bills for fighting through it to a 10 point lead, but the lead should be larger. The Bills absolutely dominated that first half.

You are probably right about that, but Miami did everything possible to hand that game last week to the Raiders and their total offensive incompetence prevented an upset victory. KC has a much better D than Miami. I can’t see Hoyer being much of an upgrade over that chump they played last week. This has been a strange year though ….. I think we are on the same page. I was just suggesting I certainly hope the Bills do not take that approach. -

FLFan replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Eagles have the least rushes against in the league. Teams are passing on them, sometimes because they are behind but also because the Eagles are more vulnerable there. I think the Bills can and will rush enough against the Eagles if they are smart about it. That said, this is not a team you try and ground and pound against. They need to pass and score to win. -

Who is playing QB for the Raiders? Sounds like it’s going to be Hoyer, or rather the rotting corpse of Brian Hoyer. The Raiders offense is a hot mess. I cannot see them hanging with KC in any way.
