  1. To be honest, I don’t blame him. Get as much money as you can. The average tenure of a n NFL coach is what…maybe 3 seasons? The only guarantee you have is the money in your contract. I can imagine working as an NFL HC is a 70+ hour work weeks. It’s going to be his life and his sacrifice a lot, might as well get paid.
  2. It better not be a chocolate shoe 😂
  3. You make an excellent point about utilizing personnel under Dorsey - especially the RB’s. The best example of this is Nyhiem Hines. He was a dynamic third down back in Indy but completely non-existent in Buffalo.
  4. If you go by PFF grades, Tyrell Dodson is the 3rd best linebacker in the NFL. PFF are subjective and do shoddy job arguing the narrative you are trying to spin. No one is denying the Bills defense was terrible against Cincinnati or that it wasn’t a problem in the losses this season. It clearly was an it’s been talked about to death. But look at the points scored by the offense in each of the games you claim the offense “graded out” higher. 10 16 20 25 18 22 An average of 18.5 per loss. But apparently because the PFF score was higher for the offense, it means that defense was the problem. Also, another fact to destroy your narrative. The defense lost 1 All Pro player (Milano, 1 player playing at an All Pro level (Jones) and one former All Pro player coming into this own (White) for the season. Obviously losing a player at every level defense for the entire year is going to hurt. The offense meanwhile has been relatively healthy all season long. What’s the excuse there? Bottom line is that the right call was to move from Dorsey. If he hadn’t been fired, the Bills would be in a much worse position. For weeks we kept waiting for the offense to “get right.” It didn’t happen until we hired a new OC. I think 14 points to a decent but undermanned Giants should have been a wake up call. Still at this point, the Bills were 4-2 and two weeks off an impressive dismantling Miami, Las Vegas and Washington averaging 41 points. The Jacksonville game was ugly but weird stuff happens in international games. Last year the Bills won 14 games. They were 4-2 after the suspect Giants victory. I think Dorsey deserved more time to turn it around.
  5. What “evidence?” There’s past of what you said that I can agree with but most of what you wrote is opinion and conjecture disguised as “overwhelming” evidence. If read the reporting from people like Tim Graham and everyone else in the Buffalo beat. Allen was very close with Dorsey and supported him as OC. It was reported that Dorsey was his “first choice” verbatim. In fact, when Dorsey was fired, Graham referred to the move as proverbially grabbing Allen by the facemask and telling him to get his ***** together. I’ve always disagreed with the notion that Dorsey was just a puppet to McDermott. If you read and believe the Ty Dunne article, McDermott had little involvement with the offense and spent most of his time on defense. I’m sure he did emphasize protecting Josh more in the offense but I don’t think he was as involved as you do. I feel Dorsey’s offense was his attempt to evolve Josh into high percentage pocket passer to beat Cover 2 shell and then to take the deep shots when opportunities presented themselves. Josh did fine. Dorsey just wasn’t very good at play calling. Here is the question - if McDermott and Beane were so hell bent on Josh not running in Dorsey’s offense, why would they just abandon it when Brady took over?
  6. If a team does their due diligence they’ll see the nice plays AJ has made as a pass rusher and also his biggest weakness which is setting the edge. The reason he’s been a rotational player is due to his inability to play the run. It was a major issue in the playoff game against Cincinnati and a big reason why the defense faltered in the second half against Philadelphia. I think AJ has grown into a competent DE. I can see him getting a nice contract but I don’t think he’s complete enough as a player to get a contract in that range.
  7. No but if you’re the franchise QB and you have concerns, you also aren’t going to sit on your arse and allow it to happen either. This is a completely made up narrative. If this was being reported in 2021, how could it be a “re-write?” The truth mostly likely is that both the Bills and Josh Allen had confidence that Ken Dorsey could be a good OC. And yes, Josh pushed for him too
  8. Can’t be understated….this was a huuuuuge move by Buffalo. I believe the thinking was that Floyd could hold down the fort under Miller was healthy. Instead, he became Von Miller and Von Miller became….Trent Murphy?
  9. I’d agree with you on the LaPorta vs. Kincaid debate. I think the Bills went with the TE with a higher ceiling. But the 2 TE offense is an interesting subject. We don’t know whether it was Dorsey or Beane that initially pushed for that personnel. It’s probably both, but I might argue Beane was the one who pushed it initially. I remember an interview he did with Pat McAfee after the Kincaid selection and he talked about how good the offense in Carolina was when they had Jeremy Shockey and Greg Olsen. He tried this last season as well with the signing of OJ Howard. In fact, you can make the argument he tried this in 2021 by signing Jacob Hollister who was coming off two good seasons. This is before Dorsey was OC. No it really wasn’t. After Daboll left every news outlet reported Allen pushed for Dorsey as OC as the became close in the QB room. Obviously he had a past with McDermott and Beane which likely helped, but I believe the desire to keep continuity after Daboll, was the biggest reason Dorsey was hired.
  10. I wouldn’t necessarily say they were poorly coached. I do think the play calling and overall scheme were lackluster, relied too much on Josh and Diggs, and did always play to the strengths of the talent.
  11. Maybe but his criticism was always that it was Allen to Diggs or nothing. The Bills needs contributions from other players and they are getting it with Cook
  12. If people at One Bills Drive read this forum, Sean McDermott would have been weeks ago and the Bills would be looking into trading multiple 1st round draft picks to trade for Brian Daboll as HC 😂 Only way they this forum is for entertainment purposes or to get a gauge on what fans might be saying about the team.
  13. The big question marks for me were the starting positiona that the Bills elected not to upgrade and instead filled with incumbents. I was most concerned with Terrell Bernard and Spencer Brown to be able to take a step forward. I was least concerned about Gabe Davis. This was completely wrong. Bernard is arguably better than Edmunds and Brown has improved to a good starting RT - exactly as Beane forecasted. Davis is the same WR he’s been for 3 years. Good for a few big TD catches, an occasional big game but overall just too inconsistent and not enough of a factor at WR2. In the end the player I thought was the safest to improve, ended up making the least improvement. Not a player, but the other person Buffalo put a ton of faith in to improve was Ken Dorsey. I was a little concerned about this and the concern turned out to be very valid. His offense never evolved with 12 personnel and instead was too reliant on Josh. I think Dorsey deserved another shot as OC, but in hindsight the best move would likely be to move onto Brady.
  14. I think the talent is starting to get there. For almost two years Chris Simms has been saying “someone else is allowed to step up besides Josh Allen and Stefan Diggs” We’ve seen that happen ever since Joe Brady took over - especially last week against Dallas. For the first time ever, the best player on the Bills offense was not named Allen or Diggs. I don’t think Kincaid is there yet but we’ve seen flashes and Knox is an excellent TE2 though I don’t think he’ll be around long term w/ his contract and Kincaid. The spot that needs to be improved is WR. Diggs is 30 and we might be seeing the beginning of some signs of decline. I think Shakir has potential as a WR3 but lacks the overall consistency. Gabe Davis… great blocker but we need more of a threat at WR2. OL is pretty good and should return next season in tact though at some point, a Mitch Morse replacement will be needed. So they are getting there - I’d still like to see a WR taken in R1 this year
  15. You mean 4 years ago?
  16. Did McKenzie do anything Harty doesn’t? His receiving stats were better but there also was less competition at slot WR last year. Not that I think Harty was a HR by any means. It was a bad signing. But I don’t feel the Bills really miss McKenzie after we saw what he could do in an expanded role last season.
  17. Should he have done the resume building part before Week 15?
  18. you left off the most important talking point - Dan played for many lousy coaches and never noticed an interim coach “bump.” He also compared the lame duck games to the preseason
  19. Different approach but the same result. In both cases I think the game script helped limit effectiveness. The Bills got up early and never looked back. I also think they gave Brown a lot of help on Crosby and schemes around Parsons. Every defense the Bills have faced over since Brady has been ranked in the Top 10 with good pass rushers, yet for the most part, none really blew up a game. The most pressure came against Kansas City’s defensive line who is solid but unspectacular aside from Jones. Still the offense averaged 29 ppg. LAC will be the worst defense the Bills face here on out and hopefully that bodes well
  20. I love how much Dawson is having and how relaxed his in a high pressure situation. I’m way more stressed that he is watching the broadcast
  21. This is was an astute observation last month that rings even more true today. The narrative is often that “Josh over McDermott.” I’d almost argue that Josh overcame Dorsey as OC. His talent and ability to get the ball to Stef for plays helped elevate the offense statistically but it just never looked smooth. It was always Josh throwing to Diggs or Josh throwing deep to Gabe Davis. When the big plays were taken away the offense had zero answers. This is why IMO Dorsey wanted to turn Josh into an efficient short game passer that runs out of 2 TE sets. It’s my believe this was a Dorsey concept and not a McDermott one. It made sense on paper but in actuality it restricted his strengths. I think Brady’s play calling and game plans have been better but also gave Josh answers when teams focused on taking away Diggs the past few weeks. This is what Dorsey never could do and I think that offense post-Miami was a big reason why the Bills dropped some games they should have won.
  22. Murray serves a purpose. He typically is able to get tough running yards and is a good blocker (usually). They can also trust him to protect the football (though he almost dropped an easy pass in KC).
  23. So the fact that he’s traditionally been good would essentially debunk the Tyler Dunne narrative that the he gets too “tight” in late game situations. This season has been quite been odd in one score games to say the least. I’be always said it shouldn’t all be on McDermott in these situations. Of course you can find fault in the play calls in the situation but you also can’t overlook the individual breakdowns either. NE: defense couldn’t tackle Stevenson on a screen and defenders gave NE cheap yards on PI penalties. CIN: Failed to get off the field in 3rd and 3 when Von lost contain on Joe Mixon. DEN: Denver was stopped on 4th down at midfield before a PI penalty put them in FG range. (12 men on field still inexcusible) PHIL: Scheme could have been better but lost lead on a percentage FG in regulation. Overtime defense was a cluster. The most frustrating part is that right before the game winning score, Josh drove the Bills down the field to take the lead. So incredibly frustrating. Dan Orlavsky talked about the game plan on One Bills Drive as praised Dorsey. He said the Bills chose run away from and to not block Parsons and put him in conflict. They could do this because of Josh Allen - but he also said Detroit tried this same approach on Maxx Crosby and it was a disaster. I can’t remember a time when Dorsey had such a creative game plan that worked to perfection like this. Joe Brady is a smart guy
  24. Why are you calling him McKittrick? I don’t get it and it isn’t funny
  25. We could find about 50 ”what if” examples this season. Pretty foolish to bring this up
