  1. I can see this happening. The Bills training staff is somewhat cautious with injuries - especially hamstrings which is why we saw Devin miss 3 weeks
  2. I don’t know about that. Usually when he uses the the term “day-to-day” it usually means just that - a short term injury. He said the same thing about Milano last year and he missed 1 week. McDermott uses the term “week-to-week” for longer stints. The only real exception might be Devin Singletary who was “day-to-day” and missed three weeks. So while there’s no guarantee one or both will suit up next week, I think the designation would mean they aren’t far off
  3. Joe B is claiming in his Athletic write-up is that Ed Oliver wreaked havoc on the line and was a big reason why their run defense was so good.
  4. To everyone trying to pretend that AJ sitting is normal, take the word of Matthew Fairburn on the Bills Beat podcast: “2nd round pick not dressing for his NFL game is fairly significant” ”Bills have a deep defensive line and he’s got a long road ahead of him”
  5. To be fair, he also had a wide open miss to Dawson Know. Couple that with 2 fumbles. But for the most part, that’s it. When you look at the totality of the game, he did more good than bad - which is “The Josh Allen Experience.”
  6. The interesting thing is that when they were drafted Darnold (along with Rosen) was considered to be the most pro-ready but many believed he had the highest floor/lowest ceiling. Allen was thought of to have the lowest floor/highest ceiling. While the team building and talent surrounding each QB is different, Allen has progressed since his rookie year while Darnold has largely been the same QB - maybe worse
  7. I think Lee might be worth a shot. Also I think it’s a long shot that the Bills will have both starting LB’s. As we’ve saw with Motor last year, hamstring injuries are usually 3-4 week injuries. From an injury standpoint, the team has been widely cautious about rushing players on the field too early. I get the feeling they might have Edmunds sit out this week, but then again who knows Yes and Lee. I think these injury scenarios is exactly why these visits were scheduled. LB was not a tremendously deep position
  8. I cringed when he would take hits as a runner and I’m sure many other Bills fans did as well. I can do without as many designed runs, though I think their plan is to showcase his running to keep defense off-balanced. Don’t agree with it but that’s what they were trying to do
  9. I tend to agree. They didn’t need him today. He’ll make up for it in the coming weeks by drilling a long FG
  10. I disagree. You can’t really fault him for Allen’s fumbles. That’s on the QB. He also designed a play where Brown was running WIDE open on the endzone and Allen overthrew him by a mile. He put them in a position to score all team. Allen and Bass screwed it up
  11. Daboll called a good game today. You can place the blame on the Bills for not finishing on Allen. Those 2 fumbles were killer
  12. Brian Daboll.... people love hating on him but he had the offense in the redzone 9 times today. Because of miscues, his team only came away with 27 points. This game should have been been more of a blow out
  13. TBH I ask glad they kept him. The cap space would be nice in 2021 but I think he’s an I flashy but solid DE who plays the run well
  14. Yes it is. As Bills fans we sometimes try to be immune to criticism or negativity, but the fact that your 2nd round pick wasn’t impress enough to dress in Week 1, is not good. Again, I’m not saying he won’t turn out to be a productive DE. It definitely can happen but clearly he has a very long way to go. Given his contract, Murphy seemed to be a goner before camp. IMO they kept him because AJ was so unimpressive Him not playing is not earth shattering. A 2nd round draft pick not dressing, is very uncommon
  15. No doubt and the depth at DE is a factor here. But at the same time, you’d want your 2nd round draft pick to be good enough to play in Week 1
  16. Is Dobbins a healthy scratch today? Look, Epinesa might turn out to be a good productive DE. I’m just saying that the fact he was made a healthy scratch given his high draft selection, the position he plays, and the player who beat him out, his career is off to a very disappointing start. Find me another 2nd rounder who is a healthy scratch in week one? Ha! Well this is partially true. There are some good veteran players who’d be ahead of most rookie DE’s like Jerry, Mario, and Jefferson. But a stronger training camp by Epinesa probably pushes Murphy off the roster and saves the Bills $7 in cap space next season
  17. Also, a player that you drafted 54th overall should be good enough to dress on Sunday. My point is, the fact that Epinesa is buried as the 4th DE on the depth chart behind a 2019 7th round pick probably isn’t a good sign. To an extent what you say is correct, but again.... it is very rare for a second round DE to be so far down the depth chart that they are listed as a healthy scratch. Don’t pretend that it’s common, because it isn’t. I think it’s a bad sign but we’ll see
  18. So you don’t think the fact that a second round draft pick is a healthy scratch, playing behind a 7th round draft pick from the prior year isn’t a good sign? Because I would beg to differ. It’s very uncommon that a 2nd rounder is made a healthy scratch
  19. Again, that’s not what I’m arguing. It’s a weird question, because it doesn’t happen very often
  20. Again though, you change the argument. I’m not disagreeing with anything you said. But I told you to name a 2nd round DE who was made INACTIVE on Week 1 of their rookie, that turned out to be a stud. You never see second round draft picks - especially defensive ends as a healthy scratch. It never happens which is why I said, if it’s the case with Epinesa then I’d consider they to be a disappointment. You disagreed. So I’ll ask you again: Name a 2nd round DE who was made INACTIVE on Week 1 of their rookie, that turned out to be a stud?
  21. Overrated (by Bills fans): Josh Allen. Look he made some improvement last year and the trajectory seems to be pointing up. But he has a LONG way to go. The amount of excuses that Bills fans will make not to blame Allen is off the charts Dawson Knox - He has shown some tremendous flashes but made some huge mental errors as well. The missed block vs Houston was on him, and it was a killer. He has issues with drops too. Underrated (by Bills fans): Trent Murphy - decent DE that plays the run well. He will never be a monster pass rusher, but remember, there’s a reason why he started over Shaq Lawson. Brian Daboll - not the best OC but not the worst either. He dialed up some good plays last season that weren’t executed well, included many downfield passes which Allen couldn’t connect. TJ Yeldon - Yeldon was a good 3rd down back for Jacksonville and he was effective when he got a chance to play last year in Cincy. The fumble are a huge issue but if he could get that taken care of he’s a good runner and receiver
  22. Ok but we’re talking 1st or 2nd DE’s. That’s a position that rookies can jump and contribute early. Name a DE that was taken in the 2nd round that was a healthy scratch in his first game? I’m sure there haven’t been many and if you can find a DE that didn’t dress and turned out to be a stud, I’m sure it’s an outlier. I’m concerned that AJ has a low ceiling
  23. BINGO! Fans love to criticize Daboll but give Allen a free pass. Both have been in Buffalo for 3 seasons, have been given some degree of freedom/autonomy, and have provided with some excellent offensive weapons. I don’t see how you can’t lump them together in terms of offensive success. If the offense is good or bad it will attributed to both of them.
