You take the receiver with the superior route running intelligence and ability.   That's the difference maker in the NFL.

    That's McConkey here.

To me, that's Franklin all day.  Watch his tape, dude lines up everywhere and runs every route.  He had some drop issues, which is a concern for me as well, but if he didn't, I think we are talking about a top 5 receiver class

The Washington Commanders are pleased with the outcome of this trade. They would have preferred another 2nd in this years draft but Denver didn’t have it. But as of right now the Commanders are sitting pretty to rebuild their franchise with the following picks in this years draft.

    12

    36

    40

    67

    76

    78

    100

    121

    136

    139

    147

    152

    222

    2025

    2x1st rounders

    2x2nd rounders

My only argument with having this many picks, is that this is a crap year to have them.  With the NIL impact, this is a wickedly weak draft class.  With that being said, you have so many picks in the top 100, that it shouldn't impact you that much.  What sucks is, there are a few positions that don't even have first round grades, so building up the trenches and other areas, may not be great value in this draft.

  3. Hey everyone, I was late to reviewing a trade proposal, that's on me.  As for the Commanders pick, it's his to do with what he wants and he has until 12p est.  While we might be pretty sure what they will do, we've seen some real bat ***** crazy trades in the past that caught us off guard.  Mitch Trubisky anyone?  There's plenty of teams that want a QB that could easily throw the farm at Denver.  Minnesota's front office loves making mistakes on draft day (not to say they are part of a trade now.)

I will be waiting until 12 tomorrow gathering my trade offers at this point. Unless someone comes at me with an offer too good to be turned down. So far the offered I’ve received don’t even cover the draft pick trade charts. At least be close with your offers people.

Don't forget, you only have until 11a to get a trade approved .

Thank you @HappyDays for the early pick. @Virgil just curious if I’m required to make my pick within 3 hours or if I’m able to take until 12pm tomorrow.

either way, the Washington Redskins are officially fielding trade offers at this point. Come with your best offers. Willing to hear offers including picks this year as well as next, as well as current players (assuming what’s allowed).

The list of WRs they've spent the most time with seems to point more to the 2nd round and beyond.

I wonder if a draft night trade for a veteran WR and then another addition to the WR room on night two or three is in order...

I think they could honestly go DT, C, or DB at 28, then trade up a little to get one of those WR's they like.  I'm not saying I'm a fan of it, but it seems like they are prepared for it.

*** indicates how many total visits they had.  No * means only one.

Based on positions met with, and volume of meets, the Bills are really doing their due diligence at S, DT, WR, and RB.  We met with all the top WR's, minus the top 3.  We met with the best at their positions for S, DT, C.  Based on the visits, I think the Bills are fully prepared to go WR at 28, but they are also willing to trade back or take BPA.  IF the board falls a certain way, I could see us going C, DT, DB in the 1st, and then trying to trade up in the 2nd.

Regardless, it looks like the Bills have really done their homework for all scenarios at 28, and have their later round, UFA research as well

  8. Hi Everyone and a welcome to the TSW Mock Draft 3.0 sign-up thread.

Mock 3.0 is 1 round with trades allowed.

The Bills selection will be done by a survey of the BPA’s at the time.  The decision on whether to trade up has been completed in multiple polls and depend upon how the board falls.  If the Bills trade up, it will be for certain players and no poll will be created.

The Draft will begin once all 32 owners have been found.

Owners:  (To volunteer to serve as a team GM, you need to)

    ·          Be in good standing on this site (daily activity, account history, etc)

    ·          GM cannot request a previously owned team

    ·          Reply in this thread with the top 3 teams you want to manage (only listing one will be ignored)

    ·          Be prepared to keep up with your picks (3 hour window between picks)

    ·          Be prepared to follow the posting guidelines when it’s your pick (failure to do so might lead to your exclusion to participating in future mocks)

    Rules:

    ·          Every owner has 3 hours to make their pick

    ·          When you pick, you must use the following format

o   With the 28th pick, the Buffalo Bills select Josh Allen, QB, Wyoming @XXXX is on the clock.  (Please do not post in all caps or use different punctuation)

    ·          When you pick, please give a few sentence summary as to why you made the pick you did.  The more commentary and ownership, the better the experience.

    Trades:

    ·          Trades must meet the trade chart value at a minimum

    ·          A team’s pick must be made within the 3 hour window.  The pick window does not reset for trades (Trades must be agreed upon within the first 2 hours of being on the clock)

    ·          Trades must be agreed before gaining approval

o   Once trade is agreed upon by the two GMs, a message needs to be created between the two GM’s, Virgil, and Alphadawg7.  The message needs to contain the trade and points value of picks.  Once approved within that message, by either Virgil or Alpha, the trade and pick can be posted

    ·          The following players can be traded by their current teams, and only for a 1st round pick:

    o   Tee Higgins, Brandon Aiyuk

    Hey everyone,

I just wanted to thank you all for your support in moving these drafts along so quickly.  I know I said that if 2.0 ended soon enough, we would possibly have a 3rd round.  While we did move quicker than I expected, I do think I'm going to end the draft after this round.  Honestly, I have a lot of work and other things going on this week that I need to catch up on, so to have a break for the rest of the week before 3.0 would be helpful to me.

The plan will be to have the sign-up sheet for 3.0 launch on Sunday, with the draft starting on Monday.  That puts the Bills poll most likely at Wednesday into Thursday, and the mock draft being done before the real one starts.

Again, I apologize if that ruffles any feathers, and if I could change the thread ownership page over to someone else, I would.

    Thank you all

Signup for 3.0 will start tomorrow morning

How much are kids with 5th round grades for example, trying to make into the 3rd, making in college?

I think it depends on the college honestly.  Some schools have to offer more to get players to come to their school, as the school may be overall less desirable than a Bama or Clemson.  FedEx just announced they were donating 25 million dollars to the Memphis program to be used to bring players in.  Yes, that's for basketball players, but it just shows the crazy money being thrown at colleges now because people want their team to be more relevant.

I also think it's interesting to see how the transfer portal is impacted by this.  Would a player leave Duke to go to Memphis upon hearing of that donation?  Maybe.

In any case, it's a very different world now and players are less inclined to gamble on declaring early.

  11. Can someone please walk me through this desire two use to high picks on a wide receiver?  We currently have 4 pass catchers we are comfortable with, and opportunities at other positions.  I am fully on board with receiver in the first two rounds, but only the one.  Who is this second receiver going to replace on the field.   1st rounder, Samuel, Shakir, Kincaid, Knox. You could also argue Shorter gets a crack.

I’d much rather see us try to get someone that can push for the FS, RG, HB2, and DL depth than a 6th pass catcher
