I agree. Maybe we should re-poll and ask again if anyone wants to move up. Pretty sure it would be close.

I'm betting this is a formality as the board will almost undoubtedly pile on Thomas here. My real vote would be not to move that high for any of these guys.

See Mock 1.0 and 2.0.   This is scenario 3 where the Bills trade up.  Just trying to show all perspectives and we’ve had numerous polls in favor of trading up.

  2. 10 minutes after the trade and no one has crucified me yet, I'm impressed.  Even still, I want to explain the logic here.

For starters, let me just say that the Bills pick was never meant to be mine to make decisions with and I have never done anything like that in my history of running these.

With that being said, the purpose of these mocks (besides having fun), is to see how different scenarios might play out.  We've already had one mock where we stayed put, one where we trade back, so I thought it was fitting to see what a trade up looked like.  For the trade, we didn't give up more than our extra 4th and the 2nd we got from the Texans.

Also, we've had tons of polls about trading up, and more than half the board was in favor of it.

Based on all those things, I made the call to trade up.  I believe it to be an accurate reflection of the pulse of the board and the spirit of these mocks.  If you have an issue, please submit a 26 page eMail to my customer service to gugny'sfineass@kickrocks.com

I don't see much of a difference between him and some of the other guys plus it's reported that he now has a shoulder issue and may need surgery but who knows. I'd rather they had not traded up at all if this is who is available on the board

It's hard to believe anything you hear on the week of the draft, but one report I heard said he may not be 100% for the first season, if not unavailable for some of it

    Just now, GunnerBill said:

If they trade up to #19 only Thomas makes sense to me. Because the rest are likely available at #28 or with a very small trade up.

There's rumors of Worthy going in the top 10 to someone like the Raiders or Dolphins who love speed.  I can't see the Dolphins doing it with all their other needs, but it wouldn't be the first time that someone overdrafted a guy because of his 40 time

  4. I made this poll thinking I was going to vote for Brian Thomas.  However, even though the Chiefs equally need OT help, I thought about the nightmare that would be Worthy on the Chiefs and I changed my mind.  While teams have said they aren't concerned, Thomas has a shoulder issue that some feel may hurt his draft stock.  Also, the idea of Josh not being able to overthrow Worthy, and teams having to stay in cover 2 against us with him and Samuel, is a nice thought for our TE's and run game.

I don't like to draft in reaction to other teams, but I can get behind this logic.

Also, as of today, some see Worthy going in the top 10 based on speed alone, as the #4/5 receiver

  5. ***Trade Alert***

    Bills Trade:

    #28 - 660

    #163 - 26.2

2025 2nd Rounder - 195 (Based off if the Vikings finish in the middle, as I've seen some presumptive mocks do for futures)

    Rams offer:

    #19 - 875

    Bills 881 - Rams 875

The Buffalo Bills are on the clock - Poll coming in a moment

It’s just a hunch but I think McCarthy is this year’s guy who’ll be sitting (head in hands) in the green room all night long on Thursday.

I would agree if there weren't so many QB needy teams.  If nothing else, someone will try to trade up to get that 5th year option on him.  I see Nix going late first round as well  Penix is the one I could see falling to Day 2

  7. We are just over 24 hours away from one of my favorite times of the year and what looks to be a fairly exciting draft.

What's everyone's draft environment, food, etc preference?  Also, anyone planning on just living here in the shoutbox?

For me, I get wings, pizza logs, YouTubeTV picture in picture for both NFL Network and ESPN coverage, and laptop open to research picks and complain about who the Bills take.

    What's on your agenda?

With the 14th Pick in the 2024 Draft. The New Orleans Saints select, Olumuyiwa Fashanu, OT Penn State.

We had the pick of the litter for OTs not named Alt. This is BPA meets biggest need. It is a deep OT class, but the slide back did not pan out. Speaking of not panning out, T Penning's days are now numbered. Edge and WR could have be in play had the draft not fallen the way it did here.

@BigdaddyinOrlando and the Colts are now on the clock

That’s who I was going to take if we made our trade

With the 10th pick in the 2024 TSW 3.0 NFL draft, the New Jersey Jets select Brock Bowers, TE, Georgia.

A pretty straightforward selection for the Jets. They want to load up for a playoff run with Rogers while he's still capable.

@H2o and the Vikings are on the clock.

I'd argue this was the easier pick outside of Williams #1 overall.  The Jets have not been subtle about who they want

  10. Welp, there goes the big 3 receivers and any dreams of the Bills trading up for one of them in this mock.

I can't wait for one of them to fall out of the top 10 on Thursday night, the Bills still don't trade up, and everyone loses their minds (me included)

Just a heads up, I will be AFK from 3:30p est to around 5:30p.  I can still review trades in my DM's, but may not be able to update the main page

With the 5th pick of the 2024 TSW mock draft version 3.0, the Los Angeles Chargers select:

    Rome Odunze, Wide Receiver, Washington

After not getting enough compensation to move down and acquire more picks in this draft the chargers decide to stay put. Harbaugh wanted to move down and grab an O lineman early or even take Brock Bowers but because the offers weren’t there he couldn’t pass on a generational WR talent for Justin Herbert.

I know I know, why would you take Rome Odunze over Malik Nabers? I feel the top 3 WRs in this class would be the top WR in most classes and it’s really pick your flavor. Harbaugh goes with his type of player over the upside of Nabers. Odunze bleeds the same way Harbaugh bleeds. Harbaugh would’ve ran to the podium for Harrison but getting the most clutch WR in the class is a fine second option.

@JJGauna and the NY Giants are on the clock with pick 6

To me, the Chargers need WR and this is a no brainer.  However, every single thing I've heard from Harbaugh is that he wants to build up his lines and run the ball.  They've brought in Edwards and Dobbins (the best of the breakable backs), and I truly believe they will go offensive line here.  I'm not knocking your pick, and everything could be a smoke screen, but based of the style that Harbaugh runs...

Agreed.  This is what I meant by Wash would need more than this in real life because  they won’t care about all these day 3 picks this year.

Don't quote me, but I want to say that "experts" believe there's only 150 NFL prospects in this draft.  The Commanders can now select 11 of them.  If they really want to overhaul, they could.  It's a good draft for the offensive line, not so much for DE's or MLB though.
