I mostly agree with this. The Bills are getting 1, likely 2 home games regardless. I do think the 1-seed is important. Not necessarily for homefield throughout, but for the bye, which I think is huge.

When I was a young kid, my mom would hand me a catalog (usually Sears or JCPenney) and say "Write out you list and put page numbers next the items." I would make an extensive list of the coolest toys. I never got one of those dam things.

After the playoff loss last year, I basically told myself it'll likely never happen. I spent the whole offseason and up to this point keeping my expectations essentially at zero. I've been asking myself 'how will the Bills implode this year and what will it look like?' It's a horrible way to be I know, but honestly, I've been a bit more relaxed watching the games. It's also a defense mechanism against the inevitable crushing feeling from an early exit. A lot of folks say, "just enjoy the ride." I get it. But the ride gets a bit stale when it keeps ending the same way. I will say the next month and a half should be fun with the Bills having all but locked up the division with a chance at the 1 seed. Mostly stress free.

Yeah, it's crazy that so many people get paid to simply talk about football every week and so many opinions are way out in left field. Then I got to thinking.....I'm reading and posting at work. So essentially, I'm getting paid to talk about football and deliver ridiculous opinions too.

My thoughts exactly. I'll take it a bit further....it was a complete sham. Tyson wasn't throwing punches in the last 2 rounds, Tyson got a payday, and the promoters got rich!! To me it's black eye in the world of boxing. The best fight was the Welterweight fight earlier. That was real.

I'm pretty much in line with your take here. It's unusual for me, but I'm not that nervous for this one. I'm super pumped for the game, because I think a chance at the 1-seed is big, really big. Bills history in the playoffs proves they may need every possible advantage they can get. And if the Bills win, it will change how I watch the rest of the season because of the magnitude of each game and where it puts us. But if the Bills lose, it's still fine. However, I won't watch the rest of the season with the same intensity as it's likely the Bills will be rolling to a 2 or 3 seed.

Yep! This past weekend I was the sports bar watching the Bills and turned around to watch the Denver field goal attempt. I said, "he'll miss it", and wasn't the least bit surprised when it was blocked.
