  1. So really only a couple of years wther the defenses made a significant difference. Mostly its the QB's and offense.
  2. I used to be an anti-dome guy. But its become clear its a better product in person and on TV when the weather is not a factor in the game. Now that the Bills are a top tier team, the randomness introduced by the weather works against them. It really does.
  3. Did Beasley steal the playbook pages with the slants and crossing routes? Will he be bringing them back?
  4. 43 years ago if you denounced a Jewish persons Old Testament religous beliefs, you would have been considered a bigot. Now people accuse of Jewish person with those exact same religous beliefs of being a bigot. Words that are so fluid become less meaningful.
  5. Good list. Only problem is with F, is that there is not anything close to universal agreement on what compromises bigotry. So we all agree its bad, we just don't tend to agree on what it is.
  6. Not really any evidence of that in recent years in terms of wins and losses. Offense wins regular season games. Offense wins Championships. Offense wins Super Bowls. Thats the rule. There are a small handful of exceptions in this century to prove the rule.
  7. Two years ago we played in the AFC championship game. Last year we took a step back and lost in the divisional round. Not clear to me that is "amazing". I found it more "disappointing".
  8. The QBs are the only thing that matter. When Allens, Mahomes or Burrow go off, the teams win. When they don't go off all three teams are .500 ball clubs. In 2022 Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes each have 6 games with Passer ratings above 100. Joe Burrows has 7 games above 100. The combined record for these 19 games is 19 wins zero losses. The combined record for the 20 combined games with passer ratings below 100: 10 wins 10 losses. It would seem the strategy is to figure out what it takes to help the QBs get above a 100 passer rating. To my eyes the Chiefs and Bengals think the key is making the online and skill positions as strong as they can. And the Bills strategy is to pray that Josh Allen is superman each Sunday. And the Bills strategy may yet work.
  9. -1- Bills have success Dolphins cannot compete Buffalo reigns supreme -2- Buffalo roars strong Miami's hopes dashed, nevermore Victory for Bills -3- The Buffalo Bills Defeat the Miami Dolphins On a glorious day
  10. Basically when the QBs don't go off, all of these teams turn into .500 ball clubs. No point in stressing over the defense anymore. 🙂

  11. I suppose targets minus catches minus drops means uncatchable
  12. Is there a stat different from targets that reflects "catchable targets?"
  13. Another issue, is the the sting of 13 seconds last year, makes Bills fans more than any other sports fans realize, it always possible for the team to steal defeat from the jaws of Victory. Makes it painful to watch all of these close games.
  14. I think 10-3 does not feel particulary good, is because we can all see that offense has not progressed even a tiny bit from last year. It was good last year. And it is good this year. But it is the same: we have one of the games best 3 QBs, a top five WR, a bad online and a bunch of Jags at all of the other skill conditions. This is is a result of not using much draft capital or salary cap on offense for a number of years. The Bills have the largest salary cap investment in the defense of any team in the NFL, and the injuries have made it something less than the best defense in the NFL despite the investment. The Bills formula is different than the formula's used by the high powered Chiefs and Bengals offenses. These are the team with the other two top QB. Those teams have done all they can to surround their QBs with an excellent line and high end skill players. Its not clear the Bills formula is better. It is based on Josh being meaningfully better than Burrows and Mahomes. Its a tough order to fill, but Josh is incredible and he may pull it off.
  15. would rather watch Brady and Purdy. little interest in geno smith and sam darnold
  16. "who often play like their field looks"
  17. Please reread the original post. This time do it with what the kids call "reading comprehension". The post clearly says it is not a measure of who is the best coach.
  18. Lafleur seemed to have better success than McCarthy had been having. I am not sure to another posters point that makes Lafluer "one of the worst coaches in the league"
  19. The other poster misses the point of the thread. A playoff loss is magnitudes better than not making the playoffs. 18 teams miss the playoffs. 6 teams end with their season with a loss in the wild card round. 4 teams end with a loss in the divisional round. 2 teams end a season with a loss in the championship games. 1 ends with a loss in the super bowl. 1 wins the super bowl. According to the posters 0-4 logic, it would seem the 18 teams who missed the playoffs had a better coaching year than the team than lost in the championship game or lost in the super bowl. The measure of success in the thread is who gets the furthest down the road.
  20. Miller is 7 months younger than Hughes. Unusual youth movement.
  21. So you have no proof he is a bad coach.
  22. When the Bills win the Super Bowl this year, McDermott moves into the top 5.
  23. Brady won three super bowls before he was 28. All of his years were pretty good.
