In Bills land, if you don’t have cap space and you don’t win a SB, you suck. Vikings fans are pining for the days of watching AP drag Christian Ponder to 7-9. They wish they were the Redskins. Hell, every team wishes they were winless til week 8. THEY HAD CAP SPACE AND DIDNT HAVE TO PAY A QB!

Wait what? So you provide another (bad) option outside of paying Dak, say that you don’t even AGREE with this option and that’s supposed to be proof there’s another good option? If you want to argue that signing Cam is a reasonable option, you can’t say you wouldn’t do it! The Dallas Cowboys could trade for Jake Fromm and start him, is that a good option? Good grief. Paying Dak is the only option. Every other avenue is silly. Good teams and average teams pay their QB’s. Bad teams let QB’s walk or never get QB’s and languish in obscurity. I think you’re making too much out of a single season. Aaron Rodgers and the Pack were bad two years ago, changed coaches and won 13 games. I would argue based on Dallas’ performance last year, they didn’t have poor coaching but instead arguably the worst coaching in the league. Sean McD is a good HC but not the best. Do you think Dallas wins only 8 games last year if McD is the HC?

They had a down year last year, no doubt. That would be fine if Dak played one season as a starter. He's played 4. Jason Garrett coached 9 full seasons in Dallas. He's hit double digit wins 3 times, two of them with Dak. Dak with JG was 40-24. JG without Dak is 40-40. JG has coached 5 playoff games, 3 of them with Dak. Dak has 14 GWD's and 8 4th Q comebacks in 4 years. Average passer rating is 97. And most importantly, they have very little chance of acquiring a franchise QB if they lose Dak. You say their team is great around the QB. Are they going to be in the running for Lawrence next year? Maybe they draft a Jordan Love-type late and he reaches his peak 3 years down the road. Then what happens with guys like Cooper who are reaching the final years of their deal? It's bad team building strategy to roll the dice on finding a new QB NOW. That's why rather than get rid of their stars and going into a rebuild, they fired their terrible coach and are trying to retain basically EVERYONE. That doesn't guarantee a SB win by any means. but as you said, they have a good team RIGHT NOW. Why would you reset it all? Dak is worth it. Period.

They are wrong. They also aren’t looking at Dallas’ roster at all. If you don’t think the Dallas roster is ready to compete, they better trade or cut a handful of players before Dak is next on the chopping block. You don’t let the QB walk, and then keep the rest of the talent.

Dallas has won more playoff games in the last two years than Buffalo in 20.

It’s just this place. They automatically say pay a QB, never win, never have good players. Allen will win a Super Bowl and SB MVP in year 4, and when he gets Mahomes money there will be, “I’m worried about our cap!!!!!” posts all over TBD. All hail the cap. That point makes no sense. All of their players are signed. Dak is the last one. The supporting cast is signed.

I don’t disagree that Watson is better than Dak, but film study is far from objective. For example, Dak did far more than manage the gameplan this year. His earlier years this was true but he was asked to do far more this year. Furthermore, film study would suggest that Dak is leagues above Dalton. Like not even a debate type stuff.

Getting Biadasz right when their C retired is huge. They basically filled their needs and got some really talented players.

Yes, the Eagles are worse in literally every way except maybe coaching, but they made the playoffs last year out of that division and recency bias plays a part in this stuff on here. You don’t see posts on here bashing Wentz as a bum like you did last year. Just like all this Dak bashing is new. TBD rises and falls with the seasons.

No that’s what he’s been offered. Was Dalton offered $30M+ a year? Yes, how much you get paid in the NFL is directly correlated with ability. That’s why good QB’s makes more than bad QB’s. Dalton didn’t take $7M this offseason because he had some other team offering $30M. Fair enough, but you were still definitely wrong about Dalton not being a downgrade. I think that rolling with Dalton is a big ole waste of everyone’s time.

Dak has won a game in the playoffs actually. Just the year prior to last. So no. I’m sorry, but any way you slice it, Dalton is a downgrade, especially based on his play over the last several years. If you want to argue at pricepoints he may be a better option then have at it. I disagree, because at best it’s a temporary stopgap and you’re back on the QB carousel in a year or two. But one QB is being offered upwards of $30M per year and the other took $7M. Everyone knows who is better except you.

Don’t even get me started on their comparisons as playoff players. Andy has thrown 1 TD to 6 INT’s in the postseason. Passer rating of 57 in the playoffs! And you say what downgrade??? There was once a team that decided to build a really great roster around Andy Dalton to contend for Super Bowls. They were called the Bengals. They went 0fer. Dak threw more TD’s in his first playoff game than Andy has in his playoff career. Come on man!

I mean, you should lay money on Allen O 40.5 TD’s then if that line exists. I think I’d rather not making Vegas rich again this year. Josh had 600 yards rushing as a rookie and actually had less RTD’s so your explanation of 9 turning into 12 falls a little flat.

That roster is already there. I don’t agree that Dalton at starter money is worth the downgrade, but fair enough. Especially when Dalton hasn’t thrown 30+ TD’s since 2013.

For reference, Lamar Jackson won 14 games and commanded the #1 offense in the NFL. Also not sure about where the 12 RTD’s came from. Would that be one of the best rushing TD seasons in NFL history by a QB?
