Okay, fair enough. I disagree as IMO QB is king, but we’ll give your plan some thought. So let’s say they trade Dak for like a 2nd because he’s not locked up long term to some team (not sure any team that needs a QB can absorb $30M but whatever.) The Boys decide to sign Griffen, Reid and Jefferson all to two year deals, effectively spending that cap room. Dalton starts, game manages them to 10 wins with 28 TD’s 9 INT’s and 3300 yards. He’s on a 1 year deal. Won’t he demand starter money? Now you have a capped out team without any good QB under long term contract AGAIN. And you’ve just given a worse QB the exact same leverage as Dak. What are you gonna do now? Let Dalton walk and sign Fitz? Rosen reclamation project? Draft some kid at pick #22? And what about the rest of the team? Amari Cooper is getting paid $25M to catch 50 balls a year for 750 yards? There’s a reason teams do not do this. There’s a reason QB’s get King’s Ransoms. I get it, paying Dak $150M hurts. And this team will hurt in the short term. But 3 years from now, you can reset a couple contracts and reload for another go around. Look at Russell Wilson. He was a young QB whose contract DECIMATED that after 2 years. But you know what, aren’t they glad in Seattle they didn’t let Russ walk and try to keep the LoB together instead. Because Sherman isn’t old Sherman anymore, Marshawn is out of the league, Malcolm Smith is done, Kam Chancellor retired. Golden Tate is still in the league but most of that offense is done, Sidney Rice, Baldwin, Harvin. ET is still playing at high level. Russ outlasted almost ALL of them. And now they have rebuilt the entire offense and defense and their window is STILL open. Maybe Wilson closed the window a year or two early on the Old Seahawks. But he’s also the reason the window has been cracked open for the last 6.

Yeah, I would LOVE to face an accurate QB who throws 30 TD’s a year who is a mobile threat, paired with the greatest coach of all time who consistently fields good to great defenses. I mean either Jason Garrett as his HC, Dak only gave him 3 of his 4 winning seasons in 9 years. This is a great idea.

To this day, I will never understand the thought process of dealing his fifth year option then trading Sammy. Just really stupid.

His second season was not mediocre. The biggest difference between Trubisky and Cousins/Tanny is how clear it was last year that he was holding the offense back. In Tanny's third season, for example, he had one of his best seasons.

Nah 1 year of success vs multiple. Injuries do increase his risk, but he's at the same level as risk as Josh at worst, IMO. Especially after last year where he took tomato cans to the postseason. Their offense was 12th in pts and 14th in yards without a WR with 500 yards. Honestly might have been as impressive as his MVP year. I'll stop derailing there.

The narrative is almost certainly going to be that Josh Allen can not stop throwing 300 yards plus every game. He will crush his opposition and lead the #1 offense of all time. See you guys in 2021.

Why even play the games if we’re already certain about the narratives? What if Diggs gets hurt and misses 12 games and Allen throws 30 picks? Everyone is out to get Josh Allen.

Come on bro. Dak threw 30 TD’s last year. Andy hasn’t thrown 30+ TD’s in a season since 2013. BB doesn’t need an excuse. He has 4 years of losing records before anyone turns on him. Which I’m not convinced happens. He’s the greatest coach in NFL history and it’s not like his last Super Bowl was 10 years ago. They won last year lol.

I’m sure BB is on the firing line next year if they have a down year, good thing he has a good excuse.

Nobody team-builds in a vacuum so you’re actually right on the money. We drafted Tre and traded for Gaines which made Darby pretty expendable. Trading Dareus left a hole at DT. Star’s contract was going to be up and McD and co knew it. They didn’t trade Dareus, and then 12 weeks later go, “hey maybe we should sign a DT because we don’t have many, who is available?” That doesn’t mean their ONLY plan at DT was Star, but that’s the one they executed to replace Dareus.

Hopefully it’s enough.

Can the Bills best Stidham and BB if they hold him to 18-39 for 150 yards and a pick is going to be the real question.

Would not be surprised to see him end up in Carolina as a backup next season. Or Tenn. Teddy/Tanny, Mitch and a rookie battling for the QB spot in a season or two.
