  1. And in the two years prior, he was 10-12-1 as a starter. Aaron Rodgers wasn't Aaron Rodgers of old and he hasn't been for some time. I don't care about mock drafts (lol) or the ProBowl (lol). He and Brady are both on the same "still a very good game manager" decline. In 2019, Rodgers posted the third worst passer rating of his career, despite winning 13 games. He hasn't had a passer rating >100 (where his career average is) since 2016. His TD% hasn't been above 5 in 2 years (his career avg is 6.0). ' The evidence is abounding that Rodgers just ain't the same player anymore. Folks are acting like 2014 was yesterday, and it just wasn't.
  2. He would have led the Bills' skill position players in TD's last year.
  3. Drafting players high in the second round is not settling for trash. Nelson was 3 picks away from the first round. If they traded up and took him at 32 instead of 36 would you change your take? Rodgers is approaching being done. I wasn't surprised they weren't swinging for the fences this offseason. Just like I wasn't surprised the Pats weren't trading firsts to help Brady. Their windows are closing, not opening.
  4. The 2011 Seahawks only drafted CB's in the fifth and sixth round to help their secondary. Does it matter who the players turned out to be, or did they neglect their secondary by not investing higher picks (and thus different players) in it?
  5. ??? Jordy Nelson left GB after multiple injuries at 33 years old, for Oakland. You don't tear off 1500 yards receiving without being a talented player. Aaron Rodgers himself wouldn't agree with this take. So Adams was "awful" with Rodgers throwing to him and now he's good with Rodgers throwing to him? So if his QB didn't change, maybe he became a better player? GB's biggest problem since Rodgers has been there is their one-dimensional pass game. They can't run and they can't stop anybody. How does drafting WR's or trading first round picks for WR's help them? So they can lose more games 45-44? Incredibly, building a defense doesn't count as helping your QB. Building an OL doesn't count as helping your QB. Building a run game doesn't count as helping your QB. Rodgers continues to get a pass for being a less personable Peyton Manning. The argument they haven't invested in Rodgers' WR group is just not true. They got fine players for Rodgers, and still never sniffed a second SB.
  6. Yes. Furthermore, no one actually cares if the player knows it or not when its apparent to everyone else.
  7. Yeah, they just got him Jordy Nelson, who was a star, Davante Adams, who is a star, and Randall Cobb, who was a star, all in the second round. #WillSomeoneHelpRodgers?
  8. It’s funny, imagine if Tavon Austin was coming out of college now. The NFL sure has changed.
  9. Excellent post. I will go a step further and say they have sent a message loud and clear to Rodgers. This is not a Mike McCarthy do whatever you want regime. Your talent no longer demands us do everything to make sure you are happy. If he sulks and acts like a clown, he will have no one to blame for their dysfunction but himself.
  10. Brady wasn’t talking about retiring and the Pats spent a second and third on QB’s. The new Packers are not the old Packers. Rodgers gets the biggest pass for being a HoF talent with 1 Super Bowl. And now he’s in decline. Peyton Manning wishes he got this kind of pass.
  11. Perfect for a departure, ease Love in and if he isn’t elite right away, maybe they get lucky and sign him to a cheapish deal.
  12. Sometimes, the team needs to see the QB run over a defender as a spark. Josh Allen for all his faults, is more than willing to provide that spark if necessary, and he rules for that.
  13. I don't know why Rodgers has such staunch defenders either. When Big Ben was just getting fatter and older, and freaked out when the Steelers drafted Mason Rudolph, everyone thought the pick was completely reasonable. But when Rodgers faces the same scenario, it's the ultimate organization betrayal. Bizzarro world stuff.
  14. I’m not changing premises, the general argument appears to be that the GB FO has “screwed” Rodgers. What WR should they have drafted? Maybe they didn’t see the value in who was available. Your answer will likely be “someone!” Should they have taken Isaiah Hodgins? Would everyone stop crying then? Aaron Rodgers, prior to 2019, was 10-12-1 as a starter in the past two seasons. His new GM took over last year, and his new coach took over this year. And Voila, 13 wins and an NFCCG appearance. Are they really “screwing” Rodgers by not nominally drafting some bum WR? He hasn’t thrown over 30 TD’s in 4 seasons. He’s a game manager and they are acting accordingly. Run the ball, play defense. See what the Pats did two years ago, loading up on the run game. Oh, and the Pats somehow drafted a bunch of QB’s and no one EVER cried about like Rodgers’ fans. I will enjoy watching Jordan Love in 4 years and linking this post. I don’t remember folks saying the Pats should trade Brady because they drafted Jimmy G and it’s just so unfair to Tom!!! This has gotten ridiculous. Maybe John Brown should demand a trade because we traded for Diggs and drafted Gabe Davis to replace him in 2 years. Somebody save John Brown!!!!
  15. San Fran destroyed the Pack with a devastating run game. The Packers drafted an RB, a TE, and 3 OL. This is why this argument is so silly. Apparently they just needed to draft WR’s. RB’s, TE’s and OL don’t help QB’s. They are abandoning Aaron Rodgers to die!!!! Very overdramatic. So basically, it was a waste because you don’t think Love will succeed. I wonder if some folks in 2005 thought the same thing.
  16. They have had double digit wins in 6 of their last 10 seasons. Their worst record was 1 game under .500. Like I said, much ado is made about the cap. Every year they were supposedly in cap hell. Whether they went 7-9 or 13-3.
  17. Lol Aaron Rodgers doesn’t have a $30M cap hit because he needs 3 superstar WR’s. Devin Funchess is a starter in this league. The two WR’s have shown something, the one was on IR all year. They may like their weapons and not see the value in getting a Gabe Davis. The Packers are simply not 1 player away, whether it’s a WR in the fourth or one in the first.
  18. They drafted two WR’s last year. They signed Funchess. They have Davante Adams who is already a super star. Rodger’s does not have zero weapons. They are hardly the 2018 Bills at WR.
  19. That’s just how it goes. Teams in or about to be in significant cap woes, are the Pats, Rams, Eagles, 49ers and Chiefs. They all have something in common.
  20. I would love to know what late first round player prevents GB from getting their teeth kicked in and embarrassed by the 49ers. What mythical rookie player is stopping the 49ers from rushing for 300 yards?
  21. The Saints have had “the sky is falling” cap articles written about them for about a decade and they’ve been fine.
  22. Down or worst years? That’s not how it works. Their performances fluctuate every year. Wilson’s last year was not a down year. Wilson passed for 26 TD’s as a rookie. In his third year, he passed for 20 TD’s. Hardly “elite” numbers and extremely distant from his “down year” last year. I don’t expect Josh Allen to have an “elite” performance next year. He just needs to have a good season. Wilson, Brees, Rodgers and Mahomes all had good seasons last year. None of those teams are panicking about the QB position after those seasons last year. They all performed well enough to be playoff teams and Super Bowl teams. That’s literally all I care about. I don’t need Josh to have a Matt Stafford year where he leads the league in TD’s and it’d be really silly to expect that.
